It's Friends & Family at Macy's for those that were talking about places to find dresses for a party25% off with code MACYSFF

Loft.com is back up

So maybe I'm blind but I click on
11/29/2011 12:37:34 PM
Got my boots! Yay! Nice leather, fits well (could be a TEENSY bit smaller, but, there's enough room for thick socks), and pretty nice to walk in.I don't have anywhere to go today though, so I'm just walking around the house in them
11/29/2011 12:51:57 PM
I wish Nordstrom would have their friends and family. macy's shipping doesn't make my item much different in price
11/29/2011 12:58:17 PM
This is totally out of the ordinary, but I have the worst lady pains right now. I just took an Rx ibuprofen left over from my C-section. I hope it helps. I'm not bleeding or anything, just cramping so bad my privates even hurt. On the upside, the last night's Chit Chat Sexual Tension turned into some major bwning with the hubs.
11/29/2011 4:09:58 PM
take tylenol as wellI have them really bad and my doc told me to take the highest dose of ibuprofen and tylenol togethercrazy I know but it does help!
11/29/2011 4:10:58 PM
They had a story on NPR the other day that was talking about how some study showed that the most effective OTC pain reliever is to mix and match types. Like one aspirin and one tylenol together works better than just the one.
11/29/2011 6:15:44 PM
I really like this skirt but what sort of top would you do with it? Just a simple black shirt?
11/29/2011 6:58:16 PM
Well I ended up being bad and buying a black dress for Cyber Tuesday.I figure not only will it work for this party but I also have two weddings to attend next year I can wear it for as well. Hopefully my red pumps are still at my parents' place.
11/30/2011 9:04:36 PM
Ugh I have a shopping problem. This morning I bought a pair of black skinny Joe Jeans from Nordstrom that were 50% off. And then I decided I wanted some black booties to go with my new jeans and I found these on ideeli for $49. http://www.6pm.com/maxstudio-changzhouAhhhhhhhhhhhh so cute. I can't wait to have them!(sorry I couldn't link the picture. I am on my iPad)
11/30/2011 9:18:38 PM
Those are super cute! I wish I could wear heels like that but I fall all over myself. I usually stick to shortie short heels.
11/30/2011 9:29:47 PM
I know! They are super fun! I used to have a pair of black leather round toe mary jane pumps and I wore them down to the ground. I had been on the hunt since for another pair and this is like the perfect booty/mary jane pump love child. I bet you could wear the heels. Anything with a strap across the foot helps with keeping the foot in place and there's actually a 3/4th platform in the shoe so it's really like a 3.25 inch heel instead of a 4 inch one.
11/30/2011 9:36:32 PM
Yeah I think I just need to practice. I bought some real heels from Payless last year and while the first few weeks sucked I got used to them. I'm sure if I upsized them I would get used to them. My mom is a total hippie flower child so I never really got a chance to steal her heels and practice on them Only now have I started experimenting with fashion. Back in the day it would not be uncommon to find me in flannel shirts and frumpy polos.
11/30/2011 9:41:01 PM
I got an email.from Loft.com concerning their website going down on Monday.
12/2/2011 8:03:54 AM
yay my blue dress from ideeli came yesterday (3 days earlier than expected!) and it looks SO good. i just need to get the length taken up because it ends up between my knees and my ankles and a shorty like me can't be rocking something at such an awkward length. i'm going to get it taken up to the knee and plan on wearing it for my fiancee's christmas party with some black tights and (hopefully) my new black booties i bought a couple of posts up
12/2/2011 8:26:09 AM
^^That's nice that they're trying to make up and all for their website crash, but that deal is nowhere close to 50% off purchase + free shipping it would have been on Monday.
12/2/2011 9:03:00 AM
lol yeah seriously. You'd think they would offer the same deal.
12/2/2011 9:05:02 AM
^^Well they extended their 50% off and free shipping deal through Tuesday night at midnight. This is the same deal they had in the store Friday morning until noon.
12/2/2011 9:38:30 AM
That makes sense. I thought the site was down Tuesday also. But if it was up and running, then that is a nice, an unexpected bonus.
12/2/2011 9:45:16 AM
Yeah, I got back on the site on Tuesday with no issues, but all the things I wanted were sold out of course. Also, my Land's End order shipped yesterday. and I hate ideeli because it takes forever for their stuff to ship.
12/2/2011 9:56:41 AM
Man, my dress is taking FOREVER to ship. UPS says estimated delivery time is next Wednesday. It probably would have gotten here faster if they had just used the post office.
12/2/2011 10:17:13 AM
These make me wish I hadn't already bought myself brown boots I could always use a casual pair though, right? I mean $40.....
12/2/2011 10:53:57 AM
Freaking myself out watching I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant, and the chick had PCOS. (what I have) and she got pregnant right after her wedding and had no clue. Luckily, I'm not retarded, and I use birth control.

