regarding winter workout attire, here's my semi-professional opinion: lululemon: winner by a landslide. you can find great deals online in their "we made too much" section. with as much lulu stuff as I own, I've only paid full price for ONE item. they also make long pants and long torso tops - which is a rare find. not a fan of their sports bras though. under armour: quality stuff, but they don't make things long enough for me. for a similar price, I'd rather buy lululemon. their sports bras are pretty awesome though. target/old navy/etc: meh. it's cute and inexpensive, but function/quality wise they're inferior - everything I've owned has stretched out, pilled, or ripped (while I was teaching a class nonetheless ). I'd rather buy one pair of high quality/performance lululemon pants than have to buy new target/c9 pants once a month because they fell apart. nike: this is my go-to brand if I can't afford lulu or if lulu doesn't make it. they have great deals at the outlets. wal-mart: makes the best cotton sports bras. 3 pack for $9.99? oh yeah. I wear sports bras 24/7. I don't remember the last time I wore a real bra. the cotton ones are good for daily/non-exercise use.]

Now I'd like advice from a bigger tittied girl lol
1/13/2012 12:19:36 PM
I've had success with the fitted pants I got from Athleta (company that sells gap/oldnavy/bananarepublic)my "relay capris" have held up really well and they have long tanks that work for my torso
1/13/2012 12:20:57 PM
Diva, I'm still on the hunt for the perfect sports bra. I fucking hate sports bras they hurt they smash my girls and if they actually "fit" properly they don't offer near enough support. This is one of the reasons I quit running. A bloody & scabbed over clavicle isn't a cute look. When I do workout my limiting factor is almost always the sports bra. Additionally, I can get so claustrophobic with the girls being smashed up that I literally have an anxiety attack and have to FDT from time to time. I will let you know if I ever find the holy grail! I have spent a fortune looking....
1/13/2012 1:38:25 PM
1/13/2012 1:50:57 PM
^^Please dothe one I have now gives me that claustrophobia feeling, but I have to have them secure with all this jumping I do in my workoutsI thought I was gonna die last night and almost had to cut my bra off It sucks
1/13/2012 1:53:40 PM
Thanks Begonias!!!! I may have to save up for some lululemons....which type would you suggest for a short, not super skinny chick?
1/13/2012 4:08:39 PM
I am soooo late on the trend wagon with this (partly because I used to hate them, as I'm sure lots of people still do) but I got a pandora bracelet for christmas and I kind of love it. Monkey got me a new charm tonight for our anniversary! It's a cupcake!I'm embarrassed by how much I love it
1/13/2012 7:31:57 PM
you should be lol
1/13/2012 7:37:30 PM
I know. But I love my cupcake and kitty charmsi turned my nose up at the thought at first, but i kinda really like it now. i only have four charms. i like the bare look.I really hated them when they first came out. My stepsisters were going nuts over them and I thought they were stupid ugly. Mine will probably end up ugly, but each charm (except this odd glass one) is sentimental, and I plan on them all being that way. [Edited on January 13, 2012 at 7:40 PM. Reason : ..]

i spent hours finishing this dress. it's way more complicated than it looks i finally finished it today after having it cut out for over 6 months...i'm posing in front of the curtains i made & i look a little rough (this was taken after 8 hours behind the sewing machine...)it's a linen dress in a nice red (dare i say, nc state red) colorthis is what the pattern envelope looks likethis is the first garment from a pattern i actually see myself wearing regularly. sorry, just had to a little bit up in here

