So, despite this "terrifying" DVD cover. . .. . .this is the reality. Hurricane forecast downgradedhttp://www.wdam.com/Global/story.asp?S=7158737
10/3/2007 4:22:13 PM
yes. clearly one year of downgraded forecasts proves that AGW is a total hoax
10/3/2007 5:36:08 PM
little known fact:the picture on the cover is not actually a coal burning factory plant emitting co2 emissions...its actually a sideways close up of gore's private jet's engines
10/3/2007 5:43:00 PM
damn, those are some long assed jet engines!
10/3/2007 5:45:48 PM
I don't know why we (in the US) are making such a big fuss about that movie. It's obvious by the cover that he was only trying to warn the southern hemisphere since our hurricanes spin the other direction. And HookGeezer, using a downgraded hurricane forecast to completely dispel global warming as a whole is a dumb as those who used a storm like Katrina to solidify 100% human causality. Nice try though.

That alone doesn't negate the various other signs and warnings of global warming. If you are trying to say/prove that global warming isn't occurring then have fun standing on your island. The rest of us are discussing the role that humans play in all of this. You make it sound like Al Gore is the ONLY one trying to get this message out.
10/4/2007 12:29:07 AM

10/5/2007 2:00:26 PM
no. it's OK to follow the trail when it's against GW. ignore it when it's for GW.

Supporters of Gore Lead a Movement That Lacks a Candidate
10/10/2007 11:41:44 PM
isn't it too late at this point for gore to declare as a real candidate? (i mean legally)
10/10/2007 11:50:34 PM
He as plenty of time to declare as a Green party or independent candidate. Hell, there is specuation that Bloomberg might jump into the race in February.Of course 3rd party candidates have to spend half their time and money just trying to get on the ballot in all 50 states.
10/10/2007 11:53:58 PM
^ and ^^ Despite the caucuses and the primary election, I am pretty sure that Gore could be nominated at the Democratic National Convention by the delegates--but it would be unprecedented in recent times. I mean, that's what they did at these conventions before they turned into pep rallies.
10/11/2007 12:20:15 AM
I would think that the Repubs would want him to run because he'd take votes away from the other leading candidates to a point where Rudy or Mit might stand a chance yet would not win the election himself.
10/11/2007 12:24:12 AM
^ Don't forget the negative numbers. According to Rasmussen, Romney's negatives are a bit higher than Clinton's--and hers are pretty damn high. I'm afraid she's going to win, though. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/romney_encounters_more_core_opposition_than_clinton[Edited on October 11, 2007 at 12:33 AM. Reason : .]

I am surprised that Edwards' def. against numbers aren't higher given the ferocity of the right-wing howl chamber ever since he was in the 2004 race.
10/11/2007 12:48:20 AM
^ Edwards has done plenty of harm to himself and you know it. And he is a phony--and I think even he knows it. In any event, I would argue that we hear more left-wing howls than right.
10/11/2007 2:15:23 AM
Depends on the subject and depends on your sources about the howlers. As for Edwards I am rather indifferent. I don't think that being a lawyer, even a trial lawyer, makes him unqualified to be president. I would have liked for him to have done more for NC rather than using our senate seat as a spring board into the national spotlight.
10/11/2007 2:33:22 AM
Gore would have done a helluva better job as president than Bush.-- we wouldn't be down $1Trillion and 4000 soldiers in the quagmire of Iraq. -- Iraq would still not have any "WMD"s, but would still be an effective regional counterweight to Iran.-- the US would still have a budget surplus-- Osama Bin Laden would have been tried, found guilty, and executed.-- Guantanamo Bay would still be a largely deserted proving grounds for grouchy sailors and marines.-- the world would not have had to see the twisted scowling sneer of Dick Cheney every other fucking morning.-- John Ashcroft would only be known for having lost his Senate seat to a dead man.-- Alberto Gonzales would be known for ... nothing.on the flip side, Gore probably would have lost in '04 to whichever Republican the Christian Right floated through the primary, and the US Congress would most certainly still be Republican.but i think that would be worth the lives of 4000 US soldiers and 100,000+ Iraqi citizens.[Edited on October 11, 2007 at 3:00 AM. ^ because Gore wouldnt have broken the budget on tax breaks for the wealthy, or thrown a trillion dollars into the fucking sinkhole of Iraq, which would have left our military and intelligence on the singular task of breaking Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan and finding Bin Laden.NOT wasted the lives and money trying to keep the dam of sectarian civil war from erupting in the failed state that we have now created, and then playing cops and robbers in it. tany fucking sane and rational person knows this. unfortunately, we still have GWB in office.
