I really hated the little speaker on the wiimote 'til I realized I could turn it off. That is pretty much the only gripe I have had with this system, everything else has been incredibly awesome.
11/20/2006 9:26:57 PM
how do you turn it off? does it have a way to adjust the volume? i dont mind it, its just a little loud
11/20/2006 9:35:57 PM
^hit the home screen and there will be 4 sections at the bottom showing you the battery level of each remote. aim for the one you're using and press A, you can adjust from there
11/20/2006 9:42:15 PM
ahha, thanks
11/20/2006 9:42:34 PM
what's the battery life like for the wiimote?
11/20/2006 9:45:35 PM
^30 hours with the pointing function, 60 hours without.

If anybody else is having a problem connecting to the internet with the error codes 32001, 32002, or 32004, try switching your router to channel 1 or 11. Looks like it worked for me (fingers crossed).
11/20/2006 11:06:00 PM
how do you guys get online? cost money? does it have wifi?
11/21/2006 12:01:47 AM

Dude who said you can go back to get chests in the temples:SPOILERI think i need to wait till i get the hookshot to be able to go back, the monkeys that get you across the ropes in the forest temple aren't there after you beat itEND SPOILERspent more time with Zelda today and more time rolling around looking for another controller which no where had... mounted combat in Zelda gets a huge thumbs up
11/21/2006 3:57:38 AM
Has anyone tried the cave of ordeals yet in Zelda?HARD! you can't get to the last level until you have a certain item though...for those who don't know what i'm talking about, it is like the pit in wind waker that had like 40 levels with different enemies in each one
11/21/2006 5:30:54 AM
Thinking of getting a Wii or 360. Anyone have any thoughts. One of the main reasons is to be able to play my brother online.
11/21/2006 6:37:17 AM
^ If you're completely into online (and co-op games), I'd go 360. Honestly, their Live program is top notch. Sure, it costs money, but it's very well implemented. Gears of War (or similar) online and co-op'd is a blast. Yeah, you can do the same on Wii, but folks would find the most multiplayer fun from the Wii being in the same room, so you're actually slinging the Wiimote around together.Bottom line: I want both. But if you can only have one, I'd say that 360 has the most online-friendly games available and currently has the best online software (Live) available.

If anybody else is having a problem connecting to their TV with the error codes 32001, 32002, or 32004, try switching your TV to channel 3 or 4. Looks like it worked for me (fingers crossed).

I want to play Zelda until my eyeballs fall out
11/22/2006 12:36:09 AM
Circuit City has $5 off all Wii accessories. Wiimotes and WiiPoints cards are still available online. Looks like the nunchuks and classic controllers are sold out, but the classic controllers are still available in Fayettenam.
11/22/2006 10:44:39 AM
^and to add to it, spend at least $24 online and get free shipping. Add in the $10 gift card that you may have received by purchasing 2 games to make it even better. I wound up getting 2000 Wii Points and a nunchuk for a little over $22 shipped.
11/22/2006 12:25:39 PM
my favorite wii sports game is bowling... it is addicting... we had some good matches going earlier with me and some buddies
11/22/2006 5:33:26 PM
BTW, Wii Remotes are at the WalMart in Sanford in case anyone's unfortunate to be in the area for the thxgiving (like me).
11/22/2006 5:38:56 PM
North Hills Target has one more classic controller
11/22/2006 5:39:42 PM
Just thought I'd throw this out there...If you only have one controller but want to do some of the sports multiplayer, you can play golf and bowling with as many people as you like multiplayer with just one controller.

hmm....when i turn off my wii and it is on standby, just a yellow light...after a while the blue light around the disc drive starts to glow..is it supposed to do that? weirdedit: I found out it does this when you have a new message, even when the wii is turned off. sweet![Edited on November 22, 2006 at 6:43 PM. 11/22/2006 6:40:49 PM
if anyone's headed north for the holidays, i stopped by the wal mart in leesburg on 15 north and picked up three remotes and nunchuks. they seemed to have plenty.
11/22/2006 7:36:51 PM
^^Yeah it only does that when you have WiiConnect24 enabled. If you have it turned off, then the light will be red while on standby.
11/23/2006 12:12:19 AM
man, i need to buy some rechargeable batteries. my controller is already nearly out.
11/23/2006 12:20:42 AM
I saw they were coming out with a battery pack/ recharger in the future. I know ill be picking that up asap. Went to walmart for rechargable batteries and a 4 pack was $10
11/23/2006 12:26:00 AM

are any stores selling the Wii tomarrow?[Edited on November 23, 2006 at 6:43 PM. Reason : a]
11/23/2006 6:43:34 PM
Here's a question:Do any stores have demo kiosks set up yet?
11/23/2006 7:50:09 PM
^^ Wouldn't surprise me, seems like I heard Nintendo wants to make weekly shipments so probably. I'd call your stores up just to be safe. And yeah, my fam all loves Wii Sports....They aren't giving me a chance to play Zelda
11/23/2006 7:59:51 PM
^^try EB/Gamestop/Babbage's
11/23/2006 8:10:46 PM
convinced my parents to play wii sports last night after dinner - needless to say, they loved it. once dad figured out the whole bowling thing, he was kicking my ass.I picked up a 2 pack of controller gloves from BestBuy today (http://tinyurl.com/ylqzbr) for $15. after one smack against the furniture and some near misses last night, i figured it's a small price to pay for a bit of protection.
11/24/2006 12:08:34 PM
I wouldn't buy skins or gloves for the wii unless it made it look like this:
11/24/2006 12:11:53 PM
Well I got my replacement Wii today. It works great, but I found out I can't transfer save games from another Wii...so I gotta replay about 6 hours of Zelda.
11/24/2006 5:41:23 PM
why can't you transfer the save game to an SD card?
11/24/2006 5:44:41 PM
When you buy the Wii, does the nunchuk come with it? Or is it just the unit and the wiimote?
11/24/2006 6:09:47 PM
you get both.
11/24/2006 6:10:20 PM
awesome.
11/24/2006 6:13:08 PM
^x4 Yeah, that's what I tried. It doesn't work, apparently you can only transfer a saved game to the same console you saved it on, which is kinda stupid.
11/24/2006 7:09:09 PM
I have a gamecube. The primary reason I own a gamecube is because when my siblings come into town, we have "fun" games to play while we get drunk. So let me get this straight.I have to pay $250 for the Wii, not bad. But to have the same "fun" factor, I'll have to drop at least another $90 + tax + $90 if I want numchucks for each of my siblings? Suddenly the Wii got a little expensive, eh?
11/25/2006 12:20:17 AM
60 for a remote and nunchuck49.99 for Wii Play (a collection of about 7 games like Wii Sports, including duck hunt) and it comes with a remote. so if you wait till January when it comes out
11/25/2006 12:22:58 AM
hehe, wheres my wiimote?
11/25/2006 12:31:59 AM
And, not all the games use the nunchuck...and not all games require more than one remote (at least in Wii Sports).
11/25/2006 12:32:25 AM
I'm figuring not to buy the nunchuck for my siblings. so at least $90+tax. Still, not quite a steal.
