heaven forbid you have to pay actual money to play a next-gen system

11/25/2006 3:24:49 AM
well... yea.
11/25/2006 3:36:34 AM
If you can't transfer saves to the SD card and you can't transfer VC games to it, that slot is pretty damn useless. What else is it useful for? Photo editing?
11/25/2006 11:31:17 AM
^you can transfer the games from the system to the sd card with one of the updates. i'm not so worried about not being able to transfer from the card to another system, but rather if you can play the games and saves from the card on another system.

^^^the reason people are upset about the cost is the wii has been marketed as the economic friendly choice...when in reality...a premium xbox at 399+150 for 3 more wireless controllers =550...where as a nintendo wii=250+270 for 3 more controllers is roughly the same price. So in reality, there isnt much of a difference in price between the 2 systems.
11/25/2006 12:58:02 PM
Where in the hell do you get 270$ for 3 remotes? At wal-mart the wiimote is 39.76, and the nunchuck is 19.87. Thats 59.63, which is roughly 180 for 3.3 Xbox 360 wireless controllers: 149.973 Wii Controllers: 178.89Your numbers, in reality:Xbox 360 + 3 controllers: (399+150) = 549Wii + 3 controllers: (249+180) = 429Thats $120 difference, not exactly "roughly the same price"[Edited on November 25, 2006 at 1:22 PM. i ignored his post b/c he's retarded. thanks for at least letting him know w/o me taking the time
11/25/2006 1:25:24 PM
that's $120 worth of pwn slapping you in the face tmmercer, in case you were wondering what that stinging sensation was
11/25/2006 1:54:58 PM
plus it comes with a game, but shrug

^ yeah, i'm lazy as hell. after a few days playing wii sports hardcore my arms started aching a little. boxing and baseball especially give your arms a workout.with the rubber glove and strap i haven't had any issues with losing control of the wiimote. before i bought the glove it did slip out of my hand once during bowling, but the strap caught it before it could fuck up my tv
11/25/2006 3:25:57 PM
They need to seriously rethink their pricing structure. $10 for an N64 game isn't bad, but Sonic, Ristar, and Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine can all be found in Sonic Mega Collection (along with other Sonic games) for the GC and it's only $20, compared to $24 total through the Virtual Console. My older brother laughed at playing Wii Boxing, but now he plays it until he is drenched in sweat.
11/25/2006 4:12:03 PM
the boxing game doesnt seem to register all my punches, so i havent found it quite as amusing as the other games. i try to over emphasize my punches, but it doesnt seem to help much
11/25/2006 4:19:26 PM
i havent tried buying a game with wii points yet. can i use an old Game Cube controller instead of the Wii remote for N64 games or will i need to get a Wii classic controller?
11/25/2006 4:27:57 PM
has anyone played games other than zelda or wii sports that they enjoy? i'm trying to compile a christmas list. i'm particularly interested in red steel, madden, and call of duty 3, and i may consider elebits and far cry once they come out.btw, i'm through 5 temples in zelda and i've logged a little over a day of play time. this game has taken over my life.
11/25/2006 4:31:21 PM
Playing DBZ Tenkaichi 2 with the Wii controllers is fun, although you look like kind of a spaz. Rayman is another fun party game and really funny.
11/25/2006 5:12:03 PM
only other wii games that i'm kinda interested in right now are rayman and trauma center
11/25/2006 5:23:45 PM
Rayman is awesome. Looking at getting trauma center as well, anyone played that yet?
11/25/2006 5:51:01 PM
Man, I think the Wii is the only system I'd actually consider buying. My brothers bought one Friday, along with Zelda. One of their friends bought Trauma Center and Dragonball Z yesterday. Trauma Center is fuuuun shit. I had played it on their DS Lite the a few nights ago and then saw them playing it last night on the Wii.I'm also a big fan of the Wii Sports game. <3 tennis and bowling. and boxing is pretty fun too!
11/25/2006 7:07:23 PM
Elibits seems like a good one also. now they've preorder @ Eb ..Free plush ..pretty cute !!
11/25/2006 7:17:38 PM
how is excite truck?
11/25/2006 8:22:33 PM
whens the next shipment?
11/25/2006 8:24:54 PM
sorry, i read the prices wrong somewhere...but you can just go with the core system for roughly the same price...and ive seen the premium for 300 at some places...btw im not a fanboy of either...i was just making a point..but you called yourself out you nintendofags
11/25/2006 8:36:43 PM
^^BestBuy should have more for sale tomorrow.

11/25/2006 8:56:27 PM
Excite truck is f'ing awesome.I really like it.
11/25/2006 8:59:47 PM
im' gonna have to get gamefly or something
11/25/2006 9:17:18 PM
I went to rent a game at blockbuster and they wanted 7.99
11/25/2006 9:43:26 PM
11/25/2006 9:59:30 PM
I'd encourage anyone to pick up both the 360, for the HD, high-end graphics experience, and the Wii, for the unique gameplay. Avoid the PS3; the GameStop at Brier Creek said their's crashed nine times the first weekend.

11/25/2006 11:05:30 PM
^^[no]...for pure "horsepower" there is no denying that the xbox is the better buy...saying that, i think the nintendo wii will be extremely fun and both will be worth owning...its just not as good of a buy as the nintendofags like yourself make it out to be
11/25/2006 11:06:38 PM
"horsepower"look i mean, i could sell you a whole stable of horses but i doubt you'd get as much fun out of them as you would the wii[Edited on November 25, 2006 at 11:49 PM. Reason : .]

11/25/2006 11:51:44 PM
Best Buy is getting Wiis tomorrow, so if you want one, get there early.
11/26/2006 12:09:02 AM
Swung by WalMart in Sanford earlier, they had nunchuks in, so other places probably will too.
11/26/2006 12:14:45 AM
Red Steel is actually pretty good I think. The single player is alot better than multiplayer...and it's much easier to control if you turn the controller sensitivity all the way down. Still, you gotta stand up while playing. It'll get frustrating fast if you're sitting. I'm still debating if it was worth $50 though. Zelda is better though. My roommate got CoD3 and loves it.And I'm loving Wii Sports more and more. Though my brother broke one of my remotes last night bowling. He accidentally whacked a cabinet with it, and the little black cover on the front came out. We popped it back in and it still works...but it was hard cause you can't unscrew the top off because it uses some funky japanese screws.
11/26/2006 12:19:58 AM
I dont know how you could price compare a grossly underpowered system to an xbox360 (or ps3 which i guess you didnt even try). Get youre point out that it has a cool implementation of a controller and move on. By all means excite truck , and wii sports away. Call back when a decent multiplayer game gets released.
11/26/2006 12:23:01 AM
Just wait until Super Smash Brothers comes out and you will see the best multiplayer game of the decade.
11/26/2006 12:38:32 AM
is this going to have similiar "knock foe off ledge" game technique?
11/26/2006 12:49:21 AM
dammit.. first one in line to not get one at best buy this morning anyone know when the next shipments might be?
11/26/2006 11:13:08 AM
just curious..how many did they have
11/26/2006 11:14:43 AM
crossroads had 51 wiis, wilmington had 42 wiis
11/26/2006 11:58:25 AM
how do yall know when the shipments are coming in,cause i want one lol
11/26/2006 12:13:38 PM
^most retailers (BB, CC, Target) seem to be getting shipments to sell each Sunday. Deal sites (slickdeals, cheapassgamer, etc.) have sources that post the upcoming weekly ads at least a week or so in advance, so check those to see which retailers will have them for sale that week.
11/26/2006 1:06:01 PM
Bwahahaah, that guy who had the Wiimote strap break is sooooo Canadian.
