You shouldn't need the phone after the initial account set up.And looks like I'm getting the 2nd load decline that others have. Guess I'll have to call and submit documentation to verify identity.
9/22/2014 12:41:55 PM
Yeah, had to do that as well.
9/22/2014 12:46:47 PM
ha nm. It was just a fraud alert. Went through when I tried again after selecting that I recognized the transaction from the fraud email alert Chase sent.]
9/22/2014 1:04:57 PM
Note to self: when verifying an account, don't do both on the same day. Then you can't figure out which amounts go to which account.

If anyone wants to open up a Chase Sapphire Preferred card...you can get 40,000 points if I "invite" you. I think their normal sign-up bonus is 30,000 points. PM me if you want to sign up.
9/25/2014 1:00:23 PM
Their normal bonus is 40,000 pts.https://creditcards.chase.com/sapphire
9/25/2014 1:23:53 PM
ha. Someone got the 5k pt per person you refer email eh. And dang. $50 direct deposit bonus credited the same day they posted. Now hopefully this charge from today posts before the 30th so I get the $20 bonus for spending $40 or more on the Serve card.
9/25/2014 1:34:00 PM
^^ Just noticed that in the graphic a few pages back. I thought I only got 30k. ^ And yes.
9/25/2014 1:38:30 PM
David0603How are you transferring money from Serve to your bank account?
9/29/2014 2:17:04 PM
Settings -> Withdraw Funds -> Transfer to Bank[Edited on September 29, 2014 at 2:58 PM. Reason : http://www.frugalhack.me/send-money-serve-bank/]

$20 Amazon gift card for adding an eligible card to Softcard and using tap to pay. Looks like it works with each card too. Amex personal cards, Chase (Freedom, Sapphire, Ink) and Wells Fargo. Gonna try it out today. https://www.paywithisis.com/offers/addacard.html
10/2/2014 8:21:41 AM
I DON'T GET ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
10/2/2014 1:09:43 PM
hmmm...rumor has it that Chase is now coding Serve loads as a cash advance as of today. I sent $200 on my Sapphire Preferred and it doesn't look like it was a cash advance so who knows.
10/2/2014 1:30:35 PM
I want to do the new Ink card with the 70k UR points. My dad agreed to get me to the $5k spend. hollerrrrr
10/2/2014 5:28:13 PM
^^ That is a real bummer if every card load ends up being CA. Especially with AP going down right now too.
10/2/2014 10:26:39 PM
Link?
10/3/2014 10:04:14 AM
Just discussion on FT. Seems like it's happening mostly with Chase cards at the moment and conversations with reps is that Serve changed the merchant codes. I've been doing my Arrival+ but I think I'll hold off for a bit.
10/3/2014 10:24:46 AM
I used it for my chase british airways last month, but I would have been hit with a cash advance if the merchant codes had been changed, right?
10/3/2014 10:41:46 AM
By now, yeah. This is new as of 10/1 I think.
10/3/2014 10:42:38 AM
yeah, seems to be 10/2 and later. I sent $200 yesterday just playing it safe but it's still pending. Should post sometime today and guess we'll see if I get a fee. Been a busy month so I can't tell anything from the "available for cash advance" amount since it's equal to my available credit. Gonna hurt to pay the credit card bill this month. ]
10/3/2014 11:49:48 AM
I hear ya. Just paid off about 4K today and that's mid statement b/c of a stupid 2K limit on the damn chase card.

