Wow you're the first person to ever come into this thread and troll. Very clever and original. Except that this thread has been around since 2004 and has been pretty much the same group of people posting in it the whole time.

bad sports week for this guy
10/11/2009 2:59:23 PM
its funny gforce only comes and trolls when the Yankees are looking pretty dominant. I still think LaRussa is a terrible big game manager.
10/11/2009 3:04:19 PM
Bump...looks like Cards add Brad Penny to the rotation.
12/8/2009 12:02:33 PM
Fuck no I thought we were making a move on Lackey? They better not let Piniero go to get this piece of shit.[Edited on December 8, 2009 at 2:30 PM. Reason : Dave Duncan project version infinity?]
12/8/2009 2:27:50 PM
I thought Duncan was on the way out b/c of the way the fans/organization treated Chris, who was fucking garbage these last few years. At least thats what may St. Louis relatives say. Oh well, wouldn't trust the organization to do something smart anytime soon. I can't remember the last big off season move for the cards, besides not signing guys like Renteria, Rolen, and Eckstein. (I know rolen wanted out and renteria kinda blows now but still).
12/8/2009 2:37:38 PM
Duncan's back because La Russa is back, no?I totally agree on the moves, I have already conceited that we are letting Piniero and Holliday walk even though both were great for us this year.
12/8/2009 3:20:48 PM
I don't know about Duncan. I'd just prefer that he stay. We need to keep Holliday, badly, at all costs.
12/8/2009 4:19:13 PM
^ kept Holliday! and how's about this:

Not that he was good last year, but it would be nice to have Ankiel back as well. I missed his arm in CF.[Edited on January 8, 2010 at 8:24 AM. Reason : ]
1/8/2010 8:24:15 AM
Yeah I completely forgot about Rick...I haven't seen or heard anything on him coming back or not.The backup OFers now would be Joe Mather and Nick Stavinoha so yeah he would be nicer than those two.

Cards vs Mets 1pm MLB NetworkMinor-leaguer Evan MacLane will start Thursday's game against the Mets. Starters for the next five games: Brad Penny Friday vs. the Mets; Kyle Lohse Saturday vs. the Marlins; McClellan Sunday vs. the Marlins; Carpenter Monday at the Red Sox and Adam Wainwright Tuesday at the Twins.

Skip hit .304 last year and plays pretty solid 2B after moving from OF.Rasmus has all the ability in the world to step up, I mean they cut ties with Ankiel for him to play everyday.

Bump Jaime Garcia!Where you guys been without me? We're off to a good start. Lineup looks solid, rotation better than I thought with Penny and Garcia lights out, and the bullpen is doing its job so far.
4/29/2010 11:08:05 AM
Good win.... maybe our best effort of the year.Penny and Lohse are out for a bit. Personally Lohse could get his arm cut off tomorrow and I would care less (from a fan point of view.) That guy is a major rotation downer.
5/23/2010 7:34:40 PM
Yeah and the fool is getting like $10 million a year based on one good season ever....sadness.We need to trade for another bat or another starter or we have no shot at Philly.
5/24/2010 1:05:56 AM
That was by far the worst series of the year. I have always detested our bullpen but they should seriously be shot after this series.
7/9/2010 1:43:34 AM
I wish Holliday hit like he does against his old teams all the time. He went bonkers against Colorado and Oakland. Seriously if anything it shows how crazy playing at Coors Field is. Some of those homeruns wouldn't have been out at most parks. But we do need to turn things around.
7/9/2010 10:14:32 AM
any news on possible trades?
7/9/2010 11:13:19 AM
I was in St. Louis for the weekend of the 4th watching them play the brewers. Went to both games thinking I'd see our best on the mound and I was only half right. Horrible fucking outing by Carp on saturday. Got some good pics...will poast if I remember later.
7/9/2010 3:12:31 PM
Got back from St. Louis tonight. This was my first trip to new Busch!!! What a time to go. Got to see Waino win Saturday, Holliday walk off Sunday, Homerun Derby Monday and Carpenter dominate last night. I'll post some pics too when I get a chance. 1.5 games up now with Ludwick about to be ready.
7/22/2010 2:10:11 AM
Read this. Also, what a shitshow of a game tonight. Fuck the Reds. Fuck Jake Westbrook for Ryan Ludwick. And fuck Aaron Miles.
8/4/2010 3:32:11 AM
Westbrook has been solid in two starts? Someone was going to get moved with our young OFers and it wasn't going to be Colby or Holliday. Pretty funny stuff with the fight today and the win putting us tied or ahead if you go by the loss column.
8/11/2010 1:13:38 AM
I felt damn good about that series. The sweep is always nice, a sweep in a pennant race is even better, but with the shit talkin and the fight it was freakin sweet. Honestly, the way this team has played all year I didn't think they had that kinda fight in them but it sounded like they found some motivation.
8/12/2010 3:29:04 PM
If we had even an average bullpen we'd have a 5 game cushion at least.
8/12/2010 6:20:25 PM
^^^yeah, I was pretty tanked when I wrote that. Westbrook's been good, and the Chief Justice has BABIP'd his way to a .372 average, so OF production hasn't really dropped off. But I was and am still sad to see Ryan go.^which team are you talking about? It looks like the Cards have the fifth-lowest bullpen ERA in the league, and the lowest in the Central--http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/pitching/split/128/league/nland the fewest blown saves in the league--http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/pitching/split/128/league/nl/sort/blownSaves/type/expanded/order/true.If we had an "average bullpen," we wouldn't be in first right now.[Edited on August 12, 2010 at 6:50 PM. Reason : .]
8/12/2010 6:47:07 PM
Does it count as a blown save when they tank a 5 run lead in the 8th? That stat really surprises me. Maybe its seemed worse because of a few fuck horrible losses they've had. Or maybe nobody has a bullpen worth a shit. But to be fair, our defense leaves a lot to be desired outside of Molina and Pujols. Holliday is garbage, and our infield statistics I promise are better because of the incredible footwork and glove we have digging balls out of the dirt at first base.[Edited on August 12, 2010 at 11:14 PM. 8/12/2010 11:11:33 PM
Every game I watch or every time I see a stat line it seems like we give up a significant amount of runs in the 7th inning on. Maybe I am blind, but after watching the Colorado series and several other games where we gave up leads in the 8th or 9th inning.... it just seems to be much worse than in previous years. Not only that, it just seems like we hardly ever have a stat line that shows straight zeros in the latter innings unless our starters finish things.Just a few recent games in which we gave up a (often sizable) lead that either cost us the win or forced us into extra innings:Florida (Aug 7): http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=300807128NYM (Jul 28): http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=300728121Colorado (Jul 7): http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=300707127Colorado (Jul 6): http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=300706127Arizona (Jun 13): http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=300613129

Kyle McClellan is one of the best set-up men in MLB and future closer Motte had a good year going before the injury. He had what a 30 inning scoreless streak and McClellan has given up like 1 ER all year at home.[Edited on August 12, 2010 at 11:58 PM. Reason : In general though I think bullpens are down. Not as many top notch like San Diego now]
8/12/2010 11:57:25 PM
Ok now I'm pretty sure the LLWS team from Japan or Hawaii could shut us out. WTF is going on with this team? 6 back of the Reds and 3 or more out of the WC.
