^Trestman screwed Burke over. If trestman wasnt such a bust....burke would have playedTHIRTY TWO PAGES OF NCSU OVER SC[Edited on August 18, 2008 at 7:18 PM. Reason : 32][Edited on August 19, 2008 at 12:09 AM. Reason : ]

Burke's high school stats were a little inflated b/c of the level he played at.I'm watching the UNC football preview and all I can do is laugh. Same old shit. "We are young" but they have like 18 starters coming back. Then it lauds them for having 18 starters return. Well so what if you have 18 starters returning if most of them suck anyways. "We were competitive in most of our games." So what Amato's teams were always competitive, but they didn't know how to win. You still lost. Your team didn't do the things it needed to win. A loss is still a loss. "We've got a tough schedule." WTF are you talking about Bitch Davis. Your in-conference schedule is a joke b/c you miss FSU, CU, & WF, plus the Coastal division is shit. Then your OOC schedule sucks. McNeese St. a D-IAA team patsy. UConn a Big East team that had a great year last year, but who knows if they were just a flash in the pan or not. Notre Dame sucks and I don't see them being more than a 6-6 team at best. @ Rutgers is your hardest game. Is Rutgers Stadium a tough environment, no. Is Rutgers a good team, well yeah they've been doing pretty well recently, but they are very beatable. They aren't like a SEC team where the talent is on a whole nother level than the rest of the conferences.

Why the fuck did they show Louisville's cheerleaders when they opened our preview show?
8/18/2008 7:34:12 PM
A lot of gloom and doom to open our preview show. Opened up by talking about how we were last or near last in the conference in certain statistical categories.
8/18/2008 7:49:21 PM
This preview show sucks....didn't tell me anything I didn't already know.
8/18/2008 7:54:58 PM
do they ever?
8/18/2008 8:03:13 PM
I think burke went to louisville to get back home. I seriously doubt he has any delusion of getting playing time when they have SEVEN QBs. But either way, i think transferring was the right move for him to make.

http://www.newsobserver.com/sports/college/ncsu/story/1183859.htmlThis article says that O'Brien offered to help both Beck and Burke if they decided to transfer. Beck has decided to stay at N.C. State and may opt to go through this season, graduate and then go to an NAIA school next year.Around the conference Re'quan Boyette, Vincent Rey, Tielor Robinson and Michael Tauiliili have been named captains for the 2008 Duke football team. Also Jordan Steffy will start at quarterback for Maryland in the season opener against Delaware.
8/19/2008 12:06:57 PM
So band members do you know what the band will be playing this year?
8/19/2008 9:00:28 PM
Burke should have transferred to a smaller school.

8/19/2008 10:47:17 PM
D E only to be replaced by the 2nd or 3rd game with wilson
8/20/2008 12:46:05 AM
geezus. So are we really going to have to see who walks out onto the field against SC or will we get an announcement before that?
8/20/2008 1:09:37 AM
I'll say Evans starts, has a decent first 2 games, plays like shit against clemson, Glennon gets to start against ECU, we never look back. Wilson gets used sparingly throughout the next 4 years to run a couple bootlegs and mop up type stuff.
8/20/2008 1:28:11 AM
^if glennon doesn't play against USC, i would be willing to bet he redshirts. Much less after the first 3 games.
8/20/2008 1:33:50 AM
I was thinking TOB wants to use Glennon, but probably doesn't want to throw him out there in an SEC environment for his first game experience ever. It probably wouldn't go very well. And if Evans does decent then he'd keep playing for a little while. I don't know nearly as much about Wilson but I don't think he's going to be the QB.For some reason the radio thinks he'll announce it tomorrow.
8/20/2008 1:36:42 AM
there's supposed to be a press conference sometime this week (something about 2pm) for TOB to announce it. I don't remember for sure and haven't bothered to look anywhere today.
8/20/2008 1:42:20 AM
8/20/2008 9:05:24 AM
TOB will announce our starting QB when he releases the depth chart for the SC game, like he has said all along. Of course, I think he listing something like Brown OR Eugene on the depth chart for starting running back last year, so I guess he could do that if he wants to buy more time.
8/20/2008 9:12:35 AM
there was a late scrimmage last nightno stats have been released yetTOB has a PC at 2 today, people are thinking if we get an announcement on the QB it'll be during that presser.Edit: Rumors are that Evans played awful in the last two scrimmages. i mean horrible. i think wilson starts, evans as #2, and the coaches hope and pray they can redshirt glennon. there's no reason to get 3 games into the season and then burn his redshirt.[Edited on August 20, 2008 at 9:21 AM. 8/20/2008 9:14:11 AM
place your bets people. who do you think it'll be? and who would you like it to be (if different)?
8/20/2008 9:18:43 AM
^^I don't know if it was part of the last 2 scrimmages, but I saw something on WRAL last night that posted stats from some scrimmage they had. I assume it was the first, as they went out of their way to say they didn't have stats on the latest scrimmage.Anyway, the point was that Evans had the best record of the three. He had fewer reps though. Glennon was a standout because he had 4 ints. The other guy, Wilson, had 2 ints. I don't think Evans had any in WRAL's reporting.I found this while looking for the first scrimmage stats. I'll post it, in case it's interesting to anyone:http://www.thestate.com/gogamecocks/story/486421.html[Edited on August 20, 2008 at 9:40 AM. Reason : -]

no offensive stats were released for the previous scrimmage (last friday). no stats at all have been made available for the scrimmage last night.

No announcement on the QB coming today:http://blogs.technicianonline.com/Guess he'll be doing it at the end of the week.
8/20/2008 12:26:10 PM
He can still release the depth hart with an "or" at QB.Keep them guessing until kickoff.
8/20/2008 12:29:21 PM
sounds like we'll get stats today though...

I dunno if I like the idea of redshirting Glennon, but I suppose in the long run it's for the best...we all remember how good our defense was the year after Rivers left and what might have been if he had redshirted.

^^^ Or maybe Glennon just isn't grasping the offense as TOB stated in his press conference. Let's not jump to conclusions. We have enough reasons to be pessimistic without creating our own.[Edited on August 20, 2008 at 3:22 PM. Reason : asdf][Edited on August 20, 2008 at 3:24 PM. Reason : spelling]
8/20/2008 3:22:12 PM
I kind of knew Glennon would end up being redshirted way back when he did an interview and they asked him about players playing as true freshmen. He said that it is very hard for most incoming freshmen to see playing time in their first year simply b/c of the difference in speed from high school to college ball. I just hope us redshirting Glennon doesn't scare off Everett Proctor.

garbage coaching decision to redshirt glennon.pure.garbage.i recall a certain philip rivers playing every game, freshman to senior. give this guy a shot. we all know that evans sucks.now we get to see a 2 QB carousel AGAIN[Edited on August 20, 2008 at 5:14 PM. Reason : .]

^^ i've always thought that Beck had plenty of talent, his arm is strong, but he just lacks the poise and decision making skills^ I recall a certain philip rivers being our only real option at QB when he came in as a true freshman.[Edited on August 20, 2008 at 5:16 PM. Reason : .]

I personally don't think that Glennon will make a huge difference on this team, once some well coached O-line is around him, I think we will be in better shape. Maybe even redshirt Proctor and in 2 years have a seasoned TOB offensive line and a 2 quarterback system.
8/20/2008 5:26:03 PM
I know it's been said a million times, but its unfair to compare this situation to Rivers because Glennon did not spend the spring here. That means so much because you don't get your work out plan and playbook until you get here. So Glennon has only been able to absorb information since July 7th when he came for summer school, as opposed to Rivers who had since the previous January.
