yeah, i wouldn't be a big fan of that move from a non-football standpoint. trade deadline is november 2nd so if he's going anywhere this season (whether or not he even plays), it will be in the next week or so.
10/24/2021 11:02:00 PM
Plus the Texans want an absolutely astronomical amount of draft capital for him... no thanks
10/25/2021 8:07:00 AM
I don’t get it. Why pay a premium for a QB that may not even be eligible to play (NFL hasn’t ruled but Texans haven’t played him, so NFL hasn’t really been forced to rule) and has like 2 dozen pending sexual assault allegations? It’s not like the Panthers are close to making a legit push to be a contender. May be able to sneak into the playoffs with a better QB but why swing for the fences (and piss off tons of fans) if he doesn’t even make us a legit contender?
10/25/2021 9:11:36 AM
I don't get the Watson discussions, but if they do I am done with this franchise until the coaching staff and GM are gone.
10/25/2021 11:39:36 AM
Basically all we have is one first round pick next year (no second or third currently), so we'd give that up (and the next few years) and still not have an OL.. Doesn't seem like a good way to be good. Plus, ya know, all the sexual assault
10/25/2021 4:02:01 PM
Yeah IMO the main problems with Darnold are all related to a lack of an oline and not *totally* on him -- partially, sure, hell even some mostly on him. But use that 1st for whatever the top 5-10 (at this rate) prospect is and see what we can do
10/25/2021 5:12:59 PM
The main problem with darnold is he is bad
10/25/2021 5:50:50 PM
Fair enough, but a good o line would solve a lot of his bad issues. His biggest problem is panicking under pressure
10/25/2021 9:10:00 PM
It doesn't matter how good the ol is, an NFL qb is always under pressure. Darnold just isn't it.

Bad OL, CMC hurt, defense that looked awesome now has some injuries and has looked much more average lately. How does adding Watson make this team much better than, say, the 2020 Texans? Same thing with the Dolphins interest in Watson. The Dolphins need way more than just a QB to be much better.
10/26/2021 7:13:57 AM
Crazy to me that in basketball it’s an automatic injury TO for a bloody player so he can get treatment. And in football the Qb can slather blood all over the football and there’s no stoppage.
10/31/2021 2:14:56 PM
i hate it in any sport when somebody gets potentially really hurt, and their teammates just pick him up off the ground immediately
10/31/2021 3:24:54 PM
welcome back, Shaq Thompson
10/31/2021 3:53:17 PM
Always fun to beat the Falcons.
10/31/2021 4:01:35 PM
I was also surprised they didn't do more about Matt Ryan bleeding out on the field. Also, mad about the lack of clock stoppage after the Fail-cons player ran the incomplete pass all the way back down the field. If that's not against the rules it should be cause it took like 15 seconds off the play clock for us.
10/31/2021 6:30:09 PM
any attempt at a horrible pun gets all of the come on, man
10/31/2021 7:33:04 PM
I can't blame you, it's a bad one
11/1/2021 8:30:49 AM
Panthers suck. Darnold sucks. And fuck Mac Jones. If a defender does this to a QB it’s easily a penalty and a hefty fine. Maybe an ejection too. https://twitter.com/panthersbill/status/1457417572433940492?s=21
11/7/2021 2:19:13 PM
Are we sure Joe Brady is actually good?I’m cool with firing everybody and starting over.
11/7/2021 3:04:48 PM
it's a shame that Deshaun Watson is such a POS human. Darnold ain't it.the defense has a good young core, but the other side of the ball needs work[Edited on November 7, 2021 at 3:52 PM. Reason : .]
11/7/2021 3:46:07 PM
Just need to cut the entire offensive line and qb rooms. Seems like a pretty easy fix
11/7/2021 9:02:01 PM
11/8/2021 7:36:36 AM
Red zone offense has been a major weakness since Brady/Ruhle have been here. To me, that’s 100% on the staff. Players get hurt or don’t execute or whatever. But consistent issues like that are on coaching.
11/8/2021 7:45:28 AM
lol, we're (pending a physical) signing Matt Barkley from the Titans practice squad. From one Southern Cal bust to the next...
11/9/2021 6:04:16 PM
hahahaWe should have went after Flacco before the Jets did.
11/9/2021 6:54:37 PM
I literally had to look up who Barkley was, had totally forgotten the dude existed
11/9/2021 11:13:56 PM
^^lol at thinking signing joe flacco is any better.
11/10/2021 12:44:02 AM
better for winning or better for tanking? thinkaboutit.gifthe crazy thing is we're only a half game out of the wildcard (though the 2nd half of our schedule is tough). the NFC is like 5 really good teams, and a few terrible teams, and a bunch of teams near .500
11/10/2021 12:45:35 AM
don’t think there’s a player that’s worth tanking for
11/10/2021 12:49:09 AM
Yeah I don’t think this year is the year to tank for a specific player (especially QB)
11/10/2021 6:13:31 AM
^^ there is not a offensive weapon worth tanking for. Jordan Davis however could be a game wrecker on defense.
11/10/2021 8:09:04 AM
Our defense is already really strong. I'd rather take whatever the best o line is no matter what
11/10/2021 8:36:05 AM
Been needing to revamp the OL for…the last 5 years?
11/10/2021 9:04:18 AM
I am all for an O-Line pick as its a serious need. However, if you are tanking it would be for Jordan Davis or an offensive weapon. Brian Burns is probably going to get fined more than Mac Jones for his comments yesterday, but if the NFL really wants to protect Mac Jones they will fine him the max under the CBA for that type of play. If they don't fine him some Defensive player is going to light him up especially on a turnover.
11/11/2021 7:58:39 AM
Oh yeah Jordan Davis is a monster. Thibodeaux from Oregon is also a freak. But Thibs I’m assuming is like a top 5 pick. We won’t be picking that high. Just saw a mock with Davis falling all the way to 29. Why would that be? I figured he was top 10Mostly, please don’t somehow end up with Sam Howell please[Edited on November 11, 2021 at 8:06 AM. Panthers are reportedly meeting with Cam today
11/11/2021 10:14:58 AM
looks like our “Bring Back Cam” chant from the game on Sunday may have worked
11/11/2021 10:46:03 AM
1) this would be super cool and I’m all for it2) Cam isn’t really the answer. We aren’t a playoff team. I don’t think Cam, at this point, makes us a playoff team. But whatever. It’ll be fun I guess.
11/11/2021 11:22:55 AM
looks like it’s all but a done dealsometimes a little chaos can be a good thing
11/11/2021 11:53:32 AM
With Cam this team is a million times more interesting than without him. If you’re gonna suck, at least be entertaining or interesting. And this would seem to (attempt to) accomplish that
11/11/2021 11:56:12 AM
it’s officialfirst home game back will be against the Fightin’ Riverboat RonsI’ll be there
11/11/2021 12:18:42 PM
we're like a half game out of the playoffs fyi, so who knows. 9-8 might get you the #7 seed this year.
11/11/2021 12:21:59 PM
BRING BACK RON NEXT
11/11/2021 12:22:07 PM
^^ yeah 9-8 probably would. I guess I just look at how bad we’ve been the last few games and I just can’t see us getting to 9 wins. But CMC and a halfway competent QB might just get us there
11/11/2021 12:42:08 PM
1 year, $4.5M guaranteed with up to $10M total including incentives
11/11/2021 1:05:29 PM
That's... richer than I expected. Not bad, but more than I was hoping for. I guess he has all the leverage
11/11/2021 1:18:58 PM
I mean it's better than what they're paying darnold
