^rumor is that he likes us but his dad is holding him back some. i think if we prove that we are definitely better than we were under Lowe, he will have a hard time not committing to us[Edited on January 11, 2012 at 10:56 AM. Reason : d]

Good point. I really wouldn't consider Harris a "big", but wasn't he listed as a combo-forward on some sites? But as of now, in 2014, TDT is our only real "big", and maybe Vandy if he gets a redshirt.
1/11/2012 11:28:27 AM
Sucks that we couldn't get Uchebo this year.
1/11/2012 11:36:30 AM
i think the plan if we miss on amile is to get that bojanovsky guy from the same place as TDT
1/11/2012 12:07:19 PM
we'd have three big foreign white guys
1/11/2012 12:13:06 PM
how big is TDT? Seems like trying to run him against true centers/PFs would be a stretch
1/11/2012 12:18:39 PM
that would not be good
1/11/2012 12:19:15 PM
TDT is listed at 6'8"...

so he obviously had academic problems
1/11/2012 2:30:26 PM
He was a foreigner who moved around a lot and seemed to have "transfer problems".
1/11/2012 2:32:56 PM
same thing

Looks like we're after a JUCO power forward:http://norcalbasketball.blogspot.com/2011/12/update-on-mpcs-andrew-young.html

wow second comment on that page...

I'll be real happy if we get a big that can finish around the basket consistently. I have trouble expressing how demoralizing it is to see Howell and Painter miss open layups. Leslie can finish, but he has some pretty spectacular turnovers as well. I had hopes for TDT, but quite honestly, the Bricking Dutchman is a terrible shooter.

ESPN shows that we aren't even on his list. How accurate is that?

(hint: never take a recruiting site's lists too seriously)

Hello. I am new to this thread and it is 300 pages long.I was wondering, is the recruiting for 2012 done? And if not, how many schollies does state have available. How many more do you expect will sign? How many are schollies are teams allowed to give out overall?
1/11/2012 8:54:20 PM
I believe one scholly left, the last recruit we're going after strongly for 2012 is amile jefferson. also been some rumors of julius randle because he's tight with purvis but thats a long shot
1/11/2012 9:04:22 PM
Randle is class of 2013 I thought.
1/11/2012 9:05:06 PM
yauriteso we may have two left since we're also maybe still in the mix for torian graham[Edited on January 11, 2012 at 9:07 PM. Reason : http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=9&c=4&cfg=bb&yr=2012]

until I see proof that TDT can score, Amile or Randle are almost necessities to us having a good team 2 years from now.
1/11/2012 11:31:19 PM
^I also think TDT has half the vertical Howell does.

He took the time to take a visit here and watch a game, and he talks about us in the media. We have a shot, it may be a far-shot, but chill with the definitive statements with nothing to back it up besides "he's really good".
1/12/2012 2:56:17 PM
Julius Randle is an absolute monster, if he came to state he might wind up being the best recruit we have ever landed. It will really really reallllllly suck if he went to UNC or Duke
1/12/2012 3:59:54 PM
@BulletI didn't realize I had to back something up that is so easily accessible on the web but since you want to be a tool about it:We aren't listed on any of his ranking boards and according to Rivals, ESPN, and Scout, we aren't a school of interest to him but I'm sure none of them know shit.http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player?id=102849&_slug_=julius-randlehttp://rivals.yahoo.com/kansas/basketball/recruiting/player-Julius-Randle-108009http://kansas.scout.com/a.z?s=172&p=8&c=1&cfg=bb&nid=4763170Until we are listed as an actual school of interest or he flat out says he wants to come here, I'm not getting my hopes up. We would have to have a phenomenal year this year and do well in the NCAA tourny to push us over Duke or UNC. His interview clearly showed he is more interested in them than us. He barely mentioned us and that was probably out of respect for Rodney.[Edited on January 12, 2012 at 4:24 PM. Reason : I mean seriously, what are you guys seeing that I'm not. We haven't even made an offer to him yet.]
1/12/2012 4:21:07 PM
Guy, you're the one being a tool, coming on here claiming "WE HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO SHOT" just because we're not listed as a school of interest on some recruiting sites, and because he's really good. Those lists aren't very accurate. We weren't on Rodney's for a long time. We weren't on Torian's when he just tried to recommit. I'm under no illusion that Julius is coming here. If i had to bet, I'd bet against it. But I know that he visited, watched a game, and has mentioned us in several interviews. So we have a shot. May be a slim shot, but it's a shot. What's the point of coming on here and saying "WE HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO SHOT", when you really have nothing to back it up except recruiting site lists?
1/12/2012 4:27:45 PM
I think everyone can agree he's not coming here, why argue over semantics?
1/12/2012 4:31:58 PM
i wouldn't agree with that right now. people said the same think about cjl. and rodney purvis. i'll just wait and see.
1/12/2012 4:34:03 PM
So according to you, I can't use research from the web and the recruiting media (whom you deem inaccurate for some reason even though this is their job). I can't use the fact that he is one of the best recruits IN A DECADE as evidence that he won't select us because we aren't a national player for NBA talent or championship contention. I can't use the fact that we historically don't often win recruiting battles with Duke and UNC and I cannot take his own statements from an interview he gave as material for "backing up my statements." What the fuck evidence am I supposed to use? What are you using to back up your statements? Like I said, until there is concrete evidence that we are a legitimate school for him to attend, I absolutely have no reason to think he will choose us. He has 10+ schools recruiting him and just about all of them have a better recent track record than we do.[Edited on January 12, 2012 at 4:55 PM. Reason : .][Edited on January 12, 2012 at 4:56 PM.
