Saw that United was scouting Lewandowski.I always thought they got a raw deal investing all that time and money with him as he rose up through the academy only to leave for Dortmund. It would only be right if he came back home to Manchester like Cesc did at Barca.[Edited on April 26, 2013 at 11:34 AM. Reason : They are a bit thin up front so it makes sense]

A homegrown strike force of Rooney, Lewandowski, RVP, and Chicharito would be special.Truly a beacon of morality in this landscape of mercenary championship clubs.
4/26/2013 11:38:15 AM
Man City - No history and only way they would get players is to pay them out of their ass = Mercenary.Man United - Players actually want to come here and don't need to lured in with a lucrative contract. The only reason any of those current City players gave a rats ass about joining city is because they were getting paid ridiculous amounts. City are buying trophies since they don't have any accountability of their spending. United aren't because the money is recycled through the club and earned, not donated by oil tycoons. There is you difference.United and Arsenal have built their success, city and chelsea have bought it. [Edited on April 26, 2013 at 11:44 AM. Reason : .]

2 of the 3 highest wage earners play for United.Honestly I don't care how much they spend and where they get it from. It's all good by me. But when people act like they are winning titles on small wages and because players "want to come there because of history" I'll call bullshit.
4/26/2013 12:00:24 PM
Most players head to United because of their philosophy I've heard.
4/26/2013 12:05:58 PM
RVP turned down a higher paycheck to come to United. Of course he is going to get paid but he is going to worth what he is getting paid. United is spending within their means, no matter how you want to look at it. The success is maintained through a smart transfer policy that involves not overpaying for players. City don't have a wage structure (hell they are still trying to get rid of dead weight on inflated wages) and they don't have a smart transfer policy either. United is winning because it is a well run financial organization, not because of charity. If you don't see the difference between that then you are clearly kidding yourself. Every club in England should aspire to be run like United and Arsenal. Quiet simply, the two clubs do football right.

4/28/2013 12:56:26 PM
You have to have people who are going to score to win. Aside from Walcott's offside goal, Arse never looked like scoring. Casual balls in, terrible decision making, tons of possession. Typical Arsenal shit.

Arsenal just needs to start spending some money. Their transfer policy is admirable but they can afford to go out and get a 25-30 million player every 2 years. They were the best title rivals in the modern era. The United and Arsenal teams at the turn of the century were fantastic. Viera, Keano, Giggsy, Wiltord, Bergkamp, Beckham, Pires, Henry, Yorke, Sheringham. God those were some great years.

Bale did the double tonightPOTY (again)YPOTY[Edited on April 28, 2013 at 6:42 PM. Reason : COYS]
4/28/2013 6:38:32 PM
RVP and Suarez both had a better year. Ridiculous. Also the YPOTY award is a joke. The FA needs to lower the age limit to 21 and under. Bale is 23 ffs.
4/28/2013 7:07:48 PM
I guess we'll see how good he really is next year when he's off to Madrid^ If anything, the polling should be done after the season is over - Bale won it 2 years ago on account of his UCL performances and nothing else. This yeah he wins it off the back of what, i don't know. He had a tremendous year compared to his previous ones, but compared to RvP and Suarez, it just doesn't make sense.Meanwhile RvP won it last year for single handedly keeping Arsenal relevant - whereas this year he almost single handedly won United the title. A bigger achievement somehow isn't worthy of back to back? Doesn't make sense.[Edited on April 28, 2013 at 7:17 PM. Reason : .]

Butthurt beacons of morality ITT
4/28/2013 7:13:43 PM
Not really. RVP is top scorer and Suarez is second. Bale isn't consistent and has been hot for about 2 or 3 months. He deserves YPOTY but that age limit should be mended. Whereas RVP had a drought of 1 month and has been consistently good.
4/28/2013 7:15:50 PM

Bale was the most valuable player to his team and it really isn't close. No issues here.Would have had no issues if RvP won again either.[Edited on April 28, 2013 at 8:02 PM. Reason : X]
4/28/2013 8:01:55 PM
If Suarez isn't who he is, he wins in a landslide. And I'm not saying it's unfair it's that way either. Just saying that's how it is.RVP should have won. I never thought United would have to count on him as much as they did and he completely validated Ferguson's faith and the massive money they dropped for him. We'll see how he looks in year 4 of that deal but for the first, he certainly lived up to everything asked and expected of him.
