and again... that's no way kaleb tarsuwatsits fault. that'd be the NBA's fault for drafting him.I give no fucks that nba scouts have a hard job. That's their fucking job, and if they suck at it then find someone else who doesn't.This artifical resitriction keeping people in college is fucking dumb. ^that last part is the real crux... given the present situationI have no fucking clue. I'd go to Europe, enjoy a year in a foreign country and dominate some scrubs, then send my tapes back to NBA teams in preperation for the draft.but they shouldnt -HAVE- to go to Europe if they dont want to. I'm still startled you're fighting that ]
2/13/2013 2:31:07 AM
again, they are not being kept in college. They can play pro in Europe.^ Not really the scouts fault, but you have just made them take more risks, which means it is less likely to pay off. But, financially speaking if you're putting out a 2 mil/year contract on the chance that you get a Durant or what not, then why wouldn't you take it?[Edited on February 13, 2013 at 2:34 AM. 2/13/2013 2:32:10 AM
no they're not being kept in college, they're being kept -OUT- of the NBA.
2/13/2013 2:33:14 AM
2/13/2013 2:33:29 AM
Listen, argue all you want but the NBA will not revoke the draft limit.
2/13/2013 2:35:29 AM
cool story
2/13/2013 2:36:08 AM
uhh... no shit?saying it's stupid != saying they're going to change it
2/13/2013 2:36:25 AM
I dont even know why you think that it is a good idea. I could do without an 18 year old sebastian telfair, gerald green, martell webster, etc...[Edited on February 13, 2013 at 2:41 AM. Reason : c]

european scrubs? Uh, what?99% of those kids would go to Europe and eat the bench just like Brandon Jennnings did. Those kids are definitely not good enough to run European professionals except in a select few cases (maybe Lebron for example)I agree the system is a little unfair but it's not like the top guys aren't getting paid. Anthony Davis got a $150k signing bonus at kentucky, no telling what he got while he was there...
better there than here. Better for the NBA and better for the kids because they at least have a contract
2/13/2013 2:41:18 AM
these 'kids' will be fine
2/13/2013 2:43:07 AM
^^ I disagree and it appears 99.9% of the high school kids do too.By going to college they get a ton of things they won't get in Europe1) More exposure2) Get to compete on stacked rosters against less talented players which keeps them from being exposed as overrated3) Coaches who are committed to playing them4) free education as a backup5) a better support system in place to keep them focused, happy, sane, etc6) extra benefits under the table for manyAnd they still get the per diem, free food, housing, clothing, laptops/camcorders, etcGoing to Europe is a lot riskier for a player in my opinion. They can always go to Europe later if they can't hack it in the NBA. When there are millions in guaranteed dollars available I'd take the less risky option and go to college. I'd take out an insurance policy against injury, it simply can't be expensive for a basketball player because the chance of a career ending injury is almost nil. You're more likely to get hurt in an auto accident or something.[Edited on February 13, 2013 at 3:03 AM. Reason : a]
2/13/2013 3:01:54 AM
Well then if that's the case don't make such a big deal about not getting paid.
2/13/2013 3:07:20 AM
Eh, I still think they deserve to be paid. They are definitely being exploited, football players particularly. But if they get paid thats pretty much the death of all the other non revenue sports. Not that I really care either way.

Heyyy guys. It's that unofficial start to college basketball season today!By far my most hated statement about the first Duke UNC game.
2/13/2013 12:17:53 PM
Kentucky's Noel out for the rest of the season with an ACL tear
2/13/2013 1:47:19 PM
Kentucky is NIT-bound without Noel.I have to wonder what's next for Harrow. He wilted under pressure against Florida. Now that Noel is gone, there is even more pressure on him to create on offense and step up as a leader. He doesn't do well in pressure situations. It wouldn't shock me if he comes down with "the flu" again.Next year, does he come back to serve as backup PG?
2/13/2013 3:38:11 PM
hindsight really shows how better suited he would have been here... uptempo run and gun offensebut hey. talk to captain hindsight harrow
2/13/2013 3:56:21 PM
lol
2/13/2013 4:10:11 PM
ha I just came here to post that, there's all sorts of discussions going on now about the 1996 killing of rameses and tuffy's family getting poisoned last year
2/13/2013 4:12:58 PM
'cuse struggling against uconn. should make for an interesting second half.
2/13/2013 7:44:41 PM
This is easily the least anticipated UNC v. Duke game I can remember in at least a decade.
2/13/2013 8:08:58 PM
^seriously...duke fans are kinda quiet cause they dont want to get embarassed...unc fans are quiet because they think they're gonna get blown outat least most of uf get to watch it on cbs with gminski...i could not stand having to watch it out of market on espn with dickie v sucking both programs dicks for 40 minutes]
2/13/2013 8:19:00 PM
should we be pulling for duke bc we beat them once, or should we be pulling for UNC bc we could be beating them twice (which would boost our RPI). the pack fan in me says duke. go to hell carolina.
2/13/2013 8:30:15 PM
fuck unc
2/13/2013 8:32:03 PM
unless a UNC win would secure us 1st place in the ACC final standings, i'll pull for Duke
2/13/2013 8:32:39 PM
Florida State putting up a fight, it'd be great if they can beat Miami.
2/13/2013 8:33:39 PM
i really hope miami sustains a few losses, but i honestly think they won't win @Duke
2/13/2013 8:35:54 PM
I'm too lazy to look, how far is uconn from the rpi top 50?
2/13/2013 8:37:20 PM
uconn is #26 RPI. if they win vs. cuse, it would help us (but i'm a 'cuse fan, so if they lose)
2/13/2013 8:38:32 PM
Leonard Hamilton is such a great coach. Glad he's stuck at FSU.
2/13/2013 8:39:24 PM
Joel James is about to become the second coming of David Robinson after tonight's game.
2/13/2013 8:42:04 PM
Another legendary travel brought to you by Durand Scott.
2/13/2013 8:48:11 PM
Letting FSU hang around is a bad idea with the treatment Snaer gets in the final minutes. Roy would have already sent the team to the locker room.
2/13/2013 8:52:09 PM
When I saw Shane Larken play last year I knew he be good and I'd hate. Both are now true.
2/13/2013 8:54:25 PM
wow. really bad loss for the orange. (good for our RPI).
2/13/2013 9:01:19 PM
woo uconn.
2/13/2013 9:03:23 PM
FSU playing 5 guards in the final minutes.
2/13/2013 9:06:17 PM
That's lame that FSU get's the travel called on Miami in this game after their 5 step travel drive for the win against GT
2/13/2013 9:08:36 PM
snaer sends game to OT?
2/13/2013 9:10:46 PM
Maybe FSU will get called for the shove in the back Miami got away with
2/13/2013 9:11:20 PM
Damn Miami
2/13/2013 9:12:31 PM
Well snaer didn't walk or push off this time. He also missed the rim completely.
2/13/2013 9:12:49 PM
I really hate Reggie Johnson. IDK why though.
2/13/2013 9:13:23 PM
Why couldn't Duke play like this last week?
2/13/2013 9:14:00 PM
