points we needed
10/3/2009 11:09:34 PM
we did need 31 here's to hoping TOB rips them a new one this week. If we don't rip Duke apart this is ridiculous
10/4/2009 12:01:26 AM
goddamn nc state shit. choke when we have a chance to be way better than we have been in the past
10/4/2009 1:44:26 AM
^obrien said it last week "we aren't a good football team" ^^ totally agreed. owning season tickets for >>>$1000 a year is starting to weigh hard on me. ugghh. don't worry i'm not giving that up anytime soon, but if this horse maneur continues... they better get some better food or something at cf. something has to keep me coming back to this nonsense.we made some pretty obvious mistakes that we all know that we were gonna makeyou can't suddenly learn to tackle in 6 days. that's long process. and special teams isn't going to wake up overnight. we knew wilsons streak had to end. and to top it off, wake and skinner played the game of their lives. let's not joke about that. easily their best performance by far all yearif nate irving was here and in his prime.. ughhh. we are possibly 5-0 and prbly in the top 12. ha i'll just say it.ugh, worst of all, remember when we were winning 10-0 ??? ugggghhh[Edited on October 4, 2009 at 10:12 AM. that duke game scares me just like this WFU game did.for some reason we just don't get up for WFU like we should. Wake always gets up for us, that's why they always play us so tough.[Edited on October 4, 2009 at 10:22 AM. Reason : yep]

we always play like doo doo in winston-salem.though, i don't think it's the end of the world for our team, if we bounce back, our side of the conference is still fairly open.i just hate i have to eat crow at work on monday. work closely with two wake grads.
10/4/2009 10:37:14 AM
It sucks that we lost, but you knew it would be a close game. Anyone who expected us to win by 10+ pts is fucking stupid. We made too many mistakes and our ST and secondary were just plain horrible, but we still could've won had Wilson not thrown that last pick or if we could have tackled fucking Josh Adams. Josh Adams - I knew that fucker would eventually come back to haunt NC State one day - never figured it be because we can't tackle.
10/4/2009 10:42:30 AM
I always tell my friends that we seem to always have a difficult time against WF... and I'm never let down in that prediction. I don't know what it is.... like some crazy mojo or something... but when you have that team that seems in inexplicably beat you year after year when you're even a better team than them... then that becomes the team you want to beat almost as bad as your official "rivals". WF has become that team for me... just from all the years I've seen this same thing happen against them.
10/4/2009 10:44:10 AM
^ honestly though, i don't know that we are a better TEAM than Wake. Our QB is a little more mobile but Skinner is a 5th year guy. Their D is pretty fast, we still had over 100 yards rushing and we had alot of yards. And like TOB said, alot of it is young guys who MUST grow up otherwise its gonna be a long year. I mean we all think tackling is easy, if it was, we wouldn't miss tackles and maybe we just have personnel who are not good at tackling no matter what they are taught.Willie Young said the only problem that he saw was the young guys just aren't communicating properly, which is something they'll have to learn, which takes time, which means, like it or not, we have to be patient.
10/4/2009 5:29:53 PM
Please tell me our defense is ranked near the bottom of the nation now. No sense giving those guys a false sense of achievement. And special teams? Burn it all and rebuild. Oh and...

hahahaha holy goodtop 12 for beating sc pitt and wake??and as good as nate is, he doesnt play cornerback[Edited on October 4, 2009 at 7:10 PM. Reason : and he prob wouldnt have scored in the sc game]
10/4/2009 7:09:57 PM
wow. yeah that Irving stuff is crazy talk. how about our inability to RUN THE FOOTBALL against SC and Wake?that has alot to do with how well the defense needs to play (field position, time of possession, etc)
10/4/2009 7:45:32 PM
if our opponents have any sense they'll just stack on the line to prevent the run game and rely on the fact that our receivers as a whole couldn't catch aids if they fucked every whore in africa.
10/4/2009 7:54:39 PM
Honestly, the drops weren't that bad yesterday. I can only think of two that really hurt. It was their inability to consistently get open that killed us.
10/4/2009 7:59:40 PM
several times yesterday i thought RW went through his reads too muchit seemed that our receivers were being wishy washy on whether or not they wanted to play catch and i thought RW should have just took off. i really wish the staff wouldnt try so hard to change russell

