any takers on this reaching 50 pages before we get a coach?
4/6/2006 12:22:07 AM
nobut have i missed anything in the past 4 hours ive been away from my computer? any new serious developments?
4/6/2006 12:23:04 AM
nothing
4/6/2006 12:23:20 AM
it stands for pack pride. the website where disgruntled fans fume, and everyone else just laughs.
4/6/2006 12:23:44 AM
is it possible if we land rick barnes to have any of his recruits come with him to ncsu next season or the 07 season?
4/6/2006 12:37:37 AM
only if we cut some of our schollies
4/6/2006 12:39:15 AM
how bout this...if we get half of our undergrad glass (approximately 15,000), to give $1 to a "Welcome Rick Barnes" bonus fund, we could lure him with $15,000 out of students pockets. now THAT would say alot.
4/6/2006 12:39:16 AM
'07 is likely the only one that could happen, although many coaches refrain from chasing kids they recruited from their last job.
4/6/2006 12:40:29 AM
^anything to back that up
4/6/2006 12:43:21 AM
^thats true, buta few have NC State listed from 2007 as well...http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=110&p=9&cfg=bb&c=4&yr=2007
4/6/2006 12:44:06 AM
^^I'm not going to dig up evidence to support general trends and recruiting ethics/philosophies. You can research if you really care. It's not common for players to get a release from a LOI and follow the coach. Whether a coach recruits a guy he recruited at his last job for his second year depends on whether they see that as appropriate or not.
4/6/2006 12:56:55 AM
I just talked to Rick Barnes on the phone he said to me "hello fellow Wolfpacker I am part of the Wolfpack now for I have officially signed a contract to coach the North Carolina State University men's basketball team and have also decided to donate my paycheck back to the students by paying their tuition and having the pizza/ice cream parties, of which there will be many since I will throw one for every national championship I will win in the next 10 years (which is 10)"
4/6/2006 1:00:04 AM
haha
4/6/2006 1:01:24 AM
He just PM'd me to ask for recommendations on places to live. I told him to avoid Lake Park.
4/6/2006 1:05:49 AM
loli hear he is looking for a penthouse at Uhouse
4/6/2006 1:09:45 AM
He is on campus right now! Just saw him by the atrium.
4/6/2006 1:12:21 AM
I heard Rick Barnes sneezed and he put the fire out at the atrium.
4/6/2006 1:13:48 AM
When someone said Rick Barnes didn't have the balls to coach at NC State, he proceeded to castrate a longhorn bull with his bare hands.
4/6/2006 1:34:45 AM
those tarholes speak like they are scared of barnes, he must be their kryptonite!
4/6/2006 1:35:44 AM
no. im pretty sure that dismal record he has against them posted pages back would say otherwise
4/6/2006 1:37:38 AM
against DEANi dont think its that bad against Roy
4/6/2006 1:51:42 AM
with the way theyve been owning us, i wouldnt really care what coach we got if i was at unc
4/6/2006 1:55:05 AM
ok...lets just say for the sake of argument...lets just say...lets just say...(keep repeating myself so the freaks will hesitate flaming me)...lets just say that barnes turns down offer, jay wright's contract buyout is just too big, calapari's past (see umass) isn't that far removed making it an impossible sale to the old school wpc guys, and we have to settle for a mid-major. anyone mentioned lutz from charlotte? what do you guys think about him?
4/6/2006 2:23:33 AM
lutz? please. what part of herb sendek whipping him don't you understand? Let's just go ahead and throw out haith, gillen, archie miller, doherty, sendek, isiah thomas[Edited on April 6, 2006 at 2:25 AM. Reason : sdfsdf]
4/6/2006 2:24:44 AM
I would rather see the wichita st. coach or Haith than lutz. I seriously doubt we can't find a great coach with $2 million. Bring me Calpari, Pitino, or Tubby.
4/6/2006 2:36:21 AM
please no lutz, his mustache is entirely too goofy.
4/6/2006 2:49:37 AM
Gillespie if we can't the top 3
4/6/2006 2:52:41 AM
Tubby is still my top choice
4/6/2006 2:55:35 AM
^^^^^what was sendeks record against him? i really dont remember except 1-1. cant remember if they faced each other more than that or not. i just know the man's teams show up for "big games" as he has always given cincinatti fits. def. not my first choice, im just saying if we get hung out to dry by the few big names still available...^^^^i agree with all of those except calapari will be a hard sale with older wpc members because of his shady past. tubby, wouldn't have a problem with him except it would probably be more difficult to get him to leave kentucky than rb to leave texas. patino? who knows what is ever on this guys mind? but it def. would be worth throwing a couple of million at him. only thing about patino is you never know how long he is going to stay. would hate to waste 2 million a year on him only to leave in 3 years if the nba bug were to strike again.[Edited on April 6, 2006 at 2:58 AM. 4/6/2006 2:57:30 AM
4/6/2006 8:10:34 AM
Pitino said a few years ago that he would never take over a program that fired one of his boys.. I think this was in direct reference to the talk of firing Sendek a few years ago.. Now we didn't fire Sendek but I doubt he would come here after hearing all the talk of how we treated him... But 2mil could change his mind..
4/6/2006 8:14:30 AM
So did we hire Barnes yet or what?
4/6/2006 8:15:45 AM
4/6/2006 9:03:08 AM
I heard he is bringing Chuck Norris with him.
4/6/2006 9:06:11 AM
^wow, reading the statefans thread too longlets not do the whole "chuck norris" thing over here tooNew Rumor on the freeboard is that Wral is reporting that we may have offered 2.5 million fwiw
4/6/2006 9:12:38 AM
can someone link the PP thread. for some reason i cant go there directly cause im baned but if someone links the first page of it i can open it and read it[dumbass]Lokken[/dumbass][Edited on April 6, 2006 at 9:14 AM. Reason : pwnt]wait that link up there goes to a thread that doesnt exist. can someone post a link to the mammoth thread?[Edited on April 6, 2006 at 9:16 AM. Reason : *]
4/6/2006 9:13:37 AM
^^yeah, the numbers i have been hearing are between 1.9M and 2.5M
4/6/2006 9:14:43 AM
one of the mods at pp locked the thread b/c it was "too hard to get information from it"
4/6/2006 9:27:20 AM
4/6/2006 9:28:41 AM
bahtww > pp
4/6/2006 9:28:54 AM
As if Barnes' son would be like
4/6/2006 9:36:42 AM
^hell, i agree with you....just passing on info to help move along the threadI am damn sure that his son would not say "Hellz yeah, he is streight dippin for the East Coast, and he is taking some brisket with him playa"but its just something to thing about
4/6/2006 9:37:58 AM
alot of people are talking about how easy it is for barnes to recruit in texas and how difficult it would be for him to recruit here next to duke and unc.but where did tucker come from? right here
4/6/2006 10:00:29 AM
i get so hopeful reading pp then come here and get doubtful again dang it rick, tell us already!btw, pp has a thread dedicated to tracking plane flights, heh.

4/6/2006 10:26:02 AM
Not that I want Lutz, but how was Charlotte more disappointing than a preseason top-15 Wake Forrest?
4/6/2006 10:28:22 AM
mostly because we arent trying to hire skip prosser....but lutz has been mentioned a possible coach here beforethere's about to be something on Laranga...but I think it's because he is going to Seton Hall[Edited on April 6, 2006 at 10:36 AM.
