I'm assuming TJ Warren is in by the amount retweets he's making about the McD's game announcements.Well, only two after checking again, but that's more than he's been doing lately ]
2/9/2012 10:56:05 AM
Sorry, I'm sure it has been posted but, when will they announce the team?
2/9/2012 11:19:48 AM
5pm? thats what the last page said.
2/9/2012 11:21:49 AM
Ok, I didn't realize that was what the 5pm is for referring to, thanks.

Lowe, Whittenberg, Corchiani, Monroe and Hodge all turned out to be stars.Meyers and Scooter served as solid 4-year players.Costner, after showing great promise as a freshman, never realized his full potential due to poor coaching and poor work ethic.Hickson and Washburn used the program as a springboard to the NBA, putting up great stats for a year or 2 on mediocre teams.Wilkins was overhyped coming out of HS, and transferred due to differences between his family and the coaching staff. The book is still open on Leslie. Out of 12 burger stars come and gone, 5 turned into all-time greats for our program, and 3 others had very respectable 4-year careers. That's not bad odds.[Edited on February 9, 2012 at 11:49 AM. ok, so one thing that jumps out at me there is that Herb had as many burger boys as V. I can only assume that the field was smaller back in the 80s? or was he not as prolific of a recruiter as I remembered?[Edited on February 9, 2012 at 11:57 AM. Reason : .]

^ good point. I didn't remember much about those teams in '85 & '86, so I kinda assumed they were mediocre.
2/9/2012 12:33:34 PM
it's really hard to look up, i don't blame you for just assuming.
2/9/2012 12:39:14 PM
lol
2/9/2012 1:41:42 PM
Confirmed that TJ Warren and Amile Jefferson are McDancing.[Edited on February 9, 2012 at 5:08 PM. Reason : still waiting to hear about lewis and purvis]
2/9/2012 5:08:06 PM
Woot[Edited on February 9, 2012 at 5:11 PM. Reason : both made it]
2/9/2012 5:11:26 PM
They all made it! All of our recruits are playing on the East team. We have three McD AA's coming next year. Wow.
2/9/2012 5:12:19 PM
Today, we are all Royale's with cheese
2/9/2012 5:15:12 PM
That guy loves Smart's body
2/9/2012 5:16:05 PM
All three of our guys on the same team, along with Amile Jefferson. I bet Amile commits to Duke before they even play this game, but I hope I'm wrong about that. If he is still undecided when that game rolls around, playing on a team with all 3 of our McD All-Americans can only help our chances with him (I would think).

Amazing news. Can't wait to watch the game.I will say Lewis making it is a bit of a surprise, though..
2/9/2012 5:23:15 PM
WE CAN'T LOSE
2/9/2012 5:23:24 PM
^^eh, some recruit guys say he's the best passer in the class, so i'm guessing they took that into consideration, and are hoping he puts on a show at the all-star game.
2/9/2012 5:25:34 PM
and its not a very storng pg class, but definitely congrats to all three
2/9/2012 5:29:12 PM
It's the way the McD AA game works. If we didn't have Warren and Purvis as recruits, Lewis probably wouldn't be in.
2/9/2012 5:30:36 PM
There are a couple of the top players in this class that are 5th year guys, which took them out of the running. Also, Nerlens Noel can't play because he just re-classified. Tyler is the lowest rated of all the burger boys according to scout. I can't wait to see him PG a team in the game with how little defense is played. Alley Oops for Everyone! haha

