omg Cass that is stunning!!!
1/23/2012 12:07:12 PM
^^^ That dress is baller. Also I want this dress so hard. But it's so damn expensive. Curse you Anthropologie and your alluring picture e-mails!![Edited on January 23, 2012 at 2:42 PM. Reason : .]

^ I got that dress for Christmas. It is amazing. Every bit of amazing that it looks in the pictures.
1/23/2012 2:43:14 PM
not sure why I'm posting it here, but I thought some ladies might appreciate it more than the standard male troll out there. warning: wordz.
1/23/2012 3:06:29 PM
target has a tank version of that anthropologie dress right now
1/23/2012 3:18:51 PM
^ Target you say? I'm about to go to the website now!Beethoven86 I had a feeling it looks as flattering in real life as it does on the hanger. Glad to know someone on here has actual experience with the dress. Which makes it harder to say no
1/23/2012 3:38:30 PM
Post the link if you find the target top. I can't!
1/23/2012 3:40:17 PM
its a tank dress not a topI saw it in passing when I ran in today at lunch....different color variations from the black
1/23/2012 3:43:07 PM
Oh, maybe that's why I can't find it
1/23/2012 3:44:05 PM
what do you guys think of this dress? I know it is not a dressy dress, but it is a cute casual oneI was thinking with some tights? I dunno, I suck at picking out dresses and I need halp
1/23/2012 3:48:50 PM
this is why chick chat will be beneficialwe had quite a few pages on the missoni collection when it came to targetI hate that dress...which means its perfect for you
1/23/2012 3:50:47 PM
haha, thanks.[Edited on January 23, 2012 at 3:56 PM. Reason : the one I liked is out of stock, but I don't think I will bother with this one]
1/23/2012 3:52:16 PM
if you were to wear the dress that I hate, tights would be appropriate with some tall boots
1/23/2012 4:07:36 PM
I don't like the pastel blue in the dress, and I found one that was better (but out of stock), so I will just have to go shopping IRL or something.
1/23/2012 4:10:11 PM
OMG, I LOVE Cass' dress. WOW! So sophisticated.BTW, Banana Republic has an awesome sale on already discounted sale items. I got $300 bucks worth of biz attire there yesterday for just $80! And I had a gift card from Christmas, so it was like big-kid Christmas! They have some gorgeous knee-length business skirts. Also, I like the dress Katy posted, but would not buy it. Patterned dresses are pretty, but I get sick of them way too quickly. Or they look dated way too quickly. Burberry is an exception. [Edited on January 23, 2012 at 5:09 PM. Reason : .]
1/23/2012 5:05:46 PM
is this work appropriate length?
1/23/2012 5:09:13 PM
That's cute! It's appropriate depending on your job. And if you pair it with thick tights. But if you have a conservative office, go a little longer.
1/23/2012 5:10:57 PM
yea, it is laid back in the sense that I am with underdressed students at a conference coming up.
1/23/2012 5:12:28 PM
I would say no. Not work appropriate length. Doesn't have to go to the knee, but for a conference, I think that's a bit short. And I'm of the opinion that tights do not make an inappropriate work dress appropriate. And a higher waist doesn't make it more appropriate either.[Edited on January 23, 2012 at 5:16 PM. Reason : ]
1/23/2012 5:15:30 PM
dang, back to square one. there is a sale near were I live and I was able to get that skirt for $10 with this coupon/gift card.
1/23/2012 5:17:16 PM
The thing with a pic on a model is that you really have to consider the total length of the skirt and where it would fall on your leg. If you're 5'3", then it would come closer to your knee and be just a bit more professional. If you're 6'2", it'll be a mini. For most "professional" settings, you don't want a skirt to be much more than 2" above the knee ... unless you work in an ad agency or a similarly edgy environment. And Beethoven is correct. Tights won't help much. But, I'm of the opinion that if you're showing 2" above the knee, then the look will probably be fine with tights. Any more, and it's inappropriate.[Edited on January 23, 2012 at 5:19 PM. Reason : .]

