I really hope I didn't blow a head gasket, although I know it's definitely a possibility. (FYI: I drive a POS 2000 Mazda 626 V6) I know the thermostat was stuck open for a little while, b/c my heat wasn't getting hot at all for atleast a day... I guess I should've seen that as more of a problem, but didn't think much of it. My step-dad is a mechanic & works for a wrecker company part-time, so he's dealing w/ it atm... although he's a lazy SOB, so I dunno how much I trust that he's not doing a half-ass job. Won't know more until later.

Well lemme know if there's anything I can do. I used to work on Jap stuff for a living and didn't screw too much up...

I'd try the K&W Block Sealer route before I blew an assload of money on pulling heads. Or maybe a used engine. Compression test will tell the tale!

BTW, if your coolant level dropped significantly, you might not have heat. Might have a leak somewhere that's responsible...

I think they're pretty good engines, but like a lot of today's engines, there isn't a big safety margin if one overheats.