Posted as the usual Online, Mail, or Telephone transaction so guess everyone was freaking out over nothing. Dumbasses were calling Chase so I'm sure it's only a matter of time before it stops working.
10/4/2014 8:12:58 AM
okay I wasn't instantly approved for the Ink Plus card, hoping I don't have to call any re-con lines. I realized right after I submitted that I should probably have done what others were recommending, which was to go for the Ink Bold card (which has a 50k bonus) since apparently it's going away soon. Then hope that the 70k award comes back around later.
10/7/2014 11:30:38 AM
Recon line isn't that bad. They just ask what your "business" is and how much you expect to make. Think I was on there for maybe 5 min when I applied. That was ~2yrs ago but doubt much has changed.
10/7/2014 12:58:50 PM
How much credit does everyone have with Chase? I think I maxed it out at least for now. I've got about ~40k right now.
10/7/2014 1:26:59 PM
I'm at ~$50k
10/7/2014 1:27:54 PM
I have about 25K personal 22K biz
10/7/2014 2:42:46 PM
I have 18k with Chase on personal and 5k business.Tried to get the slate card to put a large hospital bill on and spread the payments out but got the form email back, not sure why yet. I really want to dump the Mariott Card since my wife does not travel for work anymore and it is not being used, does anyone know the number to call to move available credit to a different card?]
10/7/2014 3:06:50 PM
Just call the number on the back of the CC
10/7/2014 3:10:02 PM
Yeah that number usually sends you directly to an agent. I actually just got the Slate card because we just moved cross country into a new apartment about bought ~$5k of new shit. Going to pay it off over a year. The 0% interest and no balance transfer fee is nice. Currently have the Chase Preferred, Marriott, and the Slate. I still hold onto the Marriott because I still stay at Marriotts. Although it's really challenging to use the free night because literally no where I'd want to go has a category 5 or under Marriott unless I stay near an airport or something. There's almost no point using the Marriott card over the Preferred card unless it's at an actual Marriott because you get 2 points per dollar with travel/dining with the preferred that you can transfer directly to Marriott if needed.
10/7/2014 3:16:44 PM
^ Everything you just wrote was my experience with Marriott card too. Only way to bank points with it is if you can expense lots of business travel and run it all through the card. My wife got away with that some at her last job, but they really wanted her to book everything on her company card which meant she could not get the points X5 deal, only the points for the actual stay that Marriott would load. So then the card ended up being mainly for personal purchases which piled on to the points being loaded by Marriott, but then they watered down the points program so that a night at a fucking Fairfield is like 20k points. When they added "category 9" pretty much every hotel went up a category making the points even less valuable. The card is good to help you maintain Gold status at Mariott for free upgrades and stuff, but if you casually travel its not worth it, you are just never gonna get to where there is a return unless you charge a lot of Marriott stays on the card.
10/7/2014 4:28:17 PM
Yeah and I only use my Marriott card for actual Marriott stays now. There's no point putting non-Marriott purchases on it because it's only 1 point per dollar and it's a Marriott point which isn't worth that much. It's much better to use something like the Preferred card where you get 2 points per dollar that you can convert to many programs (including Marriott). Now last year I probably had 50-60+ nights at a Marriott and I've got platinum. Plus all their summer, fall, etc bonus programs are great. e.g. stay 25 nights within these three months and get 50k points, etc. I had over 300k Marriott points at one point in time. I dump them all at the Vail Marriott. It's 40k/night but when I go the rooms usually go for $600-700/night. That's 1.5 cents a dollar which isn't bad. But yeah I'd only recommend the Marriott card if you travel for work and stay at a lot of Marriotts. fyi the Raleigh Marriott is cat. 5 I believe and you can use your free night there. As is the Charlotte one. If you want to stay at a hotel in downtown Raleigh or Charlotte ...
10/7/2014 4:40:42 PM
Where's a good place to use the free anniversary hyatt night?
10/7/2014 5:06:03 PM
Its getting more and more difficult to get any cashback rewards of decent value. Just learned today that apparently next year is the last year I'll get the 15k bonus points on Amex Premiere Gold after spending 30k. Just cancelled the SPG Amex card as well. SPG diluted the point schedule so bad about 1.5 years ago, I'm lucky to get much better than 1:1. I still have about 50k points banked, but they'll be shot in 1-2 nights at any decent hotel.
10/8/2014 4:20:01 PM
How many points did you get total from that 30k spend? That's a shitload of spending... How about that Chase Ink Plus card where you can get 70k points for a 5k spend? I feel like those 70k points are worth around $1k if you sell them, and maybe more if you transfer to Southwest.
10/8/2014 4:33:45 PM
ugh haven't heard back re: the Ink Plus card. I'm SO NERVOUS I'm sweating
10/8/2014 4:55:58 PM
Yeah, I never understood spending so much on one card if you were churning.Last churn I got the citi card for $200 and discover for $150 back but I've essentially given up on cashback rewards. It's just way more lucrative to get into the pts/miles game.
10/8/2014 5:26:11 PM
Yeah and with something like Chase points you can use them on Amazon.com anyway so it's almost the same as cash back.
10/8/2014 5:28:09 PM
10/8/2014 5:44:16 PM
Don't I have to wait until I've been officially rejected? And I'm not good at lying. So I should just say I have an etsy business selling various crafty items and I project bringing in $10k this year?
10/8/2014 10:07:37 PM
No, yes
10/8/2014 10:17:02 PM
10/8/2014 11:41:32 PM
I already sold ~100k American points to Bruce for $1500. I'm holding onto my Chase points for actual flights. I was just saying theoretically if you wanted cash back then spending Chase points at Amazon.com is very similar for 2 points/$.
10/8/2014 11:51:38 PM
Did you look into transferring to SW?
10/9/2014 12:31:37 AM
Like Southwest the airline?
10/9/2014 7:40:36 AM
^^He hates SW remember? Delta is the only airline worth anything
10/9/2014 10:35:15 AM
Delta has got to be the most difficult airline to use miles on, Southwest probably the easiest followed by AA and United