^It certainly wasn't RW's best game. But he scrambled multiple times and for a couple (at least, i think) of crucial 1st downs. He was off-target on a few passes that he'd usually make, and there were a few times he probably should have tucked and ran... but for the most part, i think he played his game. He had some impressive plays, and he was effective, sans the few mistakes and the dropped passes. It happens.
10/4/2009 10:10:52 PM
^ you obviously weren't paying attention to the number of times he threw it away rather than running it through the wide open holes. They're trying to make him be a pure pocket passer or something.
10/4/2009 10:34:20 PM
I dont know why our Defensive coordinator couldnt drop one more guy back into the secondary since Skinner and Wake were passing the ball on 95% of their plays. I was at the Wake game and there were atleast 6 or 7 plays where after not having a 1st of 2nd option to throw to that Wilson could of picked up a 5 or 8 yrd gain only to throw the ball away or us get called for a holding penalty, IS OUR STUPID ASS OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR STILL TELLING WILSON NOT TO SCRAMBLE WHEN HE HAS AN OPEN LANE!!?? That very last possession of the game by the Pack, Wilson and company could of 'easily' gotten into the endzone, on either play action or draw plays, and have RW pick up numerous yards....why the fuck hasnt O'brien called the offensive coordinator out on this?? He had to have seen the same bullshit all the state fans in the game were observing!!?? ***my one only positive from the game was that State fans made up about 49% of the crowd at Wake's crappy ass stadium!!**
10/4/2009 10:45:05 PM
Wilson's accuracy was way off.Also
10/4/2009 10:46:02 PM
lets not foret how they gave us our last touchdown and our first touchdown
10/4/2009 10:50:53 PM
10/4/2009 10:51:34 PM
Yes. Boo Robinson almost blew the game. Also the OL false started to back them into 3rd and long and force a FG.
10/4/2009 10:53:27 PM
Wake has one of the best QB's in the conference....That said, Harrison Beck, with his left arm, could have hit some of the recievers Wake had open yesterday down the sideline. Thats whats so frustrating. It was the same shit we saw last year against USF. 20 yard cushions, or if not, we let them sit in a zone with nobody within 20 yards of them. You gotta fucking man up against a qb that good. At least make him OR the receiver work for the ball. I'd rather our DB's be out-run for a score than just let the other offense play catch while we sit around and suck our own cocks.
10/4/2009 10:54:02 PM
^Yeah Skinner had a Daniel Evans-esque 300 yard game...just throw short passes to the WRs and RBs and let them do the work. How many passes did he throw over 10 yards besides that one deep TD on 3rd and Raleigh that ended up winning the game for them?
10/4/2009 10:57:20 PM
This loss sucks hard. We are mediocre plain and simple. That said, I think we will improve throughout the season, make it to a bowl, and win it.
10/4/2009 11:06:00 PM
Is it just me or does Deandre look afraid to tackle anyone since returning from his injury? He was our best tackling corner last year. Also what baffled me was how we could give a 20 yard cushion and still get beat deep...[Edited on October 4, 2009 at 11:08 PM. Reason : .]

I guess we found out what happens when we play a real quarterback. This loss is on the offense, not the defense[Edited on October 5, 2009 at 8:08 AM. Reason : *]
10/5/2009 8:03:47 AM
I'd say the loss was a team effort. The slack ass secondary gave up 361 yds through the air. Wilson's poor throws and receivers not bailing him out along with the special teams failing to show up once again didn't help either.
10/5/2009 8:25:21 AM
I thought our defense played pretty much as well as they're going to play. We don't have a great defense. Offense playing way worse than what they're capable of and our atrocious special teams effort were killers.

You're not very bright are you bobby?Tell me how holding the leading offense in the ACC under their average at home, sacking their QB 6 times, andforcing 3 turnoversshouldnt have been enough to win?Our offense was inept for the better part of the game. Check out the time of possession. Our defense was out there far too long against a veteran QB.This is exactly what we did to pitt a week ago. Their defense simply broke down from being on the field too long int he second half. There is plenty of room for our defense to improve. Tackling, coverage, etc. They put our offense in position to win this game on more than one occasion. The offense just didn't get it done[Edited on October 5, 2009 at 9:12 AM. Reason : dont even get me started on special teams]
10/5/2009 9:10:31 AM
ill still say this game is on the inability to tackle ... i think Stephen fucking Hawking could have picked up 5 yards a carry against us on Saturday...as well as our pathetic special teams unit.we shot ourselves in the foot on defense with field position...just like against Pitt except this time our offense wasnt clicking at crucial momentsto the D's credit...they played a good game but those missed tackles HAVE to be addressed with full attention or we will lose a lot of games.
10/5/2009 1:14:03 PM
the defense looked like I (and I imagine most fans) thought it would this year. Maybe even a little better than expected with the QB pressureswe knew from day 1 that NC State would have to win some shootouts. 24 points is respectable, but it's not winning many high scoring games (and let's not forget, the D gave the O the ball on the 30 yard line at the start of the game). The offense simply has to play better if the team is going to win 8-10 games. Or the special teams needs to not suck balls.I would compare it to Virginia Tech's D/ST having a poor game for how good they are and the offense looking ok, but still worse than the D/ST. Who do you blame there? The offense always blows for them, they win games with their D/ST. We win games with Russel Wilson.

EVERYONE KILL YOURSELVES, WE LOST AN ACC GAMEJesus people, it's not the end of the world...we still have 6 VERY winnable conference games and one difficult but not impossible game against Virginia Tech. TOB has already said he's going to shuffle the secondary up, so hopefully that will improve our pass defense. The Atlantic division is still wide fucking open, with FSU and Clemson already having 2 conference losses.
10/5/2009 3:13:57 PM
If we can get Smith back in at CB, our secondary will get a lot better.
10/5/2009 3:17:24 PM
So which Duke team will show up this Saturday the one that we have all grown accustomed to as being the laughing stock of the ACC, or the Duke team that put up 28 points against VT??? I am ready for NCSU's first complete game where everyone is on the same page, offense, defense and special teams. This is going to be another crazy race in the Atlantic Division of the ACC. P.S. As someone who went to Winston Salem for the game...Wake's stadium and their fans truly suck ass! And there seats are designed so poorly that the motherfucker sitting to the left of you might as well be sitting in your lap b/c there's no god-damn leg room. Plus all of the elderly folks trying to walk up the steps to their seats had no hand rails whatsoever to hold onto, and I was just waiting for one of them to fall backwards or something(thank GOD they didnt)...but seriously who the fuck designed that crappy ass stadium??
10/5/2009 3:26:34 PM
I sat two rows behind the speedo guy. There was a chubby college-age guy who yelled completely ridiculous shit the entire game, and a fat chick with the most annoyign voice ever yelling "GO PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECK" the entire first half, thankfully her voice gave out. I'm all for cheering on your team, and I'm as loud as anyone, but you don't have to be annoying fucks about it.

The inability to tackle was certainly inexcusable there, but the defense had also just made a touchdown-saving stand to keep us in the game after our special teams fucked us.
