found the Aprihop last night...freakin LOVE it. very well balanced fruit taste with good hops. Will go buy more tonight.also drank a Midas Touch. interesting beer, but not my style. too wine-ish for my liking, but i did like the saffron in it. definitely a good beer for those who like a saison-style. thats what it reminded me of.
3/24/2011 3:42:57 PM
I, too, like Modus Hoperandi
3/24/2011 3:43:51 PM
I'm amazed by how many calls I have to field about KBS and Hopslam, but hardly any other specific beers. They're damn good beers, but not OMGWTFBBQ!!
3/24/2011 3:46:25 PM
i saw the full keg of KBS just sitting in the cooler last night. I felt like i was in that scene from Home Alone with kevin in the basement with the furnace. It was just glaring at me making noises.
3/24/2011 3:54:38 PM
^where when why how ?!
3/24/2011 4:03:11 PM

3/24/2011 4:26:13 PM

3/24/2011 4:43:09 PM
had an old rasputin last nightgreat beer, has some really nice hops for a stout...
3/24/2011 5:14:03 PM
Went to Foot Hills last Saturday night. Finally got to try the Seeing Double IPA, and it was great. As a double IPA at near 10% ABV it had a good bitterness, but there was also a citrus after taste present that was a nice finish.Had the grilled bacon and pimento cheese sandwich for dinner, accompanied by a Torch pilsner.
3/24/2011 5:32:21 PM
Busy Bee's 2 year anniversary sounds epic. 8 barrel aged beer, one specialty brew from Terrapin.
3/24/2011 8:26:30 PM
3/24/2011 11:44:05 PM
finally tried the foothills hoppyum tonight. It was good, but I wasn't terribly impressed.Disclaimer: I'm not a huge IPA fan[Edited on March 25, 2011 at 2:19 AM. Reason : ]

had a number of beers last night:1) Modus Hoperandi - fantastic IPA2) Bells Cream Stout Ale- excellent 3) Foothills Seeing Double- i liked it, but it had a heavier body than I typically like with an IPA4) Foothills Sexual Chocolate- very tasty5) Thomas Creek Up the Creek (12.5% black IPA...pretty good!)ps: i got drunk[Edited on March 25, 2011 at 12:03 PM. 3/26/2011 6:09:12 PM
That tommyknocker is tasty, but has the alcohol content of a light beer.
3/26/2011 6:21:37 PM
Little Hump Spring Ale is pretty damn good
3/26/2011 7:26:04 PM
...as is Ommegang Abbey Ale.
3/26/2011 8:21:42 PM
had some Bell's Amber & New Holland Mad Hatter, the Bell's Amber was nice and sweet not too bitter for an amber, better than most I think.

3/27/2011 5:49:00 PM
haha, I thought old chub was rough. of course, i'd been drinking for hours in the hot sun and already drunk by the time I opened it... old chub put me out now "you got old chubbed" is a favorite saying of mine for when someone unexpectedly gets hit hard by a beer]
3/27/2011 5:51:06 PM
^^^When I did the tour at Big Boss one of the employees told us that canning was the best thing for your beer (they don't do it because they already have so much money sunk in bottling equipment). I don't mind cans at all.
3/27/2011 6:26:01 PM
yup-that is why oscar blues does itno light gets to the beer, better seal, and it allows the beer to chill faster. I wish there was a feasible way to can at home (or for small level brewerys).
3/27/2011 6:30:31 PM
I enjoy an Alagash White.
3/27/2011 6:32:43 PM
Last night, I had a Kwak (in it's crazy glass) and an Allagash White at Tyler's in Durham. Tasty.
3/27/2011 7:21:10 PM
Charlotte Saucer has started AmeriCAN Fridays with all canned craft offerings at $4 . With Avery starting to can their year round offerings they now have a pretty decent selection from Avery, Oskar Blues, Ska Brewing, and a couple more. I'll probably always be a bottle guy (until the day I see a canned 22oz bomber) but it's cool to see more taking the chance on canning
