No the bojangles hill was pretty bad but had a 4x4 pickup and took it slow. Saw a couple others make it before me so I decided to give it a try. Was mostly snow at that point.
1/29/2014 11:30:58 AM
the roads around me (downtown) that haven't been touched are a lot better than those that have been driven on. this dry powder is packing down into nice slick ice tracks where cars are driving over it.
1/29/2014 11:36:21 AM
Yeah the roads that are slush need to be scraped before tonight or it is going to be terrible tomorrow morning.
1/29/2014 11:40:36 AM
I-40 in greensboro is already dry as a bone
1/29/2014 11:41:18 AM
Yeah I'm expecting the roads to be horrible in the morning
1/29/2014 12:11:12 PM
well played, Jimhttp://www.live5news.com/story/24567796/weather-channels-jim-cantore-rushed-by-kid-delivers-knee
1/29/2014 12:19:28 PM
^^ ConcurJust got back from grabbing some lunch and this refreeze is going to be ridiculously bad. If the roads near you aren't cleared before 5:00 today, you are pwnt tomorrow, stay home.
1/29/2014 12:22:39 PM
Just finished shoveling the drive way, which is always a nice reminder of how uncoordinated I am.My left wrist is gonna be pretty sore tomorrow.[Edited on January 29, 2014 at 12:33 PM. Reason : I'm very proud of myself and open to props.]
1/29/2014 12:30:34 PM
i didn't realize anyone could be so uncoordinated as to have problems shoveling?
1/29/2014 12:37:31 PM
^ lol, this
1/29/2014 12:38:39 PM
I can only flip one way.
1/29/2014 12:41:43 PM
One of the worst parts about apartment living is the completely uncleared parking lot. Fucking awful.
1/29/2014 1:03:12 PM
1/29/2014 1:03:40 PM
nah, good excuse to not go to work
1/29/2014 1:04:07 PM
So there are 2 ways out of my apt. complex. One exits onto a non-main road that has not been plowed or apparently salted or anything. The other exit goes onto Walnut, and Walnut is dry as a bone... however some dumbshit semi driver has gotten himself stuck there. Fucking brilliant.
1/29/2014 1:10:04 PM
1/29/2014 1:11:07 PM
Ahahahaha, as I'm bitching about it on TWW a snow plow just came through. One good reason to live in Cary... the town of Cary has more plows than Wake county does.
1/29/2014 1:12:56 PM
^^Yeah I suppose it would be dry as a bone outside of the body and left to have all the fluids evaporate
1/29/2014 1:19:12 PM
^^ Like I said last page, Cary is gonna be clean by EOD. Rest of Wake County.... Havta wait until it melts next week.
1/29/2014 1:23:30 PM
It's all gonna melt Friday, Saturday morning tops. Don't worry about next week
1/29/2014 1:26:21 PM
Wait. Is it gonna snow next week?!??!
1/29/2014 1:28:29 PM
No I meant its all going to be gone long before then.
1/29/2014 1:35:28 PM
Indications of a possible late week winter storm next week... too early to even think about right now, but some models suggest it
1/29/2014 1:55:48 PM
Forecast I see shows it as rain, temps too warm

Charlotte's main roads were fine this morning. I left around 9am to head to work, and my neighborhood's roads were a solid sheet of ice. I made it out onto the feeder road which was pretty iced over, too, and was headed into a small dip at about 10mph, and this stupid woman pulls out in a pickup truck right in front of me from a side road where it starts to go back up, not even 30 feet in front of me, and she hits the ice and can't move an inch. So I have to slam on my breaks, losing all of my speed, barely missing her by a foot. Cars are now all piling up behind us.I get out of my car and walk up to her and tell her to make sure it's in 4WD and I'll push, and she says it's only a rear wheel drive truck. What the fuck, woman. She ended up not being able to get out, so she drove back in the subdivision and stayed home. I go back to my car and notice that when I slid, it separated the tire from the rim, so now I'm fucked, but I'm able to put it in reverse and get out of the way and change my tire. But, over the next 20 minutes as I'm fighting a solid sheet of ice to get a jack down, get my footing to take off the lugnuts, etc., I watch the mayhem she caused by being a moron and trying to get a RWD truck out in that mess. She said "but I have a truck, that should be fine, right? I just wanted to go up to the mall" Nice traffic problems because she had to be an idiot.]
1/29/2014 2:02:32 PM
Aren't you in Atlanta?
1/29/2014 2:03:54 PM
Apparently our town has imposed a curfew from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. tomorrow.
1/29/2014 2:55:23 PM
what town is that?Chance of huge storm along the mid-atlantic coast late next week. Time to pray for a southern swing!
1/29/2014 3:05:28 PM
Richlands
1/29/2014 3:06:41 PM
^^Alright, let's do this. Somebody start pestering Fishel.
1/29/2014 3:20:44 PM

1/29/2014 3:42:50 PM
My weatherunderground app shows freezing rain for like 36hrs
1/29/2014 4:17:38 PM

1/29/2014 5:09:07 PM

1/29/2014 5:29:20 PM
Road outside my house is a skating rink right now, not surprised that the city salting it at 11pm didn't do much
1/30/2014 7:03:24 AM
Capital, Beltline, Wade Ave and 40 were all dry this morning.
1/30/2014 7:36:00 AM
main roads and main highways look good this morning - every other road looks pretty bad
1/30/2014 7:44:23 AM
2 hr delay. Again not sure what the point of delays are when the ice isnt going to melt.... but kDid chapel hill rd ever get plowed?
1/30/2014 8:07:46 AM
Man the big hill leading up out of my place is a sheet of ice. I don't think I'm even going to bother trying to take my car out on that, fuck it I'm staying in.
1/30/2014 9:00:05 AM
anybody know how buck jones looks?
1/30/2014 9:01:05 AM
Spent the morning walking around downtown Wilmington. Streets are nothing but ice. Its been fun watching the rednecks in their 2 wheel drive trucks getting stuck and running over signs. The police and firemen were not pleased.[Edited on January 30, 2014 at 9:42 AM. Reason : x]
1/30/2014 9:26:56 AM
Is it a ticketable offense to drive your car down a major road while it's covered in a mound of snow? It should be
1/30/2014 9:28:10 AM
Worst part of my commute was getting in and out of the driveway at home and at work. My commute is just a straight shot down a main highway...so that wasn't bad. But a lot of the secondary roads looked rather rough in the Clinton area
1/30/2014 9:33:13 AM
rednecks in 2WD trucks are some of the worst. I was behind 2 this morning. HERP DE DERP, I GOT ME A TEERUCK SO I CAN DERIVE IN DER SNERW.
1/30/2014 9:33:44 AM
All the ice has kept me at home till it starts to melt. Rear wheel drive cars are no good today
1/30/2014 10:06:58 AM
can't even get up the hill at my place to get out. looks like if I'm going to class I'm forced to take the bus. thanks NCSU. I guess if you live in an area not covered by Wolfline you don't deserve to go to class.[Edited on January 30, 2014 at 10:21 AM. Reason : ']

It was a ticketable offense to drive between the hours of 6pm and 7am last night here. Unless it was an emergency, obviously.
