5/12/2010 1:02:06 PM
I've got the apks for what I believe is the latest beta version of Swype if anyone is interested. I've got one specific to the Droid and one for the N1 .
5/12/2010 1:13:50 PM
i'll need swype for the evo once i get it next month...getting used to not having a hardware keyboard is going to be tough...
5/12/2010 1:20:46 PM
yeah and nueUSBKeyboard is > *

Here is a themed version of Swype for just about EVERY ANDROID PHONE:http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?/topic/2576-mod-blackswype-themed-swype/Just pick your color for the resolution of your phone. Not sure if it was the app or my download but I was not having luck with the Cyanogen Edition. I have used Blue, Red and Gold on 4 different android phones (Droid, Nexus One, G1 and the Moment) that worked flawlessly.

The wait is over - HTC EVO 4G is coming June 4th Tonight, at a special event in New York, we announced HTC EVO 4G will be available exclusively from Sprint on June 4th. Hesse’s announcement was made to a large gathering of bloggers, wireless media, tech influencers and large business customers.Customers have been responding to our HTC EVO 4G pre-registration site at a very impressive clip the past two months. You can still pre-register at http://www.sprint.com/evo to get the latest info on the phone up to launch day. 5/12/2010 6:39:06 PM
i've been meaning to get swype.
5/12/2010 6:41:39 PM
http://www.engadget.com/2010/05/12/sprints-htc-evo-4g-put-through-its-bandwidth-sucking-paces/just sexy - i have to wait until i get back from south africa though to get rid of my touch pro2 due to no sim card slot
5/12/2010 9:23:34 PM
fuck $10 extra?!
5/12/2010 9:42:17 PM
So does the "richer data experience" just include 4G?
5/12/2010 9:55:23 PM
Yeah and they charge what like $30 a month extra for a hotspot? I knew this thing was gonna cost an arm and a leg, it was just too good to be true.
5/12/2010 10:34:54 PM
5/12/2010 10:34:56 PM
^Yup, you are paying the $10 extra per month to access 4G content on the phone (mandatory fee). The $29 hotspot fee is optional, but still half than Verizon charges for PAM.
5/12/2010 10:35:49 PM
5/12/2010 10:51:34 PM
Not happy about the $10 bullshit fee either, but whatever...I think theres a 15% discount for students at State? Would bring it down to only a few bucks more than Im paying for my first-gen iPhone.
5/13/2010 12:31:42 AM
Yeah I'll be applying a 22% EMP code to soften the blow. $10/mo manditory 4G when I'll never be in a coverage area will fucking blow, but maybe I can get a nice SERO conversion with a loyalty discount instead. We'll see. I'm getting the damn phone regardless haha.
5/13/2010 2:10:13 AM
i'm not positive but i thought the wording made it sound like you only get charged if you're in a 4g market
5/13/2010 6:56:43 AM
well i mean you could trick that system because of nationwide roaming.what if you simply drive through a city that has 4g coverage? do you get the $10 fee then? it'd be far too messy to implement something like that imo.
5/13/2010 7:40:22 AM
FUCK YEAH!Android 2.2 'Froyo' to include USB tethering, WiFi hotspot functionalityhttp://www.engadget.com/2010/05/13/android-2-2-froyo-to-include-usb-tethering-wifi-hotspot-funct/
5/13/2010 9:10:55 AM
I hope they can fix the issue of not being able to accept calendar invitations from the phone.
5/13/2010 9:52:02 AM
guess i've got to go to best buy to pre-order minehttp://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/2010/05/best_buy_accepts_pre-orders_for_htc_evo_4g_smartphone.html
5/13/2010 11:52:11 AM
Will best buy be able to keep my discount on my sprint plan if I buy the phone and renew my contract at the store? Im currently out of contract but get a 25% employee discount that I dont want to lose. Not having to deal with the MIR will be nice.*Ive never bought a cell phone or dealt with contracts at best buy so this might be a stupid question[Edited on May 13, 2010 at 12:47 PM. Reason : *]
5/13/2010 12:46:59 PM
^Your discount will be fine.
5/13/2010 2:03:40 PM
I will hardly ever be in a 4G zone and wouldnt mind paying hte extra 10 bucks if they had free hotspot. Adding 30 dollars more is just too much. I was all set to come out of my SERO for this phone, but Ill wait a bit longer. (at least until I hear people are using free hotspot on the EVO)
5/13/2010 3:30:11 PM
I came to see if anyone used my link to get a themed swype... no comments.. made me sad. Then I realized that it might because of all the posts of awesome news for android... this made me happy again.
5/13/2010 3:32:37 PM
oh i will use it as soon as i get my evoi bookmarked it
5/13/2010 3:38:52 PM
i use the themed swype on CM, it's about the sickest thing i've seen in a long time.
5/13/2010 4:12:07 PM
my wife is getting here droid eris tomorrow. i'm guessing it will not come with 2.1. when it does how do i upgrade for her?
5/13/2010 4:43:50 PM
^you return it and buy her a 4th gen iPhone in June I, kid, I kid, before you google fanboys get your panties in a bunch.
5/13/2010 4:44:40 PM

5/14/2010 8:36:46 AM
fuck i really can't afford to pay $120 extra per year on top of $200 for the phone...that's just ludicrous... i may not get the phone after all
5/14/2010 8:53:02 AM
Samsung moment's 2.1 upgrade is out http://phandroid.com/2010/05/13/is-this-the-samsung-moment-update-weve-all-been-waiting-for/Haven't installed it yet, but have it downloaded.
5/14/2010 10:27:48 AM
^^^ ha, if you're jealous of the Eris, you'd probably kill yourself if she had the Incredible or the Evo in a few weeks. As for screen shots, you either have to root and use an app like drocap2, download one of the home replacements (can't remember which one has that feature), or use the android sdk (only one that doesn't require root).
5/14/2010 10:39:16 AM
ok thanks!! is there a google chat app? can't find one.
5/14/2010 10:40:04 AM
^i used the SDK (ddms.bat) as for the google chat (called google talk) app, it's called Talk, just look under your apps already installed for the Talk icon, it's under "T", should be installed by default.
5/14/2010 11:18:13 AM
^^i think it's called google talk[Edited on May 14, 2010 at 11:21 AM. Reason : the app, that is]
5/14/2010 11:18:23 AM
I THINK ITS CALLED GOOGLE TALK
5/14/2010 11:19:23 AM
There should be a GOOGLE TALK app
5/14/2010 11:46:28 AM

5/14/2010 11:56:12 AM

5/14/2010 12:09:19 PM
^^^^^^^^^^^^Its just TalkYou can see the icon in one of the screenshots a few post up. It is the second screenshot. top row of icons. right hand side.
5/14/2010 12:14:20 PM
