John Mozeliak has already made me a believer....Kyle Lohse being dominant through 2 starts? Wow and this guy was not with a team barely before the season started. Our rotation is really pitching well but coming from Wellemeyer, Thompson, and Lohse. Who would have thought?
4/7/2008 2:46:19 AM
wow, i'd just thought about BTTTing this thread earlier
4/7/2008 3:45:47 AM

last night i went to the brewers/mets game, and the folks behind me start talking about teh NLCS game 2 (the one i went to in 06)and i turned around and agreed that it was a crazy game, and i'll just never be able to forget watching beltran strike out looking, and wasn't it So Taguchi who won the game - but never letting them know i'm a cards fani have to consider that IRL trollingALSO - how are we this good this season?
4/12/2008 12:33:21 PM
i seriously thought it wouldn't be til May when we got our 8th win

Not to downplay anything here..... I dunno how good we are just yet. We have beaten the Nats and the Astros, two teams that are way bad. Who knows about the Rockies, yeah they were National League Champs last year but not the best team in the NL IMO.Big picture we won the Series 2 years ago with a team that was arguably not in the top 10 in all of baseball talentwise. But honestly talent only takes you so far. Our best teams with respect to talent either didn't make the World Series or lost big time when they got there. So I'll take a team that scraps and fights and has that "Us vs The World mentality." That mentality wins championships.
4/12/2008 6:53:33 PM
god i love winning games like thati think that (^,^^) kind of stuff has a lot to do with why i was so excited going into the season. the pitching staff especially has that scrappy, us-against-the-world mentality, probably because of youth and inexperience, with the four veteran starters on the dl. add in watching the kids (ankiel, rasmus, etc.) hit the shit out of the ball this spring, and this season has been so much more fun to watch than last year (the winning doesn't hurt either). don't know how long it'll last, but i'm enjoying it while it does

Nice to have no expectations. I don't know half the starters on the roster but hell, if they win who gives a damn.
4/13/2008 10:07:55 AM
Why was Thompson skipped on his start for Piniero who hasn't pitched this year? I know Piniero did well last year but why mess with a rotation doing that well???
4/13/2008 6:27:38 PM
10 wins baby!thank God for Braden Looper
4/15/2008 11:23:50 PM
Nice. Anyone have MLBtv that can watch the games? I was looking into it but I don't have the time to watch at this point. I'm just wondering if its worth the investment.
4/15/2008 11:26:02 PM
Least amount of runs allowed in the Majors with 47....What a turnaround from last year's rotation so far.....and w/o Carpenter or Mulder
4/16/2008 3:06:22 AM
arizona cardinals are gonna kick ass this year
4/16/2008 3:20:37 AM
WASTE of a great performance by Lohse today. 2 RBI at the plate and 7 solid innings on the mound.thanks, bullpen....great time to give up Fielder's 1st homer of the season
4/17/2008 6:06:57 PM
4/17/2008 6:51:34 PM
^^Yeah no shit....how good how has Lohse been?^ That is what they said on FSN the other night when I was watching...
4/17/2008 7:57:00 PM
Fielder hit that bloop fly ball though and it looked like there was some confusion when it was in the air....yet whoever was playing left almost got there. Make that catch we take a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the 8th and the game probably doesnt go to extra innings. Oh well.
4/17/2008 8:08:49 PM
Jason Isringhausen is a piece of shit.
5/2/2008 11:07:46 PM
Yeah he has really imploded this year.....it never is a 1-2-3 inning with Izzy but he usually gets the job done. He was solid for the most part last year.Skippy Schumaker FTW!

A 43-year-old made our team look like high schoolers today.
5/21/2008 1:26:17 AM
Well our team just keeps winning, but so do the Cubs.Unreal how they have kept this going without Carp, now no Pujols or Wainwright.

horrible horrible 8th inningAnkiel slips, then Perez walks 3 straightpitiful
6/22/2008 4:56:45 PM
Other than a few exceptions, our relief corps is what is going to keep us out of the playoffs.
6/22/2008 7:25:13 PM
i could have gone to yesterday's game, but i bought a plasma tv with the money insteadi kinda regret itbut the tv's pretty sweetwatching today's multiple collapses was tough...

Why in the fuck can we not beat the Royals this year? And please trade for Huston Street or Brian Fuentes pronto.
6/27/2008 11:56:44 PM
man, i haven't kept up with MLB worth a damn this seasonwell, i did for the first few weeks...saw the 'birds weren't dominating, and then I got ridiculously busy with work.

FUCK YEAH TROY
7/3/2008 12:25:15 AM

7/3/2008 12:26:06 AM
Ankiel pulls that a little and it's outGlaus was just makin up for it
7/3/2008 12:29:53 AM
Nice to see Glaus picking it up a little bit....if Ludwick could play like he did in May and Duncan hits just a little bit this lineup could be good as long as Albert stays healthy. Sad to see Mulder struggle in a pressure situation....
7/3/2008 1:03:48 AM
cubs win
7/3/2008 1:22:07 AM
Update for July 4th game........................ WOOT
7/5/2008 1:02:38 AM
Wow Mulder needs to just hang it up.....He hasn't even been that good when he is healthy.
7/9/2008 11:31:31 PM
Hey, on the bright side, Haren hasn't done anything since the trade..
7/9/2008 11:34:29 PM
Yeah I actually was pissed at the time of the trade because Haren was already showing signs of being really good. They are going to have to make a move or two to keep pace with the Cubs/Brewers....but things do look good towards the wildcard right now.
7/10/2008 12:28:18 AM
So...I'm driving XC next week and thinking about catching a 'birds game against the Brewers.
7/15/2008 3:39:50 AM
do it
7/17/2008 9:05:31 AM
