neighborhood and back roads are getting slick near raleigh/rolesville now
1/28/2014 8:31:16 PM
A dusting in Charlotte.
1/28/2014 8:31:30 PM
1/28/2014 8:32:47 PM
Just a dusting, maybe a half-inch so far in Holly Springs. I was under the impression the moisture would be pushing in from the coast, but the maps in motion look like it's essentially just sliding by in the typical SW to NE pattern. Unless there's something that starts pushing moisture in from the coast and shifting things back to the west then it's going to be a big letdown around here.
1/28/2014 8:36:21 PM
I'm skeptical but they did say the heaviest was supposed to be from 9-12 but I fear downtown and west might max at 2" or so
1/28/2014 8:38:40 PM
Biiiiiiig letdown
1/28/2014 8:39:53 PM
this is bullshit
1/28/2014 8:40:31 PM
You people are impatient.
1/28/2014 8:40:45 PM
They said before the heaviest would be at 7Now its 9-12At 12 it will be 1At 1 it will stop snowing<2"
1/28/2014 8:44:52 PM
another dud in a long line of duds
1/28/2014 8:48:01 PM
If you look at WRAL's forecast, the 1-4" line was right on the western border of Wake county. Therefore, a 2" snowfall isn't far off what they said.People see 1-4" and only see 4".3-6" and only see 6"Plus, it isn't over.
1/28/2014 8:48:57 PM
Everybody have fun at work tomorrow womp womp
1/28/2014 8:49:35 PM
Wral guy Nate Johnson is adamant lift is occurring and the heavy stuff in Wake is on the way.Its actually snowing harder in Cary than it has all night.
1/28/2014 8:50:58 PM
you have to look at the street light to even see that it's snowingtiny ass flakesthey said it was going to dumpLIARS
1/28/2014 8:56:58 PM
It's doin what they said it would. People just got too amped up when the POSSIBILITY of a larger snow came about. The models never got a solid grip on this storm but its gonna do about what they said it would at the beginning. From now on, my advice is to not pay attention to people predicting high amounts because they are just trying to grandstand and get attention
1/28/2014 9:01:57 PM
The forecast was 3"-6", we're not talking about outlier models[Edited on January 28, 2014 at 9:07 PM. Reason : .]
1/28/2014 9:07:02 PM
this is fucking bullshit. it's done snowing
1/28/2014 9:09:00 PM
Wake county schools closed tomorrow!
1/28/2014 9:16:53 PM
Well ive 2 inches at my place, and put a bowl out to make snow cream. Its good
1/28/2014 9:17:09 PM
we've pretty much got a huge sheet of ice with sleet on top of it in Pender Co.
1/28/2014 9:18:54 PM
1/28/2014 9:27:43 PM
1/28/2014 9:28:58 PM
3"-6" was a very good forecast for this storm. they are going to be almost right on.if it was all rain, no one would notice that they forecasted 3 tenths and it only rained 4 tenths...
1/28/2014 9:29:03 PM
More like 3-6" of bullshit.
1/28/2014 9:29:45 PM
we're not going to touch 3 in raleigh. snow will be over by 1am
1/28/2014 9:29:54 PM
You can barely see the tops of the grass at our place. Still snowing like a mother fucker. Enough on the road that there are idiots out there pulling a round sled behind an suv going probably more than 20 mph.
1/28/2014 9:31:45 PM
it's not snowing like a motherfucker anywhere in the triangleif you think it is, you've never seen it snow like a motherfucker
1/28/2014 9:33:07 PM
We've got almost 2 inches here on trailwood. 3 isn't out of the question at all
1/28/2014 9:33:12 PM
Settledown. You need to see this. It really is coming down pretty hard. And we are in super north raleigh. Off falls between the 540 exit and wakefield.
1/28/2014 9:34:40 PM
Son of a bitch.I wanna make a joke about penises, but I can't work it out in my head.Plus, you fuckers keep posting about snow.
1/28/2014 9:36:09 PM
the Internet can't handle a slow moving system
1/28/2014 9:39:15 PM
Looks like about 1" on centennial campus
1/28/2014 9:43:32 PM
Well, my snow in union county is about to come to an end. After hearing we would get 3-4 inches as late as 1 or 2 this afternoon...I'm looking at maybe 3/4 of an inch. Bout normal on my luck with snow systems
1/28/2014 9:50:12 PM
Did RTP get any snow?
1/28/2014 10:09:44 PM
2 hours and counting of steady snow in Cary.
1/28/2014 10:12:18 PM
still coming down pretty good here.
1/28/2014 10:12:39 PM
Was something supposed to change the SW to NE track of this storm?
1/28/2014 10:14:22 PM
pretty much an inch of sleet and ice here in Wilmington and still going strong
1/28/2014 10:17:06 PM
Steady small flakes, still coming strong.
1/28/2014 10:23:54 PM
I'm at home dranking that 190% hot cocoa son!Really hoping they have the major roads cleared by tomorrow night when I have to go into work.
1/28/2014 10:24:01 PM
Been snowing really good here in Carrboro for a while now. Took forever and at first it was very small snowflakes, but now it is rolling pretty good. Grass is getting covered (roads and shit have been covered) and its still going strong. Not a motherfucker though, that's for sure. But a nice snow nonetheless. Now just hoping UNC shuts down in the AM or the buses don't run. Not counting on that though!
1/28/2014 10:26:45 PM
30.9 miles between home and work and I have to be there tomorrow!
1/28/2014 10:34:57 PM
Looks like it's all done in Charlotte. Got about a quarter inch, if even that
1/28/2014 10:35:19 PM
where can i find local coverage of this? i don't give a shit about the state of the union, i need to know what roads look like and how much snow RTP got so I can figure out if I'm closing my office tomorrow.
1/28/2014 10:37:37 PM
this is the most I have seen in Wilmington in a long time. Most of it is sleet, so I can't imagine how deep it would be as snow. I was snowed in in New York last week, so I am getting to be spoiled at this point.
1/28/2014 10:38:49 PM
1/28/2014 10:59:46 PM
Ive got 2" maybe a bit more...raleigh zip code but im pretty much in rolesville
1/28/2014 11:04:41 PM
my tracks from 20 minutes ago have already been halfway covered up[Edited on January 28, 2014 at 11:13 PM. Reason : yeah]

Apparently Atlanta pulled a Raleigh 2005. People who left work at 1pm are still trying to get home. Absolute gridlock with people in cars for 9 hours plus so far and stranded:https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151909522650823https://www.facebook.com/groups/397839673695382/http://www.businessinsider.com/atlanta-traffic-jam-pictures-2014-1[Edited on January 28, 2014 at 11:24 PM. My dad is one of those people stuck on the road in ATL. He left at 12:30. Still hours away from home (acworth) based on the traffic, according to him.[Edited on January 28, 2014 at 11:58 PM. Reason : ]