So I need to find some shoes to go with this dress. They need to be silver(ish), but other than that there aren't really any limitations. I thought these would be cute, but I could really use some advice from people with an actual sense of style
1/23/2012 9:07:23 PM
My brother's girlfriend has a pair of Ariat boots that are fabulous. I tried them on last night and fell in love. I always thought my calves were to fatty mcfatty for boots, but omg western <3. Gotta have a pair of my own. That is all.
1/23/2012 9:21:23 PM
I like the 3rd shoe1st is too froo froo2nd is boringI like the "architecture" in the 3rd one[Edited on January 23, 2012 at 9:31 PM. Reason : e]
1/23/2012 9:31:50 PM
The first shoe screams my name.Froo froo or not.
1/23/2012 9:34:44 PM
You can get it at DSW, Rack Room, Belk, Macy's, Stein MartThey're Nina....and they're cute, just too froo froo for the dressI've tried them on a few times in black actually
1/23/2012 9:41:32 PM
I like the third shoe too. On a side note, has anyone ever ordered victoria's secret clothing online? I always like their stuff but have a hard time believing that what looks good on those supermodels would look good on me
1/24/2012 12:28:56 AM
I used to order their dress pants. I really liked the way they looked but they were low quality. Hems fell out super easily.
1/24/2012 2:07:27 AM
I have the same experience with VS clothing. Beautiful pants, but hems fall out quickly. The shirts are cheap material. Look more like club wear. Love the bikinis tho!
1/24/2012 7:18:29 AM
I used to order a LOT of VS clothing, and occasionally they were great, but more often than not they fell apart quickly. Most of the time I could fix them myself, but it's annoying to pay that much for cheap quality. (The better quality things have been a white sweater-dress and some plain long sleeve tees.)about the shoes, thanks for the tips ladies! srsly- much appreciated. One of the other bridesmaids threw out these as an option: I think they are adorable, but would they be too much for that dress? (Similar to the first pair I posted?)[Edited on January 25, 2012 at 8:32 AM. Reason : through =/= threw]
1/25/2012 8:31:33 AM
those are fun! i like the beading on the front.soooo i got my Dr Bronner's 18-in-1 soap, conditioning rinse, and leave in conditioner yesterday. my hair feels really clean. i used all three products but i think going forward if i'm shampooing then i'll just use the leave in conditioner and if i'm not shampooing i'll do the conditioning rinse. my hair feels good today but i feel like if i did the conditioning rinse and the leave in conditioner continuously, then my hair could start to feel waxy. also i got the peppermint one and i love peppermint so i didn't mind but it's really strong smelling so i would suggest getting one of the other smells if peppermint isn't your thing. i also got the chapstick - it feels good. i'm hoping going sulfite free will help with the itchiness/redness i've been experiencing on my head from my sulfite allergy.
1/25/2012 9:20:46 AM
Something I'm eating is giving me some sort of allergic reaction or something. Can't figure it out. It isn't consistent at all, but I haven't been writing stuff down, just kind of thinking about what I ate that day. Bloating, like 6 pounds of weight difference in 12 hours, and sometimes I get this scratchy feeling down my throat, my lips go numb, and my tongue burns.
1/25/2012 9:40:18 AM
^^^ What brand are those shoes?
1/25/2012 10:11:52 AM
want so bad
1/25/2012 5:58:19 PM
jerome just said it looks like "a dress you made yourself" hahaha

I've been thinking about trying out a new foundation. I have oily skin, the occasional blemish, a few acne scars, and super pale skin. I've leaning towards one of the following:CliniqueMUFEHourglassCoverFXOnline reviews are good for each one but I have real life tdub opinions. Any thoughts or suggestions?
1/25/2012 10:06:06 PM
Have you tried powder foundation? I use the FX powder, and it is really the best I've ever used. I haven't used any you listed though, so I can't help with that.
1/25/2012 10:07:11 PM
I get really oily by the end of the day, and so far the only thing I've really enjoyed is Bobbi Brown Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation
1/25/2012 10:12:57 PM
Nope, never paid much attention to powder foundations. Maybe I should try it since I've never really been happy with a liquid foundation.
1/25/2012 10:16:21 PM
powder didn't work well for mejust made the oiliness even worse
1/25/2012 10:18:00 PM
yeah, i think that's why I've avoided powder for so long. that and I'm not sure it would provide enough coverage. i'll check out bobbi brown, thanks diva!
1/25/2012 10:22:48 PM
I use a photo finish primer under the foundation, and that cuts back on any shiny/oily. You can always go get a few samples from different counters, so you don't pay a lot for something that doesn't work.
1/25/2012 10:26:05 PM
The thing is...DO NOT BUY before you're sureMost good stores will sample the foundation out to you to try for a week or so. I know they did that at Saks.Try a sample and make sure it works before you go and spend $50 on it!
1/25/2012 10:26:23 PM
yeah we said the same thing....awesome
1/25/2012 10:28:01 PM
yeah, i definitely need to get back in the habit of wearing primer. I live in the great awesomeness that is Roxboro, so my shopping options are wal-mart and peebles (what the hell is a peeble anyways?), but I work in Durham. Is driving to Raleigh to visit Saks worth it or should I just hit up Southpoint mall?
1/25/2012 10:35:17 PM
You should be fine at Nordstrom. A lot of the department stores don't want to pay for the packaging to sample out cosmetics (if that makes sense) so you will normally find it in nice stores, or basic department stores located in nicer locations.