I have no experience with this bra, but I have heard it is a great sports bra for those with titties much bigger than mine: http://www.movingcomfort.com/Juno/350025,default,pd.html
1/16/2012 1:28:39 PM
I'm a bigger tittied girl and that's the one I wear. Keeps the girls down comfortably without beating me up and still allows them to breathe.
1/16/2012 8:00:37 PM
so i found this online support group for people with sulfite allergies and one of the girls was telling me that i should look into switching out my shampoo/conditioner and body soap to something that is sulfite free since the body can absorb products with sulfites in it. i just spent $40 on Dr Brommer's products. i got a shampoo, leave in conditioner, body wash, and chapstick. anyone else use these products before? i imagine they should come in the next couple of weeks, i'll have to report back.oh and i also have to switch out all my spices because unless it's natural/non-preservative laced, the spice companies use declumping agents to keep the product from clumping which has sulfites in it
1/17/2012 2:39:24 PM
I haven't used sulfite free shampoo, but I was considering switching. It's supposed to cut down on body dryness and shoulder acne as well. And your hair is supposed to look much more fabulous! Definitely let us know how well it works for you.
1/17/2012 2:42:05 PM
JCASHFAN loves Dr. Brommer stuff
1/17/2012 2:43:02 PM
I've been using a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner for several months now. I like it because I don't use as much of it, so I don't mind paying extra for it, but I can't really tell much difference between it and regular old shampoo. But there's nothing special or problematic about my hair or skin.
1/17/2012 2:47:42 PM
thanks! i will have to report back.right now i seem to be pretty okay with using my current products but a lot of the things that cause my allergy to flare are getting worse and sticking around a lot longer than normal which worries me. so i figure if i can slowly integrate the sulfite-free products now, it's easier than waking up one more with a severe reaction i get a lot of head itchiness and dry hair and skin (which i shouldn't have with the 3+ liters of water i drink a day) which is a typical sign of the allergy on the skin so i'm interested to see how much difference it is when i remove the sulfites.^ i'm not allergic to sulfates but i am allergic to sulfites which i learned are 2 separate things i've been using a sulfate free shampoo for a while now but it's like with any allergy - you're not going to notice a difference unless you're actually allergic or intolerant to it.[Edited on January 17, 2012 at 2:50 PM. I use Dr Brommer's soap for shaving my legs etc. I love the peppermint!
1/17/2012 2:51:55 PM
Loving Wolfy's dress, as well as the white dress on the pattern.Did boudoir yesterday. Wow. Have never had makeup professionally done before. So much fun! Here's a terrible camera phone pic ... but man, I may have to start wearing makeup! For anyone considering taking pics, I had a great experience. Very fun if you're thinking about it!
1/18/2012 12:59:57 PM
Your makeup looks fantastic! I hope they got some good shots of your eyes. Perfect sultry look.
1/18/2012 1:04:59 PM
so i accidentally clicked in here but i make soap from scratch its really fun and really easy. Dr. brommer is what got me into it, all veggie oil soaps. I usually do a mix of peppermint lemon and lavender hard on the peppermint for mine, hard on the lavender for my wife. its pretty awesome stuff.

Thank you!Thinking of taking a makeup class so I can learn how to do my own. Are there any good online makeup tutorials that y'all can recommend?
1/18/2012 1:13:43 PM

1/18/2012 1:16:32 PM
LOL. No offense taken. I think most people look a little better with makeup. Now I just have to figure out how to do it myself.
1/18/2012 1:23:39 PM

1/18/2012 2:10:44 PM
very pretty Lucy! whenever I get my makeup done, I'm always like "oh this is fabulous I'm going to start wearing makeup!" that usually lasts about 2 days then its back to normal
1/18/2012 2:23:41 PM
^ Makeup is a pain when you work out a lot ... it's hard to spend a ton of time on makeup when you know it'll have to come off in a few hours. But WOW, my bf was blown away ... he liked it so much that I'll have to do it again.^^ Any recommendations of places that do a particularly good job? I know one of my gfs loves sephora. Not really sure which brand/counter is best if I go to a Macy's or similar store.
1/18/2012 3:04:19 PM
I went to clinique last week and they were trying to get me to sign up for makeup classes (kinda wondering if they were hinting something with the over enthusiastic makeup lady telling me many times about the class and how great it is), but anyway I like their makeup, but I don't know anything about the classes[Edited on January 18, 2012 at 3:10 PM. 1/18/2012 3:08:09 PM
you can do makeup that's just as pretty in like 5 minutes or lessnot saying my makeup looks glorious...but I can do it in like 3 minutes when I'm pressed for time and I just feel better about myself (totally mental)I know we've had discussions about sephora...I am not a fan because they sucked at matching colors for me. You're pretty fair (and white) so you shouldn't have a problem. I've had the best luck by going to a nice department store counter where I know they've at least had lots o training by the brands and whatnot.
1/18/2012 3:08:58 PM
Is there a particular brand that's best for your skin? Clinique tends to market itself as hypoallergenic, but I know that's probably just that ... marketing.
1/18/2012 3:22:17 PM
Any brand worth its stuff is hypoallergenic. That's not too much of a concern anymore. That said, Clinique is great, Lancome is great, I also use Powder FX for foundation, smashbox for eye makeup, and Tarte for mascara.
1/18/2012 3:24:42 PM
I loooooooooooooove tarte!
1/18/2012 3:27:08 PM
^ I have pretty sensitive skin, and despite all of my searching is still my favorite. It doesn't "react" to my skin like other makeups ... which allows it to stay the same color. If you have ever had a weirdly tinted face (sorta pink), and its a little off color from the color you thought you bought, then you know what I am talking about. I still however use their tinted moisturizer, because heavy foundation never works well for me.I will say that clinique's dramatically different lotion is the bomb for my skin.
