Ray Allen wants to continue playing one more season, with Lebron. A true Uconn legend!
7/24/2014 11:13:47 AM
A true hoe
7/24/2014 11:40:32 AM
I know you hate uconn. That's fine.

melo talking about bringing a championship to new york. i wouldn't put it past him if phil can pull a pat riley and pull solid free agency to the knicks with the next epic free agent wave.
7/26/2014 12:45:27 AM
I think Riley gets too much credit for bringing Lebron and Bosh to Miami
7/26/2014 1:28:06 AM
I agree with you, kind sir.
7/26/2014 1:31:55 AM
too much credit? he pulled off one of the best free agency moves of the modern age. being able to assemble a championship team and essentially promising the best player in the league a ring and delivered and then some.
7/26/2014 9:53:36 AM
Yeah I agree, it isn't like he engineered some amazing feat. Those three guys probably called each other up and were like, "uh so we want championships and we could wreck shop together, wanna make this happen?"It's not like Riley pulled a rabbit out of his ass, if you want to see that look at the Spurs and the things they do like making Boris Diaw a force and difference maker.
7/26/2014 10:23:10 AM
or consistently land a top 5 player in the draft with late round picks.Kyle Anderson has potential to be a complete stud in that system. The thing is they still have a good young core in Kawhi, Green, Splitter, and Anderson so with Duncan, Gino, and Parker about washed up they can easily replace them with the cap room it will create when they move on from those guys. And absolutely Kawhi is a top 5 player in the league right now. You can't even debate that. He's the best Lebron stopper in the league probably, an insane rebounder, and an efficient scorer.
7/26/2014 11:06:54 AM
except for the 2 games kawhi didn't do jack dick in the finals. anyone can show up when it matters (see norris cole, battier, ray allen, mike miller and essentially anyone on the 2013 miami heat championship team). if Kawhi is such a great player, then i'll rescind my current statement when he gets a bid to the all star game.
7/26/2014 11:21:40 AM
Because that is the pinnacle of a great player, making the All Star game...
7/26/2014 12:02:20 PM
^^^Lebron averaged 28 pts, 8 rebounds, 4 assists in the finals. If by "Greatest Lebron Stopper in the League" you mean "His team shut down a bunch of old dudes and Lebron still got his" you are correct.
7/26/2014 12:54:18 PM
he made Lebron work harder for those numbers than anybody else is able to, and that matters a lot
7/26/2014 1:06:00 PM
I just posted the fucking stats. Kawhi was the finals mvp and was a top 5 player in the regular season. The level of discourse on this bboard is silly. Plenty of washed up players have made all star games
7/26/2014 7:36:07 PM
I don't know if I'd call him a top-5 playerHe's obviously no Lebron or DurantIs he better than CP3? Curry? Harden? Stiemsma? He's an incredibly well-rounded an efficient player, but it never hurts when you play on a loaded team.
7/26/2014 8:27:57 PM
^ it also keeps you from putting up huge numbers since that isn't needed
7/26/2014 9:49:45 PM
And if he had to carry a team like Lebron he'd probably have to force up more shots and decrease his FG%, for example
7/26/2014 9:59:41 PM
Statistics means everything to me.[Edited on July 26, 2014 at 10:41 PM. Reason : ;]
7/26/2014 10:13:29 PM
^^ agreed. Which is why an argument purely based in statistics is silly, you can only tell so much of the story with numbers (and this comes from someone with a background in analytics)
7/26/2014 10:37:11 PM
if kawhi is drafted by any other team in the league he's a mediocre 3 point shooter at best so it's kind of hard to divorce the team he plays for with how good he is
7/26/2014 11:06:43 PM
yeah but thats sorta like the asterik we put besides Michael Jordan's legacy because he wouldn't have developed a post game without the tutelage of Phil Jackson and the Bearded Bill Wennington.
7/27/2014 12:20:30 PM
*Somebody's* got to be the finals MVP.
7/27/2014 2:48:21 PM
Kawhi's success was a result of the system he played in more so than individual talent and value. He isn't top 15 in the league IMO. Its a credit to pop's coaching. Last year a few games into the finals it looked like Danny Green would be finals MVP. The last 2 Finals MVPs from the spurs (Parker and Leonard) are arguably the least valuable finals MVPs of the past decade or so... It's like the Super Bowl MVP what's his face.... A dominant team performance and you just have to pick one player.
7/27/2014 4:58:28 PM
I hate when people try to marginalize people for being "system guys". Thats the upmost way of being a team player. If yourw not a system guy youre probably a ball hog or just uncoachable which is rarely good fkr the team.
7/28/2014 6:28:18 AM
7/28/2014 3:32:41 PM
No Baynes is worthless. And Kaawhile undoubtedly top 15. He' ccarried a team to two straight finals and 1 championship
7/28/2014 4:31:07 PM
I don't doubt Kawhi will be a top 15 player in the next 2-3 years, but right now I could easily name 15 players putting up better numbers (including 2 on his on team).

Team USA scrimmage on ESPN
8/1/2014 9:09:44 PM
well paul george won't be playing again until 2015
8/1/2014 10:34:26 PM
Holy shit that was brutal. Theismann level
8/1/2014 10:38:38 PM
I always liked watching George play, hope he can bounce back but he's done for this year. It's a really bad break (no pun intended) for the Pacers. They would have never let Stephenson go if they knew George would be out. They are free falling this offseason, likely out of the playoffs next year. Silver lining, this has to help the Hornets chances.
8/1/2014 11:19:02 PM
Bulls are going to dominate
8/1/2014 11:41:40 PM
Rose will definitely stay healthy all year
8/1/2014 11:42:23 PM
Brutal
8/1/2014 11:43:57 PM
US basketball is done. now no one is going to play now. let the college kids go out there and break their legs for free "for the country"
8/1/2014 11:47:26 PM
I refuse to see the injury but is it as bad at that Louisville player with his foot hanging off in the tournament a year or two ago?
8/1/2014 11:59:02 PM
don't click if you don't want to see it:https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BuABRfQCIAA_BhH.jpg:large
8/2/2014 12:02:11 AM
^^I mean, his leg snaps, but no bone pops out
8/2/2014 12:03:33 AM
This is a lot easier to watch than the Louisville injury IMO. Not that it isn't a terrible break for him.
8/2/2014 12:13:22 AM
Kevin Ware's tweet is priceless
8/2/2014 12:26:34 AM
Minor setback for a major comeback?
8/2/2014 12:49:55 AM
Pacers might be missing lance a little more now.
8/2/2014 12:53:20 AM
Season is too long Playoffs are too long. We are seeing an epidemic. Almost every big star has had a significant injury in the las 3 seasons or so.
8/2/2014 3:47:46 AM
These guys are getting paid though. It is the same for European Soccer. They basically play year round.
8/2/2014 4:29:05 AM
After the big 3 break up, now we know Shaq & kobe combo is so unique. No other combos, even big 3 can get a 3-peat in the last 15 yrs.So Phil Jackson actually teaches two best combos--Jordan & Pippen, Shaq & kobe in the last 25 years in NBA history and gets 3 3-peats directly. Damn, the image is blurred, but still brutal. I can see his leg got bent. Nasty!!
