yes... if Texas doesnt even make it to their Conference Championship game and Florida wins the SEC Championship game then they would jump, no way the National Champ. game would be between two teams from the same conference, much less division

the BCS fun will begin if TT and Alabama both lose in their conference championships.

esp since that means TT will have beaten both OU and UT but still have 1 loss... coupled with Florida, Penn State, USC, and heaven forbid a 12-0 Utah team

although utah's sos makes them pretty insignificant as far as the NC goes

true but if say utah and boise state finish as the only unbeatens they can at least make a small argument that they deserve to play in the game or be considered with the rest of em.

The SEC is pretty damn serious, good lawd!

Quote :
"EVERGREEN, Ala. (AP) — A man and woman were shot dead after an argument that witnesses said started over an Alabama-LSU football game, but sheriff's investigators said Monday they continued to investigate the motive.

The Conecuh County sheriff's office identified the victims as Dennis James Smith, 41, and Donna Kaye Hall Smith, 39, of Brewton. The two were shot to death about 7 p.m. Saturday in the rural community of Owassa in southern Alabama.

Michael W. Williams, 28, was arrested and charged with two counts of murder over the shooting at his home, where he had watched the game. He was being held Monday without bond. A sheriff's investigator handling the case did not know if he had an attorney.

An investigator said Monday that people watching the game at Williams' home said the dispute was over the game, which Alabama won 27-21 in overtime Saturday, but an investigation into the motive was not complete. The investigator also said alcohol may have been a factor.

According to witness accounts to investigators, Dennis Smith, an LSU fan, called Williams, an Alabama fan, after the game, and the Smiths then went to Williams' home, where a physical altercation led to the shooting.

Investigators said Dennis Smith had a pistol and Williams had a shotgun and fired.

Authorities said Donna Smith was a relative of Williams' girlfriend.

Relatives of both the victims and the suspect either declined comment or did not immediately return phone messages Monday from The Associated Press. "

The Duke-Clemson game, produced in HD, will be moved to the WRAL Newschannel, the worst SD quality channel ever, in order to cover some tornado damage, even though the tornadoes are long gone and nothing new is actually happening.

The Navy-Notre Dame will be completely unavailable, while FOX50 will have some paid programming and an American Idol rerun. Who makes these decisions really?

dook/clemson, tosu/illinois, & michigan/northwestern are really the only games we can watch in this area til 330? this slate of noon games ranks somewhere between tnt's offering of the ya ya sisterhood & tbs' cinematic masterpiece Matilda

navy is putting on a clinic

of how not to block for the run....this shit is killing me. if we could get any blocks down, this game has the potential to be a blow out. instead we've forced 2 ND punts, forced 2 turnovers, and have 0 points and 2 first downs

the navy-nd game could have been good if navy wasn't relying on it's first string slotback as a quarterback

7 points in a half when you force 3 punts, 2 ints and a fumble is not good

navy's defense has played ~2 games worth of time because of the failure of the offense to do much

weis called off the dogs with about 10 mins left in the game...that's the only reason why navy got back in that game. his offense straight dominated navy in the 3rd quarter and their first team defense was havoc on the navy o-line for most of the game

weis really respects the Navy-ND game and I give him props for calling off the dogs like he did and not wanting to run up the score. but i think he learned his lesson and will look for at least one more TD before doing so next year

Nice try?

What the fuck are you talking about?

The officials only put 6 seconds back on the clock after that incomplete pass that ran 45 seconds off (it was ruled complete and in bounds)...that's pretty shitty.

They lost 39 seconds thanks to shitty reviewing by the officials. The pass was incomplete with 2:24 on the clock, and it was reviewed at 1:39.

That was a terrible mistake by the refs but not the reason we lost. This was just another example of Butch and staff sitting on a lead and playing conservatively. That marks the 3rd game this season this has happened and we're lucky that the Notre Dame and Miami games didn't go the same way. I absolutely despise rushing 3 or 4 and dropping everyone else into a soft zone every damn play. There is never any pressure on the QB so he has all day to sit in the pocket. Withers at least needs to switch it up occasionally. Sexton had a terrible game again and I can't imagine any reason Yates won't start next week against State.

Barth, or any FG kicker should never miss a 30 yard FG

But I do agree UNC was not aggressive enough. Dropped interceptions, missed opportunities for sacks, not defending the run, and horrible, HORRIBLE accuracy from Sexton.

I'm thinking he still must be injured pretty bad. Because Sexton was HORRIBLE.

If Yates is at least 75%...he should play next week. Personally...I wish they'd keep Sexton.

Yates played a series against GT last week but looked like he wasn't very mobile yet. I think the rain-soaked field may have been part of the reason he didn't play because the loose footing could possibly lead to him re-injuring his ankle. I've got to believe that he would've played the 2nd half otherwise since Sexton was so terrible today.