2/9/2012 5:34:18 PM
^that is pretty awesome
2/9/2012 5:39:10 PM
Lewis is the best performer on the top HS team in the country. With the weakish point guard class this year, I thought the best chances for our guys would have been: Purvis, Lewis, then Warren.
2/9/2012 5:39:16 PM
in no way should we be dissapointed if we don't get Amile.in every way we should continue crapping ourselves if we do.
2/9/2012 5:45:05 PM
lewis earned his way onto the team, it had nothing to do with purvis and warren being selected. if anything, having lewis committed is part of what helped us land purvis and warren in the first place.lewis is actually 5th in the 2011-2012 Mr. Basketball voting: http://espn.go.com/high-school/boys-basketball/story/_/id/7535087/movement-noel-reclassification5 of the 10 guys that vote on that award are also on the selection committee for the McDonald's All-American game. transferring to oak hill and helping to lead them to an undefeated record and #1 ranking has done wonders for tyler's exposure.also, as others have said it's a fairly weak PG class this year. i think lewis is the best passer in the nation though, and as such he deserves to be in the game. he probably has a chance to break the assist record for the McDonald's game, whatever the record is.
2/9/2012 6:02:01 PM
I may have creamed my pants when I saw that all 3 were on there. If we got Jefferson
2/9/2012 6:02:51 PM
Sweet, we'll actually have a basketball game to watch in late March
2/9/2012 6:10:47 PM
NCSU has more at the game than any other team in the nation. With that, and ESPN's love of Gottfried, we should get mentioned quite a bit. Great for future recruiting.
2/9/2012 6:15:10 PM
http://espn.go.com/high-school/boys-basketball/story/_/id/7558497/2012-mcdonald-all-american-game-boys-rosters-announcedNorth Carolina State leads the way with three All-American recruits: point guard Tyler Lewis of Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.), shooting guard Rodney Purvis of Upper Room Christian (Raleigh, N.C.) and small forward T.J. Warren of Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, N.H.). Kentucky and Arizona claim two selections apiece, while no other college currently has multiple recruits selected to the game.
2/9/2012 6:20:57 PM
2/9/2012 6:29:50 PM
It's likely that Jefferson will have already committed somewhere before this game is played, no?
2/9/2012 6:30:38 PM
^^I know. I always felt bad for Scooter. He went from scoring 40 points a game in high school to a guy who could only shoot spot up 3's. I never hated Herb, but I do think his offense atrophied Scooter's offensive skills (namely penetrating). He was a damn good defender by his senior year though
2/9/2012 6:59:49 PM
Jefferson said he would make his decision after the HS basketball season, so March.

If we can get Torian Graham & Amile Jefferson... Jesus Christ, we'd have a ridiculous foundation (on top of the 3 All-Americans).
2/10/2012 12:48:33 AM
we're dead to torian graham though, right?and i've been watching so many youtube videos of recruits today, b/c i was so pleased w/ the team's performance today and this season in general up to date, and i'm getting so excited. this is bad.
2/10/2012 12:56:42 AM
^supposedly he still likes us. I don't understand that whole situation and have thought for a while we should keep our nose out of it. However, coaches know best, and I'm game for whatever they decide.
2/10/2012 1:04:06 AM
I honestly see Graham still coming here, but I think Amile Jefferson will go to Duke. Apparently his decision is coming soon.
2/10/2012 1:36:33 AM
Yeah, Torian Graham is apparently still interested in us... Amile Jefferson is split 60/40 (Duke & us), but his dad at least gives us credit for trying so damn hard.
2/10/2012 2:42:49 AM
I thought Torian Graham would be committed if he had his academics in line? So I think if he gets those straightened out we'd still be his first choice. If not I'd love to see him follow in Lorenzo Brown's footsteps and do a year in a prep school.
2/10/2012 7:25:50 AM
may as well keep beating the dead horse...Amile would be a better fit at State where the low post presence is a true need. Amile wouldn't get immediate playing time at Duke w/ their bigs in front of him, plus their system is more towards utilizing the bigs for ball screens...nearly every trip down the court. I would love to see us get a player that we can stick on the block, and let him go 1 on 1 to the hoop.CJ Leslie can create off the block, but he seems more of a hybrid step-out player who likes to put it on the floor from 10-12ft out.Landing Amile would be incredibly huge as we'd not only get a pure low post scorer, but a legitimate double teamer...
