I really can't believe that you think Carl shooting Sophia would be a great way to end that episode. that is mind boggling.

This last episode finally captured the weight of their situation.

The previous episodes have almost been trying to convince the audience that almost everyone is an emotional wreck, but the audience cant really believe it because the show hasn't done anything to convince them.

The fracturing of the group, threat of banishment, complicated romantic interaction, weight of leadership, trying not to become 'like Shane', the horror of raising children in their world, and lastly Sophia coming out of that barn. It finally feels like the comics. That they are constantly under attack from all sides. All built up by good but not great episodes.

Great episode.

agreed.

When it strays from the comic book pace of action, and you start bringing in the lifetimesque drama, that is when I get frustrated and start getting pissed and "trip up on the stupid shit" because there is nothing interesting for me to focus on imo. But I know they don't have the budget they need to have yet, so I will try to be patient, or just watch the episodes that everyone on tww says are great.

Finally just watched the last 3 episodes. I guess Shane isn't worried one single bit about any sort of noise discipline? I mean, why have shooting practice down the road at all if you're not worried about the walkers hearing it?

Kinda thought that "geeks" was a tip of the hat to World War Z. Could be wrong, though.

Too bad about Sophia. At least she lives on elsewhere...

My only gripe with the show is the NOISE. Bitch be quiet these shits want to EAT US.

but yes, it really feels it's coming along back to the comics at least in an overall essence. I just hope they have the same mentality with Rick - let's see how far we can push this character before he breaks.

Probably not many other raving nuts toy collectors here on TWW, but I think these are pretty good looking. I might consider buying Daryl.

"Now that we’re many months removed from Frank Darabont’s surprise ouster from The Walking Dead, it’s time to move on. Let’s begin with reading Darabont’s synopsis for how he would have kicked off season two with a Black Hawk Down-style flashback to the war of Atlanta, one that would have told the surprise story of the “tank zombie”—played by Being Human’s Sam Witwer, who only signed on because Darabont had planned this episode from the beginning—and then tied everything into the season premiere in a very inventive way, and which didn’t happen because Darabont was fired."

Why was Lori going in to town again? She told Daryl that he needed to go get Rick or something because that girl went into shock but isn't that the whole reason Rick went into town in the first place? And why wouldn't she look at the map before getting on the road.

the 2nd season has been a cluster fuck story-line wise, so many unrealistic segways into bull shit situations which dictate the ho hum slowly paced stuff that people are tired of..this season has been pretty lame compared to the last, imo

Because the writers are idiots. Nothing really prompted her to go (they went after, and because, the girl was in shock), it came out of nowhere from what I recall. And her goal is to go get them and bring them right back... which is already their own goal - go get Hershel, and come right back. It makes no sense.

It was just a ridiculous way for the writers to create this situation of her being on the side of the road in a wreck and what not.

-- I thought the episode was pretty good other than that part. I liked the last scene, it was good in a lot of ways.

Did anyone catch Talking Dead?

Dave Navarro was on with Walking Dead writer Glen Mazzara and giving him total hell.

He complained that the first half of the season was too slowly paced. He said he would like to see see more zombies and conflict in the final 5 episodes. And my favorite part was when they were talking about Hershel's daughter being in shock...

"Yah, that's exactly what this show needs. A character bed ridden for half a season."

Okay well I'm glad I'm not imagining things and that Lori's reason for laying on the side of the road is actually due to poor writing.

^ Well, actually, think about what changed after Rick left. Yah, the girl's condition didn't change, but...

Lori found out that Shane, who she didn't trust anyways, might have killed Otis. And now every minute that Rick is gone is one minute Shane is in de-facto charge of the camp.

So she isn't panicking and running to get Rick because the girl is STILL in shock. She is panicking and running to get Rick because she SUDDENLY found out a mad man is in charge.

[Edited on February 13, 2012 at 9:00 AM. Reason : PS* I heard this from show writer Mazzara: http://www.amctv.com/shows/talking-dead/video]

Well, they did a terrible job of letting the viewer know that was her motivation. 2 seconds of inane conversation with Dale and then she goes and crashes her car. She sure seemed like the same idiot Lori we've known to me.
