How long did you have those shares for?
6/4/2008 1:04:42 PM
Damn dude. Do you max out your stock contributions each month at work?
6/4/2008 1:08:51 PM
most of it was vested stock options, (which i have to pay income taxes on immediately ) and the rest was from the purchase plan.]]
6/4/2008 2:03:32 PM
Oh ok. I was contributing a lot to my purchase plan for a while but finally cut down my contributions last pay period to switch the difference over to our new roth 401k plan.
6/4/2008 2:06:25 PM
Damn, and I thought my portfolio was large for my age. Bobby just sold my entire portfolio...LOL...
6/4/2008 2:08:57 PM
with options, I only see the difference between the strike price and the sell price, so it wasn't like I was moving 50Gs or anything. Some of the grants were as low as $9.50 from back in '02, and others were not as profitable at ~$20.
6/4/2008 3:07:30 PM
Oooh. Gotcha.
6/4/2008 3:13:34 PM
take notes from Bobby young grasshoppers -- save early and save oftenon another note. i have half a mind to just trade UCR and DCR from now on. be the next Eric Bolling or Dennis Gartman
6/4/2008 4:33:18 PM
the blokes on Fast Money have been talking about BTU and NUE for a while...i picked up some BTU, but NUE ran up before i could. i'm considering buying X instead.right now might be a good time to pick up some DCR.[Edited on June 5, 2008 at 12:21 PM. Reason : nevermind, that run up on X is kind of scary. shouldn't there be a pullback?]
6/5/2008 12:17:10 PM
alright, in light of today's rally, i think i'm gonna exercise the rest of my CSCO options.someone alert the SEC.
6/5/2008 12:42:20 PM
Nice. I have 20 shares, but I think I'll let them ride.
6/5/2008 1:18:50 PM
Looking more and more like Visa has encountered some resistance in the $85-$90 range. I wonder if it will get past it any time soon.
6/5/2008 2:43:49 PM
I met with Wachovia yesterday to secure a line of credit so that I could build a few more houses. They looked over my Fidelity statement and were impressed with the options. I told them that I was averaging 17% annually they offered me a job on the spot.
6/5/2008 3:13:41 PM
I also sold my CSCO today, was looking to sell at 27 but held out till 27.50, looks like I could have gotten a bit more but didnt want to be too greedy
6/5/2008 3:30:51 PM
^^considering it at all?
6/5/2008 3:50:35 PM
6/5/2008 3:55:12 PM
bought some more DCR @ 1.15lets see if it backfires
6/5/2008 4:03:50 PM
I've got no desire to work for a bank. On the plus side it looks like I'm cleared for a pretty fat line of credit.
6/5/2008 5:24:43 PM
what type of job did the loan officer offer you?
6/5/2008 6:04:40 PM
Just something investment related. I said no before they elaborated much.
6/5/2008 7:30:28 PM
oh ok, i thought you meant that some loan officer offered you an asset management role based on some options returns with no discretion towards risk/reasoning/etc...i was gonna say, it's no wonder they're gonna have to cut their dividend 50%...
6/5/2008 8:13:02 PM
I also picked up some DCR @ 1.15 so lets hope it doesnt backfire
6/6/2008 8:46:43 AM
DCR getting slaughtered
6/6/2008 9:30:49 AM
Indeed Of course so is most everything on my watch board which I suppose I expected today after the jobless shit yesterday[Edited on June 6, 2008 at 9:40 AM. Reason : .]
6/6/2008 9:37:18 AM
Why is just csco real time?http://finance.google.com/finance?q=csco&hl=en&meta=hl%3Den

6/6/2008 9:41:43 AM
I like the google ui better.
6/6/2008 9:43:04 AM
What I have had a tough time with is the fact a few stocks I picked up have been mostly down and they are finally back to my break even point or slightly above and Im trying to decide if I want to pull out and find elsewhere to put the money, or ride it out hoping they will go up finally like I originally thought they would. Id hate to have the chance to get out and see them take another big dip though. Of course I am sure most everyone faces that same thought process.
6/6/2008 10:03:15 AM
Hold
6/6/2008 10:04:07 AM
Ive held it all so far other than CSCO but I didnt have enough shares to warrant holding. It would have taken a big runup to make any serious money so I just took the cash and have it waiting for something while I do some research.
6/6/2008 10:07:28 AM
My portfolio has lost every bit it gained back yesterday.
6/6/2008 12:48:21 PM
I fully expected CSCO to hit $30 today since I monetized all of my vested options yesterday. I'm sure it'll be there next week. never fails.
6/6/2008 12:49:39 PM
I've lost everything I gained yesterday plus more I hate days when I look at the list and every single one is in the red, down almost 4% today hoping for some late afternoon recoveries to soften the blow.
6/6/2008 1:05:23 PM
Picked up some more ETW today.
6/6/2008 3:50:38 PM
I could probably make good money just buying everything you guys say you're down on when you say you're down on it and sell it once it makes even a marginal gain
6/6/2008 3:55:18 PM
Feel free to buy some DCR then
6/6/2008 4:22:28 PM
this is my DCR position:[Edited on June 6, 2008 at 4:30 PM. Reason : too graphic]
6/6/2008 4:28:37 PM
^ haha, glad I caught that before the editI think that I might hook up DRIPs on the C, BAC, and WB stocks that I've been sitting on since before they went to shit. The price on all three has gotten so low that all of their dividends are between 6 and 8%.
6/6/2008 4:38:19 PM
Hold me. I think I'll sell all my GE. I'm down like...$11k since October. Fucking' shit. Tired of losing money on GE.
6/6/2008 4:48:23 PM
^^ Those divs are gonna be cut
6/6/2008 4:58:08 PM
glad i sold some shit yesterday....
6/6/2008 6:41:49 PM
time for me to buy some shit
6/6/2008 7:02:06 PM
^^^ Definitely possible. My main reasoning is that I'm confident that the stocks will recover at some point in the future so I don't mind picking up more without paying out of pocket.
6/6/2008 8:37:12 PM
ouch. down 3.2% todaythink i'll sell my Navteq (as it's pretty much stagnant no matter what the market does) and buy something on this drop...the question is, what?[Edited on June 7, 2008 at 3:28 AM. Reason : asdfasd]
6/7/2008 3:27:40 AM
recommend me some stocks.
6/7/2008 5:50:57 AM

6/7/2008 7:48:42 AM

6/8/2008 3:38:47 AM

6/8/2008 11:58:24 PM
