Don't really care that Bon Iver is shilling for whiskey, but did it have to be Protestant whiskey?

Just perused his stupid Twitter. Guess him and Jeepin4x4 should hang out. The ol' MacIver likes the Alabama Shakes or whatever the hell.

Speaking of bands I'm tired of:

http://pitchfork.com/news/44831-sleigh-bells-reveal-reign-of-terror-album-details-florida-tour-with-diplo/

Sleigh Bells.

Hopscotch 2012?

the new Amy Winehouse album is enjoyable. Damn that coked out woman could sing when she was physically capable of doing so.

I saw Sleigh Bells a few months ago and they totally blew (no big surprise). CSS opened for them and completely stole the show. Those ladies can put on a show.

Really don't know what you people expect from a band whose album starts with, "CHACKAH CHACKA PPPPWWWEEEEEEW PPPPPPEWWWWWWWEEEEEEWWWWWW..."

i read something about one of their shows last year on the something awful forums where the singer tried to crowd surf and jumped off the stage and no one caught her and she just landed on the ground like that scene in school of rock

Well, those people are dumb. While their (his) music sucks, Alexis Krauss is a cutie in my book.

Their music definitely doesn't translate well to live performances, but I still enjoy the first album.

Just discovered this band. Best alt-country discovery I've made in fucking forever. This album came out earlier this year and it's a strange, dark, beautiful concept album about a mechanic who falls in love with a girl at an auto-parts store, set in a place that sounds exactly like the cover looks.

I had no idea who Willy Vlautin (the band's lead singer and songwriter) was until a few days ago, but he's a tremendous storyteller on this record and a few of their earlier records. Apparently, he's also put out a few novels, one of which is called The Motel Life and is being made into a movie starring Emile Hirsch and due out next year. I'm gonna have to track that down and read it.

haha, i really like Richmond Fontaine too. They're one of those alt-country bands that is much bigger in the UK than they ever were here.

I'm loving Undun, even though the last 3 songs/movements are pretty much worthless. Besides that, its another solid Roots album, imo

Should probably be in a "Music of 2012" thread but Sleigh Bells first single from their next album came out today.

The new GBV album is pretty disappointing. I wasn't expecting anything great, but Bob had shown something of a return to form with the Boston Spaceships albums. Didn't carry over to this.

They got back together for a one-off show for Matador Records' 21st birthday last year. That turned into a full tour, which turned into a return to recording. They apparently already have another one in the can scheduled to come out in May.

The Weeknd actually didn't play Hopscotch. Le Weekend and Weekend played Hopscotch, but those are both different than The Weeknd. When the Hopscotch lineup came out I was hoping it was The Weeknd, but alas it was Weekend.

this drake shit really is terrible. i got a little over halfway through it. it's literally nothing but all those hip hop cliches about making it and look at where i came from and i'm heading for the top and i'm taking over and me and my crew spend a lot of money and party with women.

Degrassi High AKA The School of Hard Knocks

I can agree that the production on Drake's album is good, but I just cannot get past his nonexistent ability as a rapper or his bitchy voice/lyrics enough to enjoy it.

I was going back through and saw pilgrimshoes post about the newest Yacht album. I will say, I don't find it terrible. It's got a few good songs, definitely.

And the album is supposed to be mocking a shel silverstein book. It's more apparent as an LP.
