LOL why is he asking about insects in the kitchen roflThis guy is restless
4/1/2011 11:41:45 AM
Because the friends have testified that Nancy said there were maggots all over the house and brown wormy thingies. There were only ants. In the kitchen. That came in from an ant hill under the porch.
4/1/2011 11:45:31 AM
Would NC qualify for the Nearly Naked Run thread?

off to lunch....keep me updated!
4/1/2011 12:08:57 PM
I had to stop. How can they call this a trial? It's the biggest waste of time and money
4/1/2011 12:34:55 PM
Who is this Nancy Cupper?
4/1/2011 12:40:39 PM
^^
4/1/2011 12:42:35 PM
"laser pointer or whatever they call those things"
4/1/2011 12:48:58 PM
This cop is weird.
4/1/2011 12:50:50 PM
This cop can't remember what the weather was like, but he can recall the precise position of a piece of straw on a rug. Also, a dirty rug at the entrance to your house means you're a killer.
4/1/2011 12:52:01 PM
Not to mention the hay wasn't in the house on the 12th... only on the 15th. I bet this fool didn't even get pictures or collect it. Just "remembers" the way the light hit off the rug...
4/1/2011 12:53:41 PM
Have they so far present any forensic photographs in this trial?
4/1/2011 12:56:33 PM
What do you mean by forensic photographs? They've shown pictures of the body to the jury (not the press), pictures of the house to everyone, and pictures of the cars. They have not presented any physical evidence linking this crime to ANYONE.[Edited on April 1, 2011 at 12:57 PM. Reason : ]
4/1/2011 12:57:19 PM
Recessed until Monday @ 9:30 am
4/1/2011 1:04:53 PM
Done for the weekend. Was the whole point of that cop testifying just to say that Brad Cooper didn't go to a press conference?
4/1/2011 1:05:30 PM
Nothing, its just filler.
4/1/2011 1:07:03 PM
I guess I mean things like "here's a photo of a muddy footprint near the victim. It came from a size 12 shoe." or"here's a photo of the straw of hay. It was tested and matches the hay in the ditch."
4/1/2011 1:07:33 PM
Not saying the cop is making shit up about the straw, but there was no photgraph, or collection of the straw? What kind of shitty polce work did they do once the warrant came through? That shit could easily link someone to where the body was eventually found (could, not posturing that it would)[Edited on April 1, 2011 at 1:09 PM. Reason : ^ yup]
4/1/2011 1:08:43 PM
4/1/2011 1:08:56 PM
what's sort of funny to me is how the overall consensus both here and on GOLO is that Cooper is going to walk, CPD is massively inept, and that this is a tremendous waste of taxpayers' money.GOLO posters being reasonable? On MY internets?
4/1/2011 1:09:33 PM
All of these witnesses are just testifying to how the accused reacted to the situation and, IMHO, hearsay to their situation prior to the murder.
4/1/2011 1:09:41 PM
The prosecution and the defense take small details like that and ingrain them in the minds of the juries so some dolt on there goes, "oh shit, that is hay from the murder scene, he did it" while ignoring the overall case.
4/1/2011 1:09:53 PM
4/1/2011 1:32:07 PM
It really feels like anyone who watches shows like Dexter or Law and Order would have done more thorough evidence collecting, which is really, really sad
4/1/2011 1:33:04 PM
WWJDWhat Would Jack [McCoy] Do?
4/1/2011 1:35:14 PM
you wanna know why he got arrested and indicted? The rich fuckers living in the area were probably putting a shitload of pressure on CPD and DA to get this wrapped up.
4/1/2011 1:36:52 PM
and the irony is he lived there because of her
4/1/2011 1:40:03 PM
We went and sat in on the proceedings today.my general impressions:her friends are snooty...they seem to act the same way Nancy has been described...that she wore the pants and controlled the family. The prosecution doesnt have shit...I dont even know how they got the warrants/trial to begin with.you can feel the tension in the room...everytime the prosecution says something the friends of nancy look over like HA! gotcha bitch...then the defense is like WHAT NOW SON when they redirect. the defense attorney is GOOD.Im not sure if he did it...which is why he ISNT guilty. The police officer today just reinforces how inept the CPD is/was.theres a piece of hay...3 days after the girl went missing...you didnt collect it, notice it, document or even draw it on a piece of paper....you saw that hay that morning...theres no way you had it on your shoes? cmon dude...he came across as an ass kisser.overall, Brad will walk...the jury just kept looking around like wtf are these questions about and what does this have to do with the case?its a huge joke honestly, i dont know how a judge let this even go to trial.
4/1/2011 1:46:12 PM
lol at CPD confirming what I've known for 25 years as a native Caryian (is that what I am?)
4/1/2011 1:50:42 PM
4/1/2011 1:55:19 PM
that judge just wanted a "high profile" case to put on his next palm card for his campaign
4/1/2011 1:56:55 PM
good to hear that the jury is all "WTF"
4/1/2011 1:59:15 PM
^ yeah, that's really good actually.
4/1/2011 1:59:39 PM
I knew this was going on and all, but I'm seriously surprised its day 17 of this sort of testimony.I can't wait until the defense gets their chance.
4/1/2011 2:04:11 PM
I bet the defense attorney gets up there with two of those post-it note posterboard big note thingsOn one, he has a picture of each of the witnesses, the CPD logo, and the Wake County Seal, one each per page, and on the other, he has a big picture of a sad clown with an equal sign to his left.He would then reveal each page to the jury. Once he was done, he would say "The defense rests."
4/1/2011 2:11:26 PM
4/1/2011 2:11:28 PM
LOLOLOL NickI bet the jury would be like "FINALLY SOME ACTUAL EVIDENCE"
4/1/2011 2:13:05 PM
as a soundtrack they would play a calliope but slowed down about 10x
4/1/2011 2:18:50 PM
Just had a frustrating conversation with my boss about this case. "He'll walk but he's guilty. My wife runs on that road and has never been killed."
4/1/2011 2:24:21 PM
4/1/2011 2:25:30 PM
Your boss is a goddamn idiot.
4/1/2011 2:25:41 PM
I used to think he was a pretty smart guy. Now I have to reconsider [Edited on April 1, 2011 at 2:28 PM. Reason : F]

I wonder if Nancy's parents will go for a civil case if Brad is found not guilty?
4/1/2011 3:08:18 PM
Statute of limitations has run on a civil case.
4/1/2011 3:09:26 PM
I hope he gets his kids back
