^no, your post was the fucking dumb one. Not only has the 3 people above you made the EXACT same fucking point......but my post was in response to the one above me. It was just speculation that it would be ridiculously stupid for Salty and Andrus to be let go for a 3 month rental, SO we must be going to re-sign him after the year is up. Now, go read the post above mine.....then read mine......and see if that makes since. Damn.....some people on here are only on here to fuck up all the time
7/31/2007 1:27:30 PM
the point he was making is that teixeira isn't eligible for free agency after the season, just arbitration
7/31/2007 1:34:01 PM
the trade is officially done
7/31/2007 2:49:17 PM
also now official...dotel to braves for davies
7/31/2007 2:50:03 PM
source?
7/31/2007 2:52:22 PM
yeah, no source, no belief
7/31/2007 2:54:10 PM
ESPN...just saw it on their deadline day special...one of their guys came on and said..."The dotel for davies deal is now official"this was about a minute or two after the tex deal became official
7/31/2007 2:54:23 PM
the braves webpage is going a little slow...probably updating
7/31/2007 2:55:49 PM
and the reason why the dotel deal couldn't be completed before the tex deal was done is because davies was on the list of 5 minor leaguers that the rangers could have taken if harrison was a no go
7/31/2007 2:57:03 PM
they said Davies was going to be substituted for Harrison in the Rangers deal if he didn't pass the physical but he passed and now Davies can go for Dotel.. that was the holdup in the deal[Edited on July 31, 2007 at 2:57 PM. Reason : ^beat me to it]
7/31/2007 2:57:31 PM
i want info, dammiti want teixeira and dotel in uniform tonight
7/31/2007 3:01:01 PM
tex should be...dotel not until tomorrow
7/31/2007 3:01:48 PM
Yunel Escobar and Jo Jo Reyes for Arroyo is close to done. What are you guys? The Steve Phillips era Mets? Your entire farm system is completely decimated now.. better hope you win THIS year or NEXT because when Chipper is done so is your organization... Oh and Arroyo hasn't even been good the last year +... strange deal.[Edited on July 31, 2007 at 3:06 PM. Reason : x]
7/31/2007 3:05:11 PM
^ shit son, we still have a ton of young players in the majors right now. We had some players that were expendable. Better to get something for them than to let them rot in the minors.
7/31/2007 3:09:08 PM
7/31/2007 3:10:59 PM
if we trade Yunel and Jo Jo for Arroyo i'll be pissed
7/31/2007 3:23:13 PM
^ Yeah, I don't like that at all...
7/31/2007 3:24:28 PM
if we trade yunel i will be pissed...i can do away with jo jo
7/31/2007 3:27:29 PM
if we trade yunel i will be pissed...
7/31/2007 3:30:49 PM
so harrison and beau jones were included in the teixeira trade :\
7/31/2007 5:09:47 PM
mania?
7/31/2007 5:14:33 PM
God I hope the Braves didn't make that trade for Arroyo. I would not trade Escobar for Arroyo straight up much less throw in Jo-Jo Reyes. If true, then the Braves have fucked themselves in the ass with regard to their farm system.
7/31/2007 6:03:23 PM
dammit, tex isn't in the lineup tonight. i guess the last minute details prevented him from making the trip
7/31/2007 6:36:02 PM
Mccann with a solo shot, Julio with a sacrifice fly scoring Frenchy and KY with a 2 run shot.5-1 Braves
7/31/2007 8:45:41 PM
glad tex is already making an impact! [/jk]
7/31/2007 8:54:00 PM
^^Who the hell is KY?
7/31/2007 9:07:28 PM
tex is available to pinch hit tonight...http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070731&content_id=2120952&vkey=news_atl&fext=.jsp&c_id=atlhe was supposed to arrive around 8:30...to make room for mahey, paronto was sent down...now...what do we do about 1st base(after tex)? why have 3 first basemen?
7/31/2007 9:08:20 PM
check out the nickname of UNC, over on the righthttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_North_Carolina_at_Chapel_Hill ]
7/31/2007 9:27:11 PM
KJ with another HR, this time a 3 run shot for 5 RBI so far on the night.
7/31/2007 9:49:59 PM
man that gave me chills to see tex in the dugout, he's gonna be a stud for us
7/31/2007 9:51:39 PM
good god mess, lose already
8/1/2007 12:27:42 AM
Beltran goes on the DL... we'll catch up...
8/1/2007 8:24:09 AM
8/1/2007 10:11:52 AM
Finding out today that the Braves had to include Beau Jones in the Tex deal was a little disheartening. I hate to see the Braves give up any more young arms considering the lack of pitching depth we already have. At least we got something for Ledezma and this Royce Ring guy has nice AAA stats, but I don't know shit about him.I hope that Tex can get off to a good start since you know he'll be pressing some with all the attention on the trade. I'd hate to see him get into a slump because he is feeling the pressure.
8/1/2007 12:01:47 PM
well to answer the logjam at 1b question..
8/1/2007 7:25:48 PM
man that sucks, but i guess its business. franco gave us a good spark
8/1/2007 7:34:55 PM
Teixeira with the first RBI of his career as an Atlanta Brave in the form of a no out bases loaded walk in the first
8/1/2007 7:53:24 PM
7-0 now even Andruw got a hit with an RBI lol
8/1/2007 8:07:06 PM
7 runs on 4 hits and 4 walks. Rodriguez's control was HORRRRIBLE
8/1/2007 8:14:06 PM
Interesting stat I saw on the Braves pregame show. Tex was 4th all time in MLB history with 160 HRs during his first 4 years in the majors...So where does the statue of John Schuerholz go at Turner Field?
8/1/2007 8:17:28 PM
That didnt take long, 3 Run Homer for Tex
8/1/2007 9:36:29 PM
8/1/2007 9:40:40 PM
woo wooooooo
8/1/2007 9:42:45 PM
Still gonna be 4 back And I think we all can agree with "Go Cubbies!"-----Looks like it's going to be Jo Jo Reyes, Carlyle (or who else if he can't go?) and Smoltz for the series at Shea next week... I like that matchup. For us it's going to be Perez, 5th starter (either Brian Lawrence or Philip Humber) and John Maine...[Edited on August 1, 2007 at 10:41 PM. Reason : salty had 2 RBIs tonight...]
8/1/2007 10:41:25 PM
^hm, i see atleast 2 W's with those matchups
8/1/2007 10:42:41 PM
Yeah, and it will probably be the two rookies/scrubs that get the wins before we demolish Smoltz. Mets have had no problems lighting up aces and good pitchers but can't hit scrubs for their lives...
8/1/2007 10:47:06 PM
Since Smoltz returned to starter in 2005, he is 7-4 in 12 starts with 2.68 ERA against the Mets (including his 3 starts so far this season). I'm not guaranteeing you won't "demolish" him, I'm just giving you the numbers....
8/1/2007 11:51:16 PM
8/1/2007 11:55:57 PM
woot.go bravos. it's nice that we are back in a place i can be happy about. last season was tough. you could see the train wreck coming all season and there was no escaping. it just feels like we are up for a breath of air now, and we have a shot at this. i love our GM. he's always been one of the greats, but this shows that he isn't willing to settle for the same shit that other clubs deal with.
8/2/2007 1:37:21 AM
the rangers actually plugged salty in at first. I figured they would put him at catcher. hes a much better catcher. his talents are wasted at first
