I wonder if it'll be on Amazon VOD before the season is over

This show is so good.I wish there was some way HBO would do The Dark Tower series. The epic would be endless.
4/1/2012 10:21:48 PM
^ They are.
4/1/2012 10:23:32 PM
very solid episode. I kind of wish they would have kept the prologue idea going before the title sequence for the season premier like they did for the first season since George Martin has kept it up in the books but that is just a very, very minor complaint.[Edited on April 1, 2012 at 10:35 PM. "According to reports, the studio was unable to come to terms with producer Ron Howard.[21] Despite this, Stephen King remains confident Howard will see the project through with another studio, and Howard confirmed the adaptation is still on track, noting that HBO will now carry the television series portion of the project. [22][23] On March 13th 2012 it was reported that Warner Bros are now interested in making at least the first film, and would be in prime position to green-light the TV element through its sister company, HBO. Javier Bardem, tipped to play Roland Deschain, is reportedly still on board. Reports indicate filming may commence as early as the first quarter of 2013. For the casual observer, the first episode was boring. There are to many threads to follow all at once. This cant really be helped and may work itself out. Its going to need some time to ramp up.
4/1/2012 10:36:33 PM
not this casual observerI had to wikipedia a few things to keep up, but I enjoyed it

^^ if it seems confusing then I suggest watching the "Making Game of Thrones" video: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007BVNW10it explains the world and gives some backstory

boring episode

If you had trouble following that episode or thought it was boring you're missing some standard cognitive abilities so feel free to remove yourself from this thread.

on par with the first episodes of most shows. A lot of story. Not much action.
4/2/2012 5:32:50 AM
I haven't seen the episode yet, but why are people for action over story

talked to at least 3 people already at work who I know from last season are watching the series without having ever read the books and all 3 of them really enjoyed the first episode. Boring was definitely not mentioned. As stated earlier, I really enjoyed the episode. They glossed over a few things but obviously they can't cover it all. Also, Grey Wind looked much better than I expected him to.I'm just waiting for the rating numbers of the premier and hopefully for HBO to green light a 3rd + 4th season [Edited on April 2, 2012 at 7:57 AM. Just finished watching it this AM. Really enjoyed it too.
4/2/2012 8:36:01 AM
lol at Cersei slapping Joffrey. I hope to see him get slapped like a bitch every season.
4/2/2012 9:45:33 AM
Ugh, boring as shit, there was no explosions.
4/2/2012 11:44:30 AM
There sure are a shit ton of characters but I really enjoyed the episode (especially the wolves!). The only weak scenes were the ones with Stanus + that witch lady.
4/2/2012 11:49:04 AM
I enjoyed it, didn't think it was boring at all. I actually don't understand that at all... there was killing, sex, bastard murdering, wolves being awesome, the boy king being a prick and being slapped like he deserves, a power push from little finger (only to be reminded how quickly and easily he could be taken care of), glimpses of the dragons, this new lady who was not harmed by the poison, etc.It was meant to get us caught up on where everyone is since the last episode while setting things up for the rest of the season, which it did perfectly well. I thought it was very in line with a lot of the s1 episodes as far as action vs story or dialogue.
4/2/2012 12:04:22 PM
also the imp is the shit
4/2/2012 12:10:30 PM
he's my favorite character so far, without question.
4/2/2012 1:01:18 PM
^agreed
4/2/2012 1:27:21 PM
Refresh me why the call him Littlefinger; I'd look it up but risk spoiling 10 other things.Tiny package? "Finger" to the King's "Hand"? Something else entirely?
4/2/2012 1:52:56 PM
^it's a reference to where he's from.
4/2/2012 1:57:16 PM
He is from The Fingers. I can't remember if the little comes from him being little when he was younger or the fact that his father was a very minor lord of a small plot of land in The Fingers.

Joffrey is such an asshole that I almost felt bad for Cersei.
4/2/2012 8:01:55 PM
the Cercei/Littlefinger scene was pretty great
4/2/2012 8:03:26 PM
I dunno. I did think her power is power line was kind of lame.
4/2/2012 8:17:32 PM
Power... is power.
4/2/2012 8:34:09 PM
I'm looking forward Cersei/Tyrion interaction, Arya's journey, Tyrion in general, and Jon Snow's storyline
4/2/2012 8:41:21 PM
I personally thought the Cersei / Littlefinger scene was one of the weaker ones of the episode. Completely out of character for Littlefinger, but they kind of altered his character that way last season already so I didn't worry about it too much. Not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things anyway.
4/2/2012 9:08:19 PM
Varys>Littlefinger.

Baelish blew a golden opp to quote Jadakiss on his retort.
