shitty o-line?shitty DBs?
9/30/2011 12:22:25 PM
i don't really think it's fair to say our DBs are shitty this year. we've just had a shitty d-line (mostly due to injuries)
9/30/2011 12:24:56 PM
considering most still can't maintain coverage, I'll go with shitty.
9/30/2011 12:27:19 PM
they wouldn't have to if we could put some pressure on the qb. we're leading the country (or close to it) in interceptions... that ain't bad.
9/30/2011 12:33:09 PM
They still can't tackle
9/30/2011 12:40:54 PM
9/30/2011 12:50:13 PM
9/30/2011 12:57:48 PM
9/30/2011 2:23:41 PM
i think it was -26.
9/30/2011 2:30:16 PM
9/30/2011 2:31:51 PM
^ and that's from playing soft zone with full out blitz's going. ESPN announcers basically, in a nice way, said: "you mean Archer is so dumb he keeps doing it over and over???"
9/30/2011 2:59:09 PM
feels like this was 100 years ago
9/30/2011 3:22:41 PM
9/30/2011 4:21:32 PM
how many injuries do we have at oline? Is that where we are in year 5? A few injuries away from being old school duke?
9/30/2011 5:35:35 PM
Amerson is tied for first in the country with INTs. BUT I'M SO MAD AT OUR DEFENSE, THAT I THINK HE SUCKS!!!!You guys are silly.Anyway, hopefully moving Cato-Bishop will help our DLine somewhat this week, we'll see.
9/30/2011 7:04:25 PM
9/30/2011 7:09:05 PM
our secondary is pretty good, our scheme just flat out sucks and keeps them in bad positions. glennon was supposed to be great so him not panning out is not on TOB at alll. The rest of the team is on TOB.
9/30/2011 7:13:38 PM
Not to compare, but Wilson has played 4 cupcakes iirc
9/30/2011 7:18:29 PM
one thing the Big 10 does better than most, is frontloading everyone's schedule with out-of-conference games. The ACC loves to schedule teams in week 2, which doesn't do anyone any favors, in my opinion.
9/30/2011 7:22:01 PM
Yeah I hate that too. I always thought it was best to play at least 3 OOC before getting into conference games. Not that it really matters with the we're playing right now.
9/30/2011 7:25:20 PM
9/30/2011 10:22:39 PM
Just let it go. He's not going to be here much longer that much is clear
10/1/2011 12:19:25 AM
The only thing that's clear is that you people calling for TOB's head are delusional and fucking retarded.
10/1/2011 7:08:25 AM
you know I was all over the support TOB movement, and I tried to be reasonable. It's just unfathomable to me how such a conservative coach and military man went with an unproven product over an all star just to try and get use out of Glennon for two seasons. Seems like such an anti TOB decision.but you think the RW love all over ESPN is heating up now, wait until they fuck Nebraska tonight. Announcers are openly laughing at TOB when calling games that have nothing to do with NCSU or Wisconsin, just wait until we lose a few more and RW gets more heisman hype. I was literally watching some SEC game last week and the commentators were mocking TOB hardcore....This whole shit sums up the frustration of being a State fan./rehashing old shit
10/1/2011 10:54:28 AM
^ yup... just showed a sign about TOB on Gameday. I am smug in the knowledge that my prediction came 100% true. Fuck the doubters.
10/1/2011 11:10:03 AM
wisconsin will rip nebraska tonight and then yeah it's going to get ugly.In the meantime we are going to get destroyed hardcore and its going to get ugly. The TOB defenders will come in here and say DOES RUSSELL PLAY DEFENSE?But the reality is our offense is subpar and our defense blows. TOB won't be around much longer, he can't win himself out of this situation. Our team sucks this year, won't be much if any better next year, and will completely suck sac after Glennon leaves.
10/1/2011 11:10:43 AM
10/1/2011 11:13:31 AM
^^because there are no more quarterbacks after glennon leaves. [Edited on October 1, 2011 at 11:14 AM. Reason : ^ srsly.]
10/1/2011 11:13:57 AM
^^ no, the media reaction. As soon as it was announced, I said over and over and over that, right or wrong (whole separate debate), the media would portray TOB/State in a really bad light concerning this and it would be a ton of negative press. Hardly anyone agreed.
10/1/2011 11:16:02 AM
i dont remember thatbut i dont see how anyone wouldnt have agreed
10/1/2011 11:17:14 AM
^
10/1/2011 11:31:27 AM
oh TWW's selective memory
10/1/2011 11:34:10 AM
i cant imagine anyone on here thinking the media would cover this in a non-negative NCSU light
10/1/2011 11:36:46 AM
Maybe some folks were counter-trolling him.
10/1/2011 11:46:18 AM
the stat they just showed on gameday says it all. rw in 2010 lead the nation by far in converting 3rd and long. way ahead of cam newton (by like 5 conversions) When you have a guy that can convert 3rd and long, it makes up for your team being bad. Thats how we won 9 games last year. It doesn't mean Glennon sucks. It just means he doesn't have that super ability to take over the game.
10/1/2011 11:51:53 AM
I remember Jaybee...My kneejerk reaction was to try and rationalize it because the alternative was just super depressing. Is there a term for schadenfreude when dealing with your own misery?and of course we'd be better on D with Russell here. sustain some drives, keep the opposing offense off the field, score first and limit what the opponent can do what on offense...come on.
10/1/2011 12:04:15 PM
I applaud your honesty in the face of obvious diversity. You are a true profile in courage
10/1/2011 12:19:08 PM
man fuck diversity
10/1/2011 12:24:39 PM
Hahah. My favorite Tysonism ever
10/1/2011 12:26:04 PM
man that went over my headmea culpa, i'm kind of in a bad place right now
10/1/2011 12:29:02 PM
Mike Tyson said "diversity" once when he meant "adversity"
10/1/2011 12:33:32 PM
This thread is going to light up like a firecracker after today's ass-beating.Let's all be realistic here though, Nebraska is a borderline top 25 team that is SEVERELY overrated, so when Wisconsin wins there is no reason to get suicidal.
10/1/2011 12:53:07 PM
no i mean i get it now, but i missed it at the time. because i am a jackass. like tom obrien.
10/1/2011 1:02:29 PM

fundamental disagreement. Great coaches put their pride aside and do what it takes to put elite talent on the field. I understand your values, and pride, and ethics are fine and dandy and all, but its not fun and not something to fall back on when you aren't winning football games. At the end of the day, I have much more respect for the coaches who take risks and "bow down to players".
10/1/2011 2:33:41 PM
no, fundamental stupidity, you stupid fucking troll. great coaches that fuck over their players won't be great coaches for long, you stupid fucking troll. great coaches that let the players run the team won't be great coaches for long, you stupid fucking troll.
10/1/2011 2:35:52 PM
Yeah, who cares about pride, values and ethics? That shit ain't fun!
10/1/2011 2:46:12 PM
the punter is injured during warmups? do we have fat albert doing our strength and conditioning? what in the fuck?
10/1/2011 3:42:30 PM
Unless TOB does something really bone-headed it is going to be hard to get to 40 pages ....
