Raiding can wear you out and gets boring after a while especially if your guild hits a major cockblock like many do. I used to run a very large raiding guild and maybe its just the fact of running it rather than just showing up, but eventually the game felt more like a job than a game. Now when I get bored with something I just switch to another char and can always find something enjoyable to do because I have so many options. I would like to get back into raiding some, but I cant dedicate myself to it hardcore anymore like I used to. For instance if I decide I wanna go out with my buddies I dont wanna cancel because I am too busy getting eaten by a giant dragon lol. If I can find a guild that I can help out and fill in spots when needed cool, but I cant see myself going with the "you must attend 80% of our 6 hour raids 5 days a week" or we kick your ass sorta guilds.

yea darkside was lame. i had to fight to get a spot in the raids even though i was out-dps'ing the class leader by a significant margin. once i got into the 25 mans i realized the guild sucked and we all quit the same week. haha.
7/24/2007 4:27:32 PM
Thats pretty funny considering you did one full gruul run, ever.
7/24/2007 4:47:22 PM
yea, i did 1.5 gruul runs (the first one i went on they failed to kill gruul, how i don't understand) and 1 4 hour mag run which made me cut.
7/24/2007 4:52:48 PM
i used to run a raiding guildi got bored and called off raiding permanently and pissed off a few of the guild membersi feel so much better now that im quitting the game (casually playing til my paid account time runs out)
7/24/2007 5:25:29 PM
darkside has shit healers is the problem.that and they waste spots on comedy specs to help boost the raid leader's damage[Edited on July 24, 2007 at 6:18 PM. Reason : present company excluded, of course]

No, we're all still together except for a few stragglers from Destro. Our guild went from 13 members yesterday when I logged on to 'We're doing SSC tomorrow night at 8' after doing a full Kara clear in only a few hours.

So dinged 70 for the 4th time yesterday with my shaman. I have to agree with previous posts elemental is pretty fun. Im still in mostly greens and my lightning bolts are critting for 2800-3000 depending on how well im buffed. Once I farm some gear out its crazy to say but he may be hitting for as much as my mage who is in pretty good gear now.
7/26/2007 9:37:01 AM
any of you guys in a guild that would take a semi-casual player that occasionally has to take a month off here and there for work?
7/26/2007 10:25:08 AM
armory link?
7/26/2007 10:51:17 AM
http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Shadowmoon&n=Hohirohttp://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Shadowmoon&n=MorrelI've raided at 60 with a druid (heal), hunter, warlock, priest (dps, heal), warrior (mt, ot, dps) and OT/DPS at 70 with my warrior. Really looking for a more friendly place for 5 mans, heroics, kara, bgs, arena. Just looking for friendly/helpful ppl that have a funny, laid back vent/ts.
7/26/2007 11:46:33 AM
should just name drop ovr and they'll grovel at your feet
7/26/2007 1:11:55 PM
lol. naaa. i don't care about progression or responsibility, I'd prefer to dps as a pure dps class, and I'd level level something new to do it. I am actually looking for a friendly, casual, but skilled group
7/26/2007 1:39:07 PM
7/26/2007 1:45:12 PM
yea i know
7/26/2007 2:03:09 PM
woo new ui
7/26/2007 2:14:01 PM
there are still a few of us on destro well only me and my buddy that play together lol but i know there are a few others there as well
7/26/2007 2:14:18 PM
we're fairly casual. we're working on vashj and al'ar atm. we raid 4 days a week and do things like kara/gruul/mag on the weekend. mag has become a bit of a rarity since we rarely have enough locks/warriors on. we could really use an enhancement shaman if you wanna try that out. http://www.garbage-guild.com

Baelgun server right ?Shaman is the biggest need you say ?
7/26/2007 3:24:33 PM
elemental shamans are just plain nasty.
7/26/2007 3:32:46 PM
shaman and mage are what we need most right now but we can always use warriors (but be prepared to OT encounters like hydross). baelgun is the realm. our token enhancement shaman quit raiding, we just lost a paladin this week (followed his e-girlfriend when she got the boot). We have a lot of spots that could be improved but often enough we have 0 shamen in the raid, so yeah, it's our biggest need.
7/26/2007 3:33:35 PM
agreed making me wish I hadnt waiting this long to level up my shaman, especially since he was my first character and my main raid toon back in the day. The 41 point 3% crit totem seems nice and all, but I dropped that and went with nature's swiftness instead for that OMG plz dont die save my ass situations. Either that or saving a poor caster or healer who pulls aggro occasionally.
7/26/2007 3:41:13 PM
^^ God is a l33t ench shaman.
7/26/2007 3:56:01 PM
its "enh" not "ench"
7/26/2007 3:57:47 PM
I wish they had made the netherwing quests where you have to chase the guys all over the place repeatable, those have been some of the most fun quests I've done yet. I still havent managed to beat Skyshatter, mainly because of lag I think or something... Ill be right beside him and it will just randomly say I failed . Does anyone know if the reward from that stacks with the riding crop? If so that means even faster mass farming for me .
7/26/2007 3:59:55 PM
No, it doesn't stack. Here's how I did it (for multiple people):Equip your riding crop and start off flying at the end of the runway. He'll path around and do a little 180 and fly back across the runway. During this part stay slightly ahead of him to the left and above him, far enough so that when you're fully zoomed out and have your camera panned back that you can still see his whole avatar, but not so far away that you can't mimic his turns. After he pans left along the Southern part of the island I tend to fall back a little but still stay as close to parallel to him as possible while keeping enough distance to weave around the fireballs. I usually turn auto-flight on and have the camera panned to look at him in case he flips out and flies backward, which at that time it's good to either just stop and wait for him to resume or try to get closer to him if you find yourself getting out of range. Just repeat this for most of the flight, and then he'll get the part where he starts to fly up a mountain and goes berserk with the fireballs. Here you just need to STAY CALM and try to avoid the fireballs while not staying too far away from him. He doesn't move too far so you can actually be closer to him during the nutso part than most other parts. Eventually he'll regain sanity and head back to the landing pad, just follow him there and dodge 1 or 2 more fireballs and you're vegas. After I learned how to do him I was able to do it for other people consistently. I dunno, must be some magical switch haha.
7/26/2007 4:08:21 PM
Damn if they dont stack Im not gonna be in any rush then lol. Yeah I havent had any problems with fireballs or keeping up with him at least as far as I can tell, he just keeps randomly disappearing in front of me and says I fail
7/26/2007 4:15:08 PM
you do fail, doss. you do fail.
7/26/2007 4:46:31 PM
who should i look for in garbage ?
