did anybody see Christian Ponder laughing on the sidelines just before halftime up 21-7?
10/29/2010 10:19:55 AM
aha one of my coworkers is a Florida State fan. I came into work in my NCSU sweatshirt. She came into work with a face of shame
10/29/2010 10:21:05 AM
Ponder was all giggles for the entire first half pretty much
10/29/2010 10:21:26 AM

i have no emotional connection w/ any of those teams so im sure ill be doing that

all you dancing L posting douches can eat a big fat richard

10/29/2010 10:50:04 AM
Agreed, I'll cheer for BC and Wake without a second thought this weekend. I may even not cheer against UNC next weekend when they play FSU.
10/29/2010 10:56:47 AM
Hey now, it's one thing to cheer for BC and Wake. Sure they're technically "rivals" but I can't think of any good reason to have bad blood against their football teams (WF's bball team, however, is a bunch of business givers), but let's not go overboard and start not cheering against UNC.Gotta keep things in perspective people.
10/29/2010 10:59:13 AM
I'll just be slightly less disappointed if UNC beats FSU.
10/29/2010 10:59:52 AM
Yeah that Carolina game will be a win-win either carolina loses or they set it up so we can afford to blow a game down the stretch.
10/29/2010 11:00:00 AM
unmentioned play of the game to me: Earl Wolff's finger tip jersey tackle that saved a TD a few plays before "the fumble".
10/29/2010 11:01:55 AM
That was pretty impressive, I was kinda amazed that he was able to hold on as long as he did while the jersey stretched out at least a yard.
10/29/2010 11:08:54 AM
I'm still pumped from the game last night sooo glad I got last second tickets and they were amazing seats. One of the things Ill remember from this victory was at the end the whole stadium dancing to "All I Do Is Win" that was actually really fucking awesome it didnt matter how young or old or non dancing people were every single person I saw was dancing and celebrating. Wish I had thought to pull out the phone and snap a video.
10/29/2010 11:09:06 AM
that was a good one. Very impressive that he had the arm strength to hold on that long.Another good play: on the FSU reverse, Irving cut back towards the reverse BEFORE Ponder tossed it and put himself in great position to make the tackle. They showed it on instant replay. Unbelievable vision/anticipation.
10/29/2010 11:11:27 AM
wasn't Wolfe the guy that got drug 15 yards down the field by the VT RB last year? Dude has been like a different player this year, he was always in position to make plays but this year he is actually tackling fairly well, lots of potential there
10/29/2010 11:15:51 AM
Yeah, I bet some of those scouts took notice of Irving last night.

^^^^ To be fair, Wolfe was also the guy that was seriously out of position on Ponder's TD pass at the end of the 1st half.[Edited on October 29, 2010 at 11:28 AM. Reason : ^]
10/29/2010 11:28:01 AM
^^^^ Taylor Z said one of the NFL scouts in the press box had a notebook page with 56 at the top and it was filled completely with notes.[Edited on October 29, 2010 at 11:35 AM. Reason : ^^]

The play of the game for me was the tackle by CJ Wilson on Ponder when it was 21-21 and like 3rd and 4 on our 20 or so. Comes up field and just makes a great tackle, if he is a bit slower to react could be a first down, and if he misses the tackle could even have been a td.Just thought that was a big time play by a young CB.
10/29/2010 11:29:37 AM

what an absolutely epic game, I'm paying for it today, but so glad I was out there. I've been to probably 75% of the home games over the last 8 years and I think last night was the loudest I've ever heard Carter-Finleysomeone in here posted something about FSU getting jobbed by the refs, it seemed to me that we got screwed, especially during the drive where the refs missed the face mask and horse-collar tackle calls. I know it doesnt matter, but I always wonder how people watching the game on tv saw those plays, and if the commentators said anything about it. The crowd was PISSED about the facemask especially
10/29/2010 11:45:52 AM
Wilson was running away from the camera angle IIRC, so it was hard to see if there was a facemask. Looked a little rough to me, but I didn't see a blatant facemask. You could definitely hear the crowd booing though. The commentators said something about it, just sort-of in passing. No replays were shown.[Edited on October 29, 2010 at 11:51 AM. Reason : ]
10/29/2010 11:51:10 AM
missing the facemask call was absolutely inexcusable and we were very fucking lucky to pickup the 3rd down after that
10/29/2010 11:51:43 AM
^^oops, nevermind, I never saw the facemask issue either.[Edited on October 29, 2010 at 11:54 AM. Reason : ]

