I know you eliminated $40,000 of debt for me a few months ago, but I'm not going to vote for you because you more recently couldn't eat a piece of spicy pizza.

Lol are you fucking kidding me rwoody, people very much are "what have you done for me lately"
4/2/2022 8:58:50 PM
Prob shouldn't have put sanctions on Putin, just wait til October. Dont release oil reserves just wait til October. Why did the pass infrastructure last year, should have waited for October. It's just a wild excuse, especially when you know they arent going to do it in October.
4/2/2022 9:20:39 PM
What exactly am I excusing? I'm just saying the general electorate has a short term memory, this is a known fact.Considering your last argument on here went"Hey remember when you people told me Biden wasn't serious about funding the police?"Oh sorry, I made that up, but Biden should do it because it's what the people clearly want""Oh sorry, it doesn't have the support I claimed it did, but it's still the right thing, infact, I pride myself on not following the masses"I'm not surprised you're having trouble following along [Edited on April 2, 2022 at 10:07 PM. Reason : A]
4/2/2022 10:06:25 PM
One I admitted my error the other you misunderstood. "pride myself in not following the masses" is trying to put on me some implied feelings of nobility and contrarianism (not a word? Close enough) for saying something I think most people would say: my opinions are my own, not following the masses. I would generally like things I think are right to be done regardless of popularity, sometimes more strongly then others. I'm probably wrong for some reason on somewhere bw 0-100% of those wants. Just like everyone else. ANYWAY, so you're saying I misunderstood your comment. Let's back up.Do you think they will do this in October? Do you think they should? Was your comment meant to be just rhetorical or argumentative to me implying they should forgive loans?
4/2/2022 10:50:17 PM
I think if Biden massively expands the current student loan forgiveness program, he should wait till closer to the election.I don't believe he'll forgive all student debt, but I think there will be some additional forgiveness. I am generally opposed to massive forgiveness programs that would eliminate all student debt with no caveats. I support eliminating interest rates, good behavior type forgiveness (make on time payments for 2 years and it eliminates the rest of your loan), targeting public service employees with loans (teachers, nurses etc), and similar policies.
4/3/2022 8:23:11 AM
Ok, thank you for the more detailed explanation. I would bet heavily against any forgiveness at all at this point. Pelosi has said it may be a bad idea politically and Biden said he doesn't 'think' he can do it on EO.All that said, October would be better late than never but I'm def not holding my breath.
4/3/2022 10:49:10 AM
Biden has increased forgiveness programs and has already absolved 11 billion in student debt at this point
4/3/2022 11:56:40 AM
Good!
4/3/2022 12:53:00 PM
Yeah, this is why you come off as disingenuous/uninformed.
4/3/2022 1:22:55 PM
Jesus christ man take a break, even when i say something positive you've got something negative to say. You know we're talking about different things. Universal/broad forgiveness vs updating pre existing forgiveness programs. I even think your 11b number might be low/out of date![Edited on April 3, 2022 at 1:45 PM. Reason : E]

lots of credibility points for praising the union movement going on at Amazon
4/6/2022 2:06:31 PM
I'm against any forgiveness program that doesn't also come with concurrent changes as to how people pay for college. What's the point in forgiving all the current loans out there when the same day they're forgiven, thousands more new loans are taken out?I say this from a position of benefiting heavily from any general forgiveness program.
4/6/2022 3:43:10 PM
There should be a cap on the maximum amount of interest a student loan can accumulate is my solution. In addition to the forgiveness programs.

I’m trying not to be too reactive but democrat leaders are complete clowns. So frustrating how disconnected from reality they seem 5 years after losing to a reality tv show joke

You mean he doesn't have a prepared statement for a non-finalized opinion that was leaked? Shocking. He gave the logical answer.

Takes a prepared statement to say "yes absolutely we should do anything in our power to protect the right to choose"[Edited on May 3, 2022 at 7:54 PM. Reason : And if they need a statement they've had plenty of time]

I swear, you have this super oversimplified view of politics.Wanting to eliminate the filibuster is this super feel good idea that no one wants to consider the ramifications for. How would Trumps presidency looked without a filibuster?
5/3/2022 8:08:21 PM
Since the draft argument seems centered around states rights, even if a federal law was passed what is the argument that this court wouldn’t strike said law down?
5/3/2022 8:36:07 PM
Do you think if McConnell really needed something passed he wouldn't get rid of it anyway? Talk about simplistic views. McConnell will violate any rule or precedent to get what he wants, luckily they mostly prefer the status quo and their true wants, low taxes, can mostly be passed with 50.We're here today bc McConnell blocked garland, ended filibuster for gorsuch and shoved through Barrett.Democrats scream about rules and process but voters don't give a shit about that, all they see is you didn't get it done. There's no referee to throw a flag or call a foul. How do you propose protecting a woman's right to choose? Electing 10 (11??) more Dem senators??[Edited on May 3, 2022 at 8:43 PM. Reason : E]
5/3/2022 8:41:26 PM
Nothing. It would be have to be codified by Constitutional Ammendment to be bullet proof.
5/3/2022 8:46:11 PM
^^ maybe Bernie or Bust folks should have gone to the polls.Regardless McConnel refused to eliminate the filibuster when Trump begged him to. If you don't think the filibuster saved us from an even more deranged Trump presidency, you haven't been paying attention. People need to show up and vote in every election. How many fucking idiots out there are currently saying "well if Biden doesn't eliminate student debt, I ain't showing up"

5/3/2022 9:01:21 PM
Like seriously, our favorite resident tankie on page 1 of this thread said he wanted Trump to beat Biden because it would help in the long run. Absolutely moronic takes.

5/3/2022 9:41:42 PM
"A correct interpretation of the Constitution would keep Dems home"
5/3/2022 9:45:19 PM
The constitution says you can't codify the right to choose into law at the national level? Biden and the Dems are dumb then bc they keep talking about it. The house already passed a bill.
5/3/2022 9:48:55 PM
Because people don't understand the Constitution and love feel good measures even if they'll never pass? There's nothing to stop a State getting an immediate injunction against the law and SCOTUS overturning it
5/3/2022 9:53:00 PM
Seriously, do you have an understanding how much having the law pass and it be struck down by SCOTUS would make things worse? Dems would have opened up the filibuster option and made it easier for Republicans to kill shit like FACE.
5/3/2022 9:59:26 PM
Dang ok oh well, guess abortion will just be illegal in half the country for the next 20-40 years. You win.
5/3/2022 10:08:50 PM
Oh fuck off with that shit, I clearly don't support this decision, but that doesn't mean the Constitution goes out the window. If people want to fix this, go vote. People like you, who speak from a position of privilege and go "Well Biden is only marginally better than Trump" or like daave who thinks 4 more years of Trump would be better can fuck right off.Way to even address or look into how cataclysmic it would be if Dems pass the WHPA and it gets killed by SCOTUS.[Edited on May 3, 2022 at 10:18 PM. 5/3/2022 10:18:20 PM
If this decision goes through, the constitution HAS gone out the window
5/3/2022 10:40:57 PM
Dude, you literally make shit up all the time. "Hey remember all the people on this site who said Biden wasn't really going to increase police funding" and then retracting when called out? Or how about making up polling numbers? Please, stop projecting. You basically said as much on page 2 of this thread about Biden being 'marginally better'[Edited on May 4, 2022 at 7:33 AM. Reason : S]
