I think that societies that encourage infanticide and/or abortion of girls is dangerous as it creates generational imbalance and fosters hordes of sexually charged males who are more apt to commit violence against each other and the few girls that remain. But far be it for me, as a liberal, to petition the government to step in and chaperone women's doctors visits to appease their self-appointed moral authority.

^ I usually tend to look towards studies and case studies that look at this rather than thinking that allowing abortions will lead males to act like dogs. I guess you are saying "encouraging"...which is obscure...you mean the government encourages it? The media?[Edited on June 1, 2012 at 1:04 AM. Reason : gg]

Never mind revisions like the Torah, the Canon of Trent, Luther's Canon, the books of the Bible that supposedly weren't good enough to be included, etc as well as various translations that have resulted in the complete distortions of original means.... Yep, that Bible sure is rock solid. Joe the Dumbass should have pointed out that the Bible he was looking as was the King James Revision/Edition.....

Jon Stewart and Marco Rubio actually had a lengthy discussion about this very issue last night. Towards the end of this 60 second clip. http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/mon-june-25-2012/6-25-12-in--60-seconds?xrs=share_copyRubio sounded much more coherent when he was talking about it though because Stewart didn't really press him on what amendments he is proposing. http://dailyitem.com/0100_news/x1236705453/AG-Theres-no-evidence-of-voter-fraud(GOP controlled) Pennsylvania just passed some voter ID laws a short while ago, and a study showed some 750,000 registered voters would be disqualified, some 9% of the total, and about 1/4 of voting-age citizens are more than 10 miles away from the nearest ID center. The ACLU rightfully called them out on it, and here's the real kicker:
7/25/2012 9:20:23 AM
I would love for their to be a voter ID law, and I'm pretty fucking far from being a Republican. I think it should be pretty broad and inclusive as to what constitutes an ID, but proving who you are is not asking too much in order to exercise franchise. I would have no problem accepting any state issued ID or say... 2 things from a list of about 70 (think credit/bank card and a power bill or phone bill, or SS card, or etc. etc.). I'm also in favor of making state issued photo IDs free and paying for it by increasing the cost of obtaining a drivers license significantly.Problematically, there will be no consistency in these laws from state to state even for federal elections because each state sets up their own stupid voting laws and has their own uniquely retarded ballot/voting machine. If we had federally funded and federally run federal elections this might be less of an issue.
7/25/2012 11:44:09 AM
^ I agree, but it's painfully obvious that the motivation is to try and disenfranchise voters here. Why go through so much effort, time, trouble, and resources to push for a law that doesn't appear to solve any actual problems? It's just like the welfare/drug-testing laws in Fl, they wasted money just so conservative politicians can let their constituents know they hate poor people.Aren't conservatives always saying gov. is too large, they should trust people, etc.?
