I don't understand why so many people are bitching about the batman voice. It never really bothered me.

For the most part it doesn't bother me, but there are just certain lines that he tries to deliver in that voice that end up sounding really corny due to it. The worst offender to my ears was in Begins, when he delivered the "It's not who are underneath, but what we do that defines" line. I cringe everytime I watch that scene, just an awful delivery. I can't recall anything in TDK that stuck out to me as much as that one.

^^^ 2nded

It isn't THAT bad.

Granted, in the first movie, he was using it primarily to intimidate bad guys.
Here, he's using it while talking to Gordon at crime scenes, etc. so it is just more obvious.

BUT

In a comic, it is easy to maintain that his secret identity can't be discovered because that's just the rules you play by. Comic characters don't know who lots of poorly-disguised heroes are. Some just have the eye-disguiser things like Bucky wears, and that's about it.

In a "realistic" Batman world like in this movie, however, he needs as much identity protection as he can get.

I was in a meeting yesterday and someone asked me what I thought.

It took a lot of restraint for me not to say "It's simple. We kill the batman."

evening, commisioner

Haaaaaiiiiiiiiii (to Dent in the hospital)

Yeah (When the black guy asks him if he thought he could just steal his money and walk away)

Six ? (when he mouths it to the guy that thats how many of his friends he killed)

Lets put a smile on that face (just a really cool delivery)

Those were great. I like how he kept telling and changing the story of the scars. The whole scene with the mob was hilarious.

i liked the way he never exhibited a second of worry that something would go wrong...ALMOST when he saw the boats weren't exploding, but he was going to detonate them himself

when batman is knocking him around the interrogation cell, he was laughing the whole time, never said "ow" or anything

and when he was falling off the skyscraper, he was laughing the whole time there too, no "aahhh!" stuff

He was laughing when he was falling because he thought he had won and batman killed him. I loved how he explained away the boats not blowing up because the people had Dent to inspire them, and if they had no inspiration they would do anything.

Ah, but according to him, he didn't have a plan. Things get chaotic when you have a plan and the plan fails.

I keep seeing people talk about Jokers not having a plan, I thought he only said that to Dent to explain away the fact that he was behind Rachel's death. The entire movie revolved around Joker's plans, from the heist at the beginning to the boats at the end, all took a lot of planning.

Also I really hope that if there is a third movie two-face isn't dead, they did not go into depth on his character at all

yea I think that's one of the greatest themes in the movie, how much Joker talks about not having a plan, yet having all of these BRILLIANT plans again and again

really didn't do much for me

it was good, joker definitely stole the show, but it just left something to be desired

probably just because it was hyped so much to me, but I actually think I liked Batman Begins more than this one

Some of the cooler trivia from imdb:

Quote :
"The actor that played the older gentleman that confronts the Joker at the party thrown by Bruce Wayne for Harvey Dent is Vermont senior senator Patrick Leahy. Mr. Leahy is a huge Batman fan and arranged an early showing of the movie on July 12th as a fund-raiser for the children's section of the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier, Vermont, the state's capital."

Quote :
"Heath Ledger improvised when he started clapping inside his jail cell in a mocking and sardonic capacity as Gordon is promoted. The clapping was not scripted but Christopher Nolan immediately encouraged the crew to continue filming and the sequence was included in the film."

Quote :
"While in the nurse uniform, The Joker's name badge says Matilda. This is the name of Heath Ledger's daughter."

I saw it in IMAX on Monday. Freakin' amazing! I liked the movie a lot, but the IMAX "experience" truly made it great and worth the $. While there were little nit-picky things that I didn't like, the overall film was really great and that had to be the best super-hero script... at least IMO.

Heath Ledger was (obviously) wonderful. I was enthralled and entertained from beginning to end with every scene he was in. He was the epitome of the worst kind of villian... no morals, no greed (for money), no motivation other than to just be evil. And the lip-licking was def. creepy as hell, but worked great for the character.

9/10

"So there is an interview with Chris Nolan's brother where he more or less confirms that Dent/Two Face did die in the fall at the end."

Eh.

I wouldn't say that confirms it.

He really seemed to shy away from words like "kill" or "die" and more towards "fall" and "... ... um... pays the price..."

although maybe I'm reading too much into it

Great, Great interview though, just listened to the whole thing, awesome.

I saw it again yesterday, loved it again

but yeah, I'm starting to think more that two-face is dead, my comic book fan denial over killing two-face 40 minutes after his creation is wearing away in favor of the great tragic story told, but I still hope he is in the third

Still trying to find the time to see it in IMAX.
