Not an officer but since my agency own's the sheriff's cars.AWD Chargers are the newest round of purchases we have made. with have Pursuit edition Taurus's (think taurus SHO with police lights, interior and steel wheels) which seem to be the most forgiving to drive like a race car. The caprice is a good all around car that i feel handles better than the charger and is more fun then the taurus to drive. The PPV Tahoes are a favorite and feel "unrollable" for an SUV and have way more interior space than the rest. I can't speak to reliability much as we sell our cars at 100,000 miles before any major issues happen.
8/25/2015 7:39:24 AM
we sell vehicles at 100k miles? that seems wasteful
8/26/2015 2:25:12 PM
It's not the miles, it's the hours the accumulate.
8/26/2015 9:05:27 PM
Man, it's been 8 weeks since since I've been on regular duty. Who has questions?
10/2/2015 3:29:27 PM
^^^ hell, my office takes away vehicles at anywhere between 30-60kIn the year and a half that I've been in my current assignment I've been assigned more cars than a drug dealer: focus, impala, explorer x2, charger, and as of last week, a Chrysler 200. It's a pos but I'm glad to be back in a car that doesn't scream 'police'.
10/2/2015 10:58:33 PM
Fuck the police
11/27/2015 8:57:19 PM
Somebody get fired??
11/27/2015 9:11:06 PM
Nah.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/music/2016/02/18/miami-cops-vow-security-boycott-beyonce-concert-april/80571878/would you say that these officers represent a vocal minority or a majority of police around the country?because this shit is absurd
2/18/2016 9:13:56 PM
i don't blame them, cops have been getting a lot of crap latelyi wouldn't want to sign up for an off duty shift to protect someone who makes a video asking me not to shoot them, like i would shoot them otherwise
2/18/2016 10:20:00 PM
2/18/2016 11:08:44 PM
^^ I still can't tell if you're really that ignorant or just playing a role
2/18/2016 11:11:09 PM
THAT THERE COLORED GIRL SANG IN A SONG "DON'T SHOOT ME". LET'S BOYCOTT HER! YEAH!
2/19/2016 8:56:13 AM
if playing a role is common sense
2/19/2016 5:29:35 PM
I boycott the Fraternal Order of Police whenever one of their paid telemarketers calls me for money.
2/19/2016 5:53:29 PM
I know a guy that received a ticket that says "unlawfully and willfully at a speed in excess of 70mph in a 70mph zone".
2/19/2016 9:32:04 PM
2/20/2016 12:34:18 PM
just reading over the lyrics of the song its a bunch of jibberish, are the police mad that she has hot sauce? I don't get it
2/20/2016 1:02:37 PM
why are cops so fucking sensitivethey're like grown ass babies
2/20/2016 1:50:32 PM
it's not a stretch to link "stop shooting us" to the cops in riot gear in her videoin whatever line of work you happen to be in, if someone pisses you off for any reason at all, i seriously doubt you will be first in line to sign up for overtime to work for that same person. if you do, then good for you, but if you don't then i would understand why you wouldn't want to
2/20/2016 8:00:34 PM
waitof course it's not a stretch"stop shooting us" is clearly meant for the police - this is not up for debatebut I still don't see the problemgood cops should agree with "stop shooting us"

With everything that has unfolded this week, I hear a lot about the need for police reform. Thus, I ask you all what reasonable reforms do you want to see? *like the rest of this thread, let's keep it civil.
7/8/2016 11:12:29 AM
if the police doesn't like the "stop snitching" mantra of the black community, why do they have the same "stop snitching" attitude when it involves their own? that's one thing I'd like to see changed.

I'm bored; lets get this thread rolling again.
9/15/2016 9:43:43 AM
how do you feel about the cop that got fired for not shooting a dude
9/15/2016 10:01:36 AM
Well like other shootings, I don't have any other information then what has been reported in the papers, so I can't make a logical conclusion. On face value, sounds fucked up on the Department part. But, there are always two sides to every story.
9/15/2016 10:06:39 AM
circle those wagons
9/15/2016 10:08:53 AM
lol.
9/15/2016 10:22:53 AM
What are you doing to help fight for social justice, given that if you account for violent crime, black people are less likely to be shot than white people? When will this racist policing end? #HandsUpDontShoot
9/15/2016 12:35:16 PM
When the Unions give it the green light.
9/15/2016 1:24:13 PM
why are there some laws that you enforce by the book and others that you don't?
9/15/2016 5:16:18 PM
Is it hard to remember to turn off your body camera before you shoot a helpless black victim execution style, pig?
9/15/2016 5:44:39 PM
Why are conservatives so cool with police authority? They are tools of the GOVERNMENT!
9/15/2016 6:42:03 PM
9/15/2016 9:07:52 PM
How secretive is your department's policy book? This would be whatever document is referred to whenever a policeman says "this is or is against department policy "The reason I ask is that several of my attorney friends claim that this policy book is something that the public can't really request a copy of. They claim some of the policies are not legal, and the police know it, thus the secrecy.
9/15/2016 9:41:35 PM
sorry but um... ^

As still a relatively new officer on the force (<10 years) do you see a change in the effect that these national stories of police shootings are having on the department? Is there any vocal unease about it or is everyone tight lipped and eyes forward so as not to piss off the chain of command? Do you see more liberal minded officers joining the force or is it still majority who want to play Wyatt Earp?]
9/16/2016 8:19:00 AM
In the last year, I've see about 6 or 7 people leave the Department for regular jobs. That doesn't sound like a lot, but aren't a huge department (~250 sworn). Everyone talks about it. Some get it, some don't. The upper echelon isn't immune and is changing with the time. They have tried some stuff (policy, a required seminar for officers). Again, some works, some doesn't. For me, it's just business as usual.Liberal or conservative, there ain't to many people signing up right now.
