NC State, where if our guy didn't win, we have to justify it with a paper thin excuse instead of entertaining the possibility that the other guy just might have been better.
11/28/2011 4:06:52 PM
Hey guy, I didn't say he was awful, I just said that he wasn't that good. He's got one of the best arms out there but there's something about him that separates him from the really good QBs. It might just be that our offensive line hasn't been very strong and it is reflecting poorly on Glennon. As someone who doesn't get paid to analyze footage I can't tell.[Edited on November 28, 2011 at 4:13 PM. Reason : .]

As much as I like Glennon, I'm not sure if he'd deserve the honorable mention4th in the ACC in Passing yds/game7th in Pass Efficiency9th in yds per attempt4th in TD/INT ratio2nd in TD's responsible for by a QB (passing + rushing TD's)stats taken fromhttp://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/stats/byposition?pos=QB&conference=I-A_ACC&sort=30[Edited on November 28, 2011 at 4:16 PM. Please tell me what QB in their first season as the starter at NCSU had a better season than Glennon did this year? Check these lines out before you say anything:QB 237 441 53.7 3054 6.9 7.0 25 10 126.1QB 150 275 54.5 1955 7.1 8.2 17 1 133.9QB 262 420 62.4 2790 6.6 6.8 28 11 134.9

Just because he had a season that qualifies as "the best rookie season that an NC State QB has had" doesn't automatically place him as an honorable mention for All-ACC, though. Having a great "first" season in your fourth year in the program is significantly less impressive than a true freshman performing comparably.Like when Rodgers took over in Green Bay, it was already his fourth season there.
11/28/2011 4:19:31 PM
for russell's #s you have to include his rushing yds and 4 rushing TDs and also remember he didnt start until the 4th game of the season

The Rivers stats are a lot better (look at the yards per completion) and Russell Wilson was known for his third down play-making capabilities (this is what kept us in games in 2010) while also being able to throw the ball... So Glennon can throw the ball as good as a 5'11" QB who most people said would never go to the NFL? That doesn't bode well for Glennon.Take off the blinders.
11/28/2011 4:59:03 PM
some people are just going to hate glennon no matter how well he does becuase of their hard-on for russell's penisEDIT: Although i think i've been convinced that he shouldn't have received honorable mention. He's still in the top half of ACC QBs though.[Edited on November 28, 2011 at 5:16 PM. Reason : ]

Hey guy, I'm not your guy...guy.
11/28/2011 5:23:02 PM
I do agree that he is in the top half of ACC QBs, yes. That would be hard to argue against.
11/28/2011 5:27:17 PM
Wait, you still think Rivers numbers are way better than Glennon? They are almost identical. Same completions, 2 more attempts. PR averaged a yard more per pass but Glennon threw for 8 more TDs and only 1 more pick. You seriously aren't saying that they aren't A LOT better are you?
11/28/2011 6:03:32 PM
PR: 18 y/oGlennon: 21 y/o w/ 3 years of being with the programIf we ignore these very important facts, then yes his numbers are in the ballpark of PR's outside of PR's +2.15 yards per completion advantage
11/28/2011 6:16:04 PM
^ The last set of numbers are from both player's junior years. Learn to read.EDIT: Not too mention PR was throwing to Jerricho Cotchery, Tramain Hall, Sean Berton, Dick Washington, and Brian Clark etc. [Edited on November 28, 2011 at 9:03 PM. Reason : 3 future NFL players]

Looks like you posted the same stupid shit 3-4 times, so it was prob hard to tell esp bc no one gives a shit about your pelican of Glennon. pelican where one places a person's dick and balls in their mouth at the same time[Edited on November 28, 2011 at 10:04 PM. And Rivers had TA for a few of those years, so we weren't throwing nearly as often in the red zone. Mclendon, for all his injuries still scored a lot of touchdowns and we had a much more balanced offense than we currently do.
11/28/2011 10:09:04 PM
i thought you were a boob-man. what's with all the dick references?
11/28/2011 10:31:46 PM
TA WAS IN
11/28/2011 10:36:14 PM
Some of you guys will find something wrong with everyone, hell you probably saw things wrong with PR. Not too mention you don't like a coach that's 16-9 in 2 years at NCSU. This QB we are discussing is tied for the most TDs thrown in the ACC and tied the third highest season TD total in school history. With 3 more in the bowl, he would tie RW's record for 2nd most. Keep in mind all of this is without our best offensive player all year.[Edited on November 28, 2011 at 11:10 PM. Reason : Boobs acts like he is Jay Davis ]
11/28/2011 11:08:08 PM
More like, Rivers never went down on his knee at the half. He ran down the field unopposed, and some idiot ref who couldn't see whistled the play dead because he THOUGHT he saw Rivers take a knee.Against Maryland.Go figure.

the schedule on the first post of this thread is horrendously inaccurate

^ha, I completely forgot about that. That prediciton was based on the fact that I thought the first post was the order...meaning if we had played UNC 5th, we'd put everything into that game and lose the rest of the way out.I was kind of right since we did shut the bed against BC the following week...when I was at the game

rivers may have thrown to his RBs a lot in the flats, but he at least could hit a downfield receiver in stride consistently. Glennon really hasn't shown that ability
11/29/2011 8:57:51 AM
wow, just now reading this glennon debate itt. in all honestly, the answer is somewhere in the middle. did he blow everyone away this year? absolutely not. was he extremely capable and showed promise? absolutely yes. considering he was a huge question mark entering this season, and quickly showed himself to be reliable, says a lot. i dunno, maybe i'm still remembering the days of beck/evans/burke, etc, but i'm quite happy with glennon and think he'll be one of the strengths of this team next year. will he be a heisman candidate who re-writes the record books? naw. but he'll be good enough for us to win.
11/29/2011 9:10:07 AM
(he's already kinda re-writing the history books )

It's from James Henderson, so take it with a grain of salt, but rumor has it that the S&C coach is fired.

11/30/2011 2:42:15 PM
what did the old s&c coach do, just kick everyone in the knees?
11/30/2011 2:42:36 PM
Wow. I hope they get someone competent. I'm amazed TOb let them get rid of him since it seems that O'Brien has carried him since BC
11/30/2011 2:47:51 PM
i heard the old football s&c coach made them stick their feet under the bleachers and do sit-ups while pulling their neck with their hands, and old-school stretches like bending over and touching their toes. does anybody remember "picking beans" from elementary school p.e. teachers that was terrible for your back? i heard he made our players do that too.[Edited on November 30, 2011 at 2:49 PM. 11/30/2011 2:54:39 PM
If anyone ever took a shot to the groin, the old S&C coach would make them sit on the ground, then he'd lift them up and drop them back on their ass, so their testicles would come out of their stomach. He made them eat raw eggs before every game too.[Edited on November 30, 2011 at 3:13 PM. Reason : ]
