^ so how do you know that's what it was? from the symptoms? what happened? i mean, you didn't isolate/quarantine, right? so you ended up spreading it to others i guess?were the symptoms really bad? any long-covid effects? hope you fully recovered.

^ This was right around Xmas of 2019, and based on some studies, apparently COVID was present in CA/the Bay Area as early as that November, so it seems likely it was.I remember when it came on-- felt like a horrible case of the flu and I immediately had aches/chills and could not stop shaking/shivering. I had a fever that got as high as of 103.1 that night, so I took Aleve hoping it was just some stomach bug/food poisoning, but then I developed a crazy non-stop, non-productive cough where I literally couldn't catch my breath, so I went to the ER the next morning. They did influenza A/B tests (both were negative) and gave me a breathing treatment (I had asthma as I kid that I had thought I outgrew), and they sent me on my way, with a script for a rescue inhaler/albuterol and told me to come back if I wasn't better in a day or two.The fever came back that night and the coughing just would not stop. This wasn't a bronchitis type cough where you're hacking up green/yellow shit-- it was clear fluid and despite hitting the inhaler like a crack pipe every few minutes, I thought I was having a full blown adult asthma attack that was turning into pneumonia. I could literally hear my lungs crackling and I was wheezing out of control Anyway, I went back and they took chest X-rays and gave me a Zpak and prednisone, along with another breathing treatment, which only helped for like 30 mins. They tested for pneumonia and that came back negative too, but they officially diagnosed me with some form of bronchitis and told me to rest/sleep. IDK remember the exact timeline, but I was bed ridden for the next few days and then I guess the steroids/Zpak helped my body recover and the fever stopped and the cough started to fade. I think it was maybe a week total? By NYE, I was feeling like I could function again, but I had a nagging, unproductive cough that lasted a while after. How my spouse didn't get sick remains a total mystery.I did the antibody test in April (?) of 2020 and it came back inconclusive at first, which was weird, and then negative.I've probably had a dozen or so COVID PCR tests since and all came back negative.IDK if it was actually COVID or not, but the fever/cough/mindfuck/etc all made me the feel like I could have died.Either way, happy to have my second Pfizer dose which has been a breeze compared to dose 1.

Got my second shot today[Edited on March 31, 2021 at 12:31 AM. Reason : arm much more sore than the first shot]
3/31/2021 12:29:44 AM
^^Nice write-up. Sorry for your struggles. Sounds terrible. Glad you made it!
3/31/2021 4:34:18 AM
Getting my second shot today. Moderna. Wife got hers last friday and was down for most friday and saturday. will report back.
3/31/2021 8:16:30 AM
I get my second Pfizer shot next Wednesday. Question for all you. Let's say two months from now if I want to get the JJ shot, assuming we reach scale for all of those who want a shot can get one, should that boost my immune response against Covid since it is a different tech than the Moderna/Pfizer shots? For anyone wondering why I would do this. Basically any basic respiratory infection or sickness crushes me. I don't have an official underlying condition but knowing this about myself makes me really afraid of Covid and I'd like to double down on protection since I know there is always a chance a vaccine series fails.
3/31/2021 12:56:18 PM
^The logic behind that doesn't make a ton of sense to me. The second Pfizer dose is what's supposed to boost your immune response close to 100%. The JJ is less effective than either Moderna/Pfizer so why get a "booster" of a less effective vaccine that doesn't work the same way as the other two to begin with? Are you worried about the new variants? I think if you feel like shit after dose 2 of Pfizer you'll be good to go
3/31/2021 6:27:31 PM
I get my second shot on Wednesday of next week, so the JJ consideration would follow my second shot of Pfizer, with the assumption being taking a second type of vaccine, following both shots of Pfizer would help my immune system more since it’s not mRNA based.
3/31/2021 7:14:55 PM
I think that there's a study that suggests that the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is more effective against the Brazilian variant than the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are, although that finding may just be an anomaly. With that being said, I received my first Moderna shot today.[Edited on March 31, 2021 at 10:41 PM. I received my first shot of Moderna yesterday. I feel like someone kicked me in the arm.
4/1/2021 1:07:41 PM
2nd pfizer shot today. Hope it doesn't kick my ass like it has others. Did fine with 1st shot.

