^^Partially. I don't know FroshKiller personally, so I cannot attest to any of the personal aspects you mentioned, but I generally agree with his first post in this thread. I see nothing wrong with pondering existence. It is natural. However, I find it pretty arrogant to think that someone, especially a college student, is going to come up with an idea so revolutionary that it ends religious debates. Logic only gets you so far. Eventually, one of two things must happen:

1. Someone will believe / have faith in something that cannot be proven.

OR

2. They will eventually have to give up and settle for an incomplete view (that is, one that is at least partially based on speculation, which becomes remarkably similar to the first case).

Also, you mentioned cars, the internet, and television. I see these more as distractions from actual thought. Our society is raising a bunch of fat, lazy children generally incapable of original and creative thought. (There are exceptions, of course.)

A lot of people on message boards like to insult others to boost their own low self esteem, but they can't insult people face to face because they don't have the balls, so they do it on the Internet where they can be anonymous.
