they're destroyed the brickyard's green part to build a new building by the way'Integrated Sciences' buildinggonna be under construction till 2026 or 2027, I don't recall

The natural evolution of greenery to brick continues

Harrelson II will rise!
8/28/2023 9:36:59 AM
^^Unfortunately, I don't think it is brick. From the picture I saw on the side of the fences, it looks like some glass building, like SAS hall. I hope this isn't something they're looking to do when renovating other buildings
8/28/2023 11:29:55 AM
anyone know why the buildings on north campus use V instead of U in the engravings on the buildingslike:ANIMAL HVSBANDRYmarko has gotta come through
8/30/2023 4:09:19 PM
Because that's the way it was in Latin, and North Campus is older and more classical.
8/30/2023 4:12:28 PM
Interesting, I didn't know about thatthank you

I'm gonna try finding some 3d shape software type thing, or maybe just sketch out what I think a cool IS building would've beenthrough a lens devoid of engineering of course lolperhaps a pyramid! pyramid with a huge cylinder jutting out the middle?--thanks for listing all these links though -- super cool

Is this the TWW CrazyJ?found behind Clark dining hall
9/3/2023 3:30:20 AM
Dang, it might be! Clark was built sometime around 2001, so he probably was still on campus around then.
9/4/2023 4:28:54 PM
question---what were your favorite spots/haunts on campus? could be offbeat or popular or whatever[Edited on September 7, 2023 at 11:46 AM. Reason : --]

Nighthawk, GrumpyGOP, OmarBadu.I'm fairly certain that this is the ladder going down from the brickyard entrance to the tunnels:I found another one like this but that was sealed in some way.as to getting down there? a crowbar I guess. but doing it in the middle of attraction with cameras on construction doesn't seem like the smartest move lolAny other references I've seen seem to be gone or shut off. But maybe some more attention is deserved...[Edited on September 7, 2023 at 7:07 PM. Reason : -]

...in some respects. But everything else that got rammed through will be detrimental to North Carolina's primary and secondary education, as well as negatively impacting potential recruitment/future talent from a societal point of view.
9/26/2023 10:16:52 AM
Yeah, I would've loved to see that kind of money go into public schools
9/26/2023 10:43:15 AM
I don't know how it works but imagine if the school's architecture department was expanded and given the responsibility of designing new university buildings, with students getting to work on it alongsideprolly not practical, but imagine how cool that'd be
9/26/2023 10:25:53 PM
Yeah having students work on designing new buildings seems like the opposite of practical

if you shoot that from the other side, you can totally make DT dunk on the Talley Tower "basket"I was trying to get a good pic of it... but the REAL DT was standing there doing a video interview and Tommy Burleson started yelling at me cause I was standing in his way (the irony is not lost on our height difference... he was sitting down) so I stopped trying to shoot it

I came across this picture of Hillsborough Street from 1983. Whenever I see something from the past, I go down this rabbit hole on the internet of how things are more safe and coddled now. of course... one still finds a way regardless, but still. Course, might just be rose tinted glasses, or rather... a rose tinted imagination. Apparently, a lot behind this are those "luxury" student and apartment complexes that opened up. Might be reality, or might have a lot to do with the internet effect, but whenever I read about stuff online, the narrative seems to be that it's all getting more and more commercial and more "fake". Like, I read this article below (thanks, Technician), and saw this quote:

3/8/2024 7:30:21 PM
Which one?
3/8/2024 7:38:35 PM
The big one i forget name. Perhaps hillsborough st text books? If they still exist there idk
3/8/2024 7:43:17 PM
The one with the goddamn movie theater facade. And yeah i doubt they exist now.
3/8/2024 8:18:37 PM
What is it now? I think i went there like twice, seemed like the worst.
3/8/2024 8:21:15 PM

I might not be using the term exactly right, but you'll see what I mean.source 1 - First freshman class at North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts in 1889source 2 - the 1925-26 basketball teamI'm a bit too lazy to go on right now.