4/1/2021 1:55:00 PM
Just got my second Moderna shot. No problems so far, but it's only been one hour.
4/1/2021 3:03:37 PM
Got my 2nd Moderna yesterday around 12. Fine during the day with arm soreness starting around 3pm. By 6 pm was extremely tired, headache, and joint pain. Arm soreness continued throughout the night until took 2 Tylenol for fever. I broke my fever around 3 am. Sweating so bad pillow was soaked and the sheets were moist TMI! Woke up around 8 am to clear my head and continued forearm pain. no other symptoms. Today has been great!
4/1/2021 3:48:47 PM
second Pfizer dose yesterday afternoon. no side effects other than a sore arm.
4/2/2021 9:05:56 AM
Oh I forgot to post up. I got my first shot of the Pfizer vaccine on March 22. Second shot's April 12. I didn't feel sore or anything.
4/2/2021 9:15:37 AM
My wife and I got our second Moderna shot yesterday afternoon. Today we are experiencing body aches, chills and a slight fever(and soreness at injection site)...not too bad at all to be honest.[Edited on April 2, 2021 at 9:57 AM. Reason : .]
4/2/2021 9:57:06 AM
Second Moderna dose Wednesday. ^ Same. Woke up with chills and sore all over.
4/2/2021 9:59:40 AM
Booked the fist dose next Monday. Good luck to myself.
4/2/2021 10:28:41 AM
Got mine on the 25th. My girl works at CVS and hooked it up. Ready to get this second one and drink some spit!
4/2/2021 10:35:12 AM
feeling more side effects today than I did yesterday low grade fever and slight nausea
4/3/2021 2:05:36 PM
I got my second dose of Pfizer yesterday morning. Feel OK. I am immune!
4/3/2021 2:22:09 PM
I'm not even eligible until April 15.
4/3/2021 3:10:09 PM
I never really had any ill effects from either dose of the Pfizer vaccine, except the expected 2-3 day arm soreness.[Edited on April 4, 2021 at 10:49 AM. Reason : What does it all mean?!]
4/4/2021 10:49:08 AM
Got my first dose March 25 and scheduled for my second on April 15. I'm lucky that Georgia opened it up to everyone starting 3/25.
4/4/2021 11:56:45 AM
Moved up my second dose and got it yesterday at 4PM. So I'm about 24 hours and my biggest issue is that I've felt a little high for hours at a time, on and off. As in my thinking is fuzzy and it was really hard for me to get out of bed today. I'm also feeling some slight soreness but not too much. The soreness is limited to the areas where I normally feel soreness first thing in the morning [old], such as my achilles, knees, and elbows. My wife was down for the count until about hour 30. I'm hoping I can skate by, but am a little concerned since @thegoodlife3 said he felt ill 48 hours later, rather than 24.
4/4/2021 2:39:48 PM
Lymph node under the injected arm is swollen, so the arm is tender to move. That arm is also currently sore from the shoulder to the elbow, but no fever or anything else of that sort. I'm about 40 hours in, so I assume I've experienced what I'm going to experience at this point. Note: That first day and night I drank a shit ton of water. They said it helps and while I normally don't buy the hydrate after a massage or drink tons of water everyday commentary, I didn't want to risk it here. I also took extra strength Aleve and Tylenol about 6 hours afterward before bed that first night and then once again the following day. Nothing today.

I am genuinely scared. I am going to wait for as long as I can, until more safety data comes out for the different vaccines -- I have access to Sinovac, Oxford, and Pfizer.https://www.bbc.com/news/health-56620646Covid-19: Seven UK blood clot deaths after Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine
4/5/2021 12:41:07 PM
But fewer than Covid deaths out of the same population, right?
4/5/2021 2:55:31 PM
Do you folks realize how hard it is to prove that something is happening at a 1 in 100,000 frequency versus a 1 in 1,000,000?
4/5/2021 4:05:18 PM
No, but I assume it's pretty hard.
4/5/2021 6:07:11 PM
All adults in North Carolina can get the vaccine as of April 7th
4/5/2021 6:09:16 PM
And they probably will.
4/5/2021 6:13:38 PM
Got my son signed up for the shot on Wednesday.
4/5/2021 7:54:16 PM
I almost have no side-effect except a little soreness in the arm in the first 10 mins after receiving it and an extra one hour of sleep. 2nd dose in three weeks.
4/6/2021 9:10:48 AM
2nd dose of Moderna yesterday. very sore arm this morning (same with the 1st shot). no really side effects...felt uncharacteristically tired early in the evening last night and then slept poorly. probably unrelated to the vaccine idk.
4/7/2021 6:36:30 AM
I was incredibly tired afterward. Struggled to pull myself out of bed the next day type tired.
4/7/2021 4:18:58 PM
I think I have the 2nd vaccine shot every day then
4/7/2021 4:21:56 PM
First one last week. Arm was sore for a day or two. 3 more weeks until number 2.
4/7/2021 4:41:58 PM
I'm proud of the remnants of TWW for generally not being anti-vaxxers.We survived!
4/7/2021 5:43:31 PM
^^^^ yeah after initially thinking I was tired from poor sleep and a busy work schedule...I’m now thinking it’s from the vaccine. I’m achy and very tired. Which is pretty unusual for me. But it’s all worth it.
4/7/2021 6:49:00 PM
17 year old son took it like a champ today. We shall see how he's doing in the morning but so far so good!
4/7/2021 8:19:14 PM
4/7/2021 11:10:01 PM
Got my first dose today. I'm very, very tired, but that's because I woke up at 4:30 in the morning to work at the vaccine clinic and not because of the shot. I'm doing a 30 day deployment to help with the process and it is exhausting.
4/7/2021 11:14:40 PM
I'm gonna start calling them Obama Shots.Thank God for these Obama Shots.
