5/29/2008 3:38:26 PM
5/29/2008 3:40:04 PM
Awesome. Have you been happy with them?
5/29/2008 3:43:46 PM
I wouldn't use and recommend them if I wasn't happy with them.
5/29/2008 3:44:33 PM
Easy turbo, I didn't read your thread.
5/29/2008 3:54:00 PM
Turbo? My thread?
5/29/2008 4:05:12 PM
whats up with Dell, being up 10% after hours
5/29/2008 5:16:13 PM
Earnings came out today and looked pretty decent
5/29/2008 5:22:07 PM
I use Schwab and it's not terrible, not the cheapest but pretty high quality info/research. Unfortunately, by law I am only allowed to trade with 3 brokers[Edited on May 29, 2008 at 6:32 PM. Reason : In reference to Mattxxx's question, I'm not just nattering to myself]
5/29/2008 6:31:27 PM
i'm assuming scottrade is the cheapest though?
5/29/2008 7:45:20 PM
I use scottrade as well. I don't have any complaints, and I'm pretty sure 7$ trades are the cheapest around[Edited on May 29, 2008 at 8:26 PM. Reason : 7]
5/29/2008 8:26:35 PM
Good, I'm not to proud of Ameritrade.
5/29/2008 8:52:25 PM
Well i sold oil yesterday (thank god) and was waffling between mastercard and google. Naturally I chose the one that didnt go up 8% on the day.Fuck.
5/29/2008 11:57:33 PM
not the stock market, but if you can trade FX, USD is looking pretty attractive right now...
5/30/2008 7:09:55 AM
^^ how are yo trading oil? USO or something similar?
5/30/2008 8:19:50 AM
Damn, I wish I had read this thread BEFORE I opened my E*Trade account. The time it takes to transfer money is ridiculous, not to mention, I'm paying $6 extra per trade when the money finally shows up in my account.
5/30/2008 11:43:36 AM
5/30/2008 1:40:35 PM
Well, signed up today and made my first deposit. I'm very happy with the turnaround time (I bank with Wacovia, btw). I went by their office during my lunch break and talked to a guy there, very professional and knowledgable (as far as I could tell). I should've got somebody's name as a referral so you coulda had some free trades.Bought some RIMM, BP, International Rectifier (work w/ em), and Hyundai.[Edited on May 30, 2008 at 2:03 PM. OK I want to open up a roth ira but I want one roth account under my brokerage, and I want the other under a mutual fund company. Reason behind this is so that any trades into the mutual fund are free when done directly. Is there a special account or an easy way to send money back and forth between the two roth accounts and not get hit w/ taxes/penalties for removal? Or do I have to ACAT (account transfer) when I want to move money from the fund to the brokerage roth? Can I just electronically move money from one roth to the other without taking a hit?

Ken Thompson kicked to the curb[Edited on June 2, 2008 at 9:15 AM. Reason : Looks like that American Studies degree from UNC didn't tell him how to run a company.]
6/2/2008 9:11:51 AM
Bleh, rough start.
6/2/2008 10:40:01 AM
Yup...
6/2/2008 11:50:10 AM
Let's change "rough start" to "rough day".I don't have a single stock that is currently up.
6/2/2008 1:32:30 PM
i had a handful that posted gains. pretty much matched the market decline across the portfolio, though.bought some Morningstar (MORN).
6/2/2008 3:00:00 PM
Sheesh slow day. I sold RIMM...it pissed me off. I bought more IRF though, it's done pretty well.
6/2/2008 3:27:50 PM
^^ What was your thinking on MORN? I looked at it and nothing really jumped out at me.
6/2/2008 3:33:18 PM

6/2/2008 4:11:50 PM

6/2/2008 4:13:52 PM
Wtf is Baidu again?
6/2/2008 4:17:22 PM

6/2/2008 4:19:22 PM
That was my impression from their website.
6/2/2008 4:20:39 PM
Half mine were up today, half down. CSCO keeps flirting with my target sell price but everytime it gets close it decides to take a dump .
6/2/2008 4:28:58 PM
First Solar hitting 2 1/2 month lows, long opportunity(?).......Anyone on here trade the shippers: egle, fro, drys, dsx, or nm??????
6/2/2008 4:30:10 PM
hard to tell.if oil rolls over it may take all the energy names for a dip. maybe then is a good time.i'm hoping oil drops below 120 in one of these corrections that last several days -- i can then get long dated calls on some energy names.however, hope is not a viable investment thesis
6/2/2008 6:48:08 PM
6/2/2008 10:52:58 PM
DUG seems like a mistakeshould've bought DCR instead
6/3/2008 11:57:03 AM
I picked up some Garmin (GRMN) yesterday pretty much on blind faith. ^ Do you think it's too late to jump on the DCR bandwagon?
6/3/2008 2:59:52 PM
Damn, MOS took off today.
6/3/2008 3:46:53 PM
^^ not if you do it with the money set aside for risky speculation -- you have to watch it to make sure you don't lose your shirt
6/3/2008 3:59:14 PM
my limit order went through for DCR @ 1.23lets see how this goes
6/3/2008 7:18:01 PM
6/3/2008 8:16:39 PM
Im thinking of getting NVDA, this is my first go at the stock market. What do you guys think?
6/4/2008 4:16:09 AM
First go at the stock market or first go at stocks?
6/4/2008 8:18:39 AM

6/4/2008 10:58:02 AM

6/4/2008 12:37:16 PM