12/2/2011 11:08:23 AM
I have had an ideeli order in the past take 15 days. But they've consistently been much better. I ordered something a bit ago, and it took 5 days to get here. They had it coming out via UPS, and then transferred it to USPS, so that added another 2 days (over Thanksgiving). The next package I ordered, (two days after the first) arrived in 5 days also (same transfer from UPS to USPS at the last minute).[Edited on December 2, 2011 at 12:47 PM. Reason : 5 business days.]
12/2/2011 12:46:55 PM
my package that came yesterday switched over to USPS once it got to Raleigh, which is fine because UPS doesn't deliver to our house until like 6pm and the mail comes much earlier. plus, we've been having a lot of problems with UPS not delivering our stuff on the day it's supposed to be delivered - a few weeks ago a couple of packages we ordered ended up coming days later than it was supposed to. plus our UPS guy throws our stuff at the door instead of gently placing it on the ground
12/2/2011 1:36:48 PM
My first order with ideeli took absurdly long, but they got a bit better over the following months. Then I ordered something a few weeks ago, and only one item was shipped not too far after (with no packing slip, which means I couldn't return it. LAME) The rest of the order has yet to appear. I'm just pissed with their inconsistent service. With ruelala now offering the thirty-day shipping deal, I will stick with them, despite the relatively smaller selection.
12/2/2011 1:37:25 PM
yeah, when I placed the order they told me up front it wouldn't ship until after Dec 15th so I knew what I was getting into I guess. I am thinking about buying something from Sephora for my boyfriend's sister. I'm not sure what to look for though since I"ve never bought anything from this company. :-/ I wish she would just tell me what she wants instead of me guessing. I told her what I wanted. was thinking of maybe something general like this:or a shitload of nailpolish?[Edited on December 2, 2011 at 2:42 PM. Reason : i dunno]

I feel like I broke my Pinterest somehow. There used to be new stuff on it every time I checked, but now it's been virtually stagnant this whole week. Only like 5 new things have shown up on my "boards you're following" page. Do I just not understand how to do the internets?
12/2/2011 2:41:14 PM
haha i am buying that exact makeup palette for my cousin
12/2/2011 2:45:11 PM
^yeah $50 for all that makeup isn't too bad. I just don't want it to be shitty makeup.
12/2/2011 2:46:55 PM
it got pretty good reviews
12/2/2011 2:57:48 PM
FYI if you are a beauty insider with sephora (free) they just emailed today $15 gift card with a $50 purchase...
12/2/2011 6:01:55 PM
Hey ladies ... have any of you done boudoir photos? If so, got any pointers? I'm planning a boudoir sesh and am trying to prep for it. Anniversary gift for the bf.

--Bring more stuff than you think that you'll need. Lots of different kinds of outfits. I'd recommend 3-4 bra/panty sets, a few lingerie teddy/corset outfits, several pairs of heels. You don't know what's going to look best with your setting until you get there. Also, bring one of his shirts and ties (this looks fantastic with pearls).--Get some jewelry. Lots of really long strands of pearls can look really nice. Try Forever 21 for cheap versions of this. But you don't want to overdo it with jewelry. --Go through a ton of sample photos from all different websites and get different ideas of what you want. Different poses, settings and send them to your photographer ahead of time. That gives you guys a basis to start with, and you'll know what kinds of outfits to pick.--Think about props. If he's a big sports fan, wear a jersey by his favorite team. If he loves how you cook, bring a sexy apron, some cupcakes, and a silver tray to "present" them to him. If he's got a favorite perfume, one of my favorite budoir photogs does a neat shot where she takes a photo of you through the perfume bottle.--Relax, and be yourself. Don't ruin a photo because you've got a fake smile, he'll be able to tell!--If you can bring someone to do your hair and makeup like a friend/sister (if you don't want to pay), that may make things easier.--Reapply your lipstick between sessions, make sure you look fresh. If you're doing this for a while, you might look "wilted" by the end of the session, and you're paying too much money for that!![Edited on December 3, 2011 at 5:26 PM. Reason : ]

Great advice! Thank you! I have a creative consultation with the photographer. She's worked with several of my gf's, and I LOVE her work, so I'm excited. I'll have a nice variety of lingerie and heels, though I never thought about the tie! That's a really cute idea! May have to try that.--For jewelry, I have a couple of gfs who are Stella & Dot stylists ... will borrow from their collection. And he gave me diamond earrings for my bday. Will def wear those.--I have a few different ideas of what to do. He has very classic tastes (loves Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Kidman, etc), so def want to do something that's very feminine and classic. And he's very into golf, tennis and film, so am thinking of how to make any of those themes work in a sexy way. Really nervous about that coming across as cheesy though. Could use some suggestions for that. I know I get at least 3 different outfits/themes. --LOVE the cupcake idea. I cook a lot, so that would def get a rise. LOL. I love the Rachel Ray Maxim shoot. --I'm inviting a couple of gfs to join, hang out, enjoy wine, etc. This girl has worked with a bunch of my gfs, so we're just having a little Girls Night In. Another gf may shoot with us as well.--We have a GREAT makeup artist. It's worth the money to me, as I'm not great with makeup. Thanks for the wonderful ideas! Very helpful. Did you do a shoot? Was it worth the $$$?

This is what I mean with the shirt/tie, although I've seen some done much better than this one:http://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ljm1qxrMwb1qd93pro1_500.jpgI really like this use of the pearls, if you have a nice back: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hQlxU2mAdFo/TnH8q8duYCI/AAAAAAAABVM/Ttaa21fMBdg/s1600/pearls.jpgHere are some golf ideas that don't look too cheesy: http://shadowcatcherboudoir.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/img_2264tease_web.jpg http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_RXdI-YfJo2k/TCF_VtrHzuI/AAAAAAAABOI/mClPiTlJZtM/s1600/pinup+girl+-+golf+-+boudoir+louisville_2.jpg http://www.charlotteboudoirphotographers.com/photos/blog/2010/12212010/BoudoirPhotographer2.aspxAnd I absolutely love this pose: http://clockworkweddings.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/boudoir1.jpg

Love the pearls pic and the last pic (the profile on the bed)Would love to do a golf club version that's similar to the way the pearl pic is ... like, view of the back, cute panties, heels, and stretching with a golf club.