If we got that facemask call...the very next play, which was a catch by one of the WRs, would have been in the END ZONE, and not on the 4 or whatever, which led to the RW INT.That call was just so fucking obvious. The ref was in between me and the facemask, and if I could see that sucker from 40 yards away, there is no reason he couldn't see it from 10. I was greatly pleased that they showed the replay on a controversial call for once, though. Usually they stay away from it at both football and basketball games. Also, I got front row seats to see the magic last night. I was there early to put out t-shirts in the student section, and just ended up staying in the stadium, and the athletic people just bumped me up to GA in section 7/8, so by the time doors opened, I was already comfortably in my seat Didn't take any during the game, but:
10/29/2010 11:59:38 AM
I couldn't tell if it was a facemask or not but the horse collar was blatant. Terrible no call.
10/29/2010 12:05:45 PM
it was an obvious facemask if you saw the jumbotron replays in the stadium.
10/29/2010 12:09:33 PM
i was (pleasantly) surprised that they played those replays in the stadium, usually they are told not to play controversial stuff
10/29/2010 12:10:55 PM
The only plays they don't show are the ones under review, and if one of our players fucks up really bad. They never miss an opportunity to fire the crowd up on a bad call/no call. ]
10/29/2010 12:13:15 PM
Ran into Debbie Yow exiting the stadium... I cheered with her happily for 20 seconds while we moved through the herds and got an encouraging squeeze on my shoulder before she ducked out to the Murphy Center. She is definitely one of us - I could see that she shares true state fan joy along with the rest of us!
10/29/2010 12:16:25 PM
lol @ SFN comments about the music in the stadiumthey make an obvious shift from 95% band to more like 70%ish band and they can't stop bitching, and that it's too loud. they finally upgraded the speakers this year, in years past you couldn't even hear the intro music
10/29/2010 12:19:19 PM
did anyone see the replay of the personal foul called on us on offense (smith at WR, I believe) ?Was that legitimately a 15yrd penalty? Never saw a replay
10/29/2010 12:21:27 PM
^^Yeah, the stadium sound is much much better now. But, I do get pissed off when they do things like blast YMCA the second after FSU goes up 21-7. ]
10/29/2010 12:21:41 PM
i am not ashamed to admit that at the emotional high i was experiencing, i did not mind "who let the dogs out"
10/29/2010 12:22:04 PM
^Haha, I definitively participated with a few WHO WHO WHO.
10/29/2010 12:23:33 PM
me and the wife definitely noticed that they only played "Red and White" like once or twice during the gamethe also should play the Apache song more than just at the end of the game. The entire student section and band - along with a spattering of alumni - were doing the dance. They should start out the 3rd quarter with that to get the crowd pumpedalso, whatever song the band plays after the alma mater, before kickoff, needs to be removed. Its that carnival sounding song, it sounds so cheesy and generic
10/29/2010 12:23:40 PM
10/29/2010 12:24:16 PM
^^Yeah, I can't remember the name, but it has a military background. It's very cheesy, we call it the circus song.
10/29/2010 12:25:24 PM
pomp and circumstance?
10/29/2010 12:26:09 PM
^^ no, not everyone in your conference is a rival of yours.BUT LET'S SAY THEY ARE: you're talking about games w/in the conference, so that's irrelevant.
10/29/2010 12:29:26 PM
^^I thought that was the graduation song. ]
