^^i would wager that the first band would be finishing up.

rarely are they super-punctual at cat's cradle.

invisible hand from virginia at slim's friday with wild wild geese and at schoolkids saturday at 1. band rules. for fans of alien lanes, piper at the gates of dawn and a woofer in tweeter's clothing. nobody on this board (save spencer) ever goes to shows i post on here, but this is probably a good time to change that.

Modest Mouse was pretty good last night. As always Disco Rodeo was hot as fuck and I noticed a bunch of people left before the encore (which turned into chaos as everybody and their mother began to crowd surf). I don't remember everything they played but off the top of my head:

Dramamine
Baby Blue Sedan
Styrofoam Boots
3rd Planet
Tiny City of Ashes
Float On
Wild Pack of Family Dogs
Dashboard
Black Cadillacs
Spitting Venom
Education
Bury Me With It
Satin In A Coffin
The Good Times Are Killing Me

Probably missing 3-5 songs. I didn't care for either opening acts but Isaac wasn't too drunk tonight so he was pretty entertaining.

went to Local506 the other night for Blackgold and Lydia, and was really impressed with Blackgold. also loved 506, good sound, great lighting. it was light enough to see but dark enough to get sexy with a lady during the show.

only downside to 506 is they dont take cards...cash only

That's been the case there for a while I believe....at least the past few shows I've seen there.

Cat's Cradle was the same story last time I went there as well, but it's pushing a year since my last visit.

ariel pink's haunted graffiti & vivian girls @ local 506, sunday april 5th. 10$.

i think it's probably worth it for vivian girls alone. haven't listened to ariel pink much.

there are far more downsides than that. but don't get me started on how shitty 506 is as a venue.

"Durham
Goodbye, Titan
Marvell Entertainment Center—Using twinkling guitars to brighten bleak landscapes and distended builds to offer escape and entry, three relatively new Raleigh bands come to roost above their brooding post-rock in Durham: Goodbye, Titan's cliff-climbing, long-form pieces should sit familiarly with fans of Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky as they rise to peaks only to collapse over them in blazes of glory. A slim quarter configuration and a bent for psychedelic swirls add requisite flair. Bicycle Day makes marching music of sorts, steady rhythms serving as the ballast for the melodies-at-play overhead. Think The Field's insistence aided by Ecstatic Sunshine's interlocking delays. Battle Rockets is the darkest and most outbound act here, eschewing the non-linear development their stage-mates seem to hold so close. Get lost at 9 p.m. for $3-$4. —Grayson Currin"

Cut Copy with Matt & Kim tonight at Cat's Cradle! For anyone that was unable to get a ticket, Titus Adronicus will be playing at the 506. They put on a great show.

Here We Go Magic is opening for Titus Andronicus, and they are good too, kind of a more hypnotic Animal Collective. i kind of hate Cut Copy anyway so that's where i'll be

cut/copy was really good, but the technical difficulties killed the momentum of the show

Yeah that 15 minutes of downtime was pretty rough.

Honestly though, I don't think I get all the hype over these guys. I got a free ticket last minute, so I went...not having listened to but a few of their songs. If they weren't so heavily reliant accompanying tracks they wouldn't have to stop the entire show over some programming issues. Don't get me wrong; it was a fun, dance club type atmosphere with a lot of good energy, but they just didn't do it for me.
