I'm really bummed for those of you who thought it was cool to be the first one to declare a loss. Sorry your prediction was wrong, but everybody thinks you're cool for being edgy.

This game is like the most anti NC State shit I've ever witnessed.

Never a doubt!

The Coach Carter gameplan worked to perfection

Awesome win. This team is so tough mentally. So many other Pack teams would’ve folded early. But we didn’t. Markell is a golden god. Daniels had the huge block. Walker was great on the boards. Braxton, for as much shit as I gave him early on, hit some big shots. That was fun

I'm literally speechless watching a Wolfpack team close out games like this. That coupled with actually winning the games were supposed to win. It's been a long time coming

Our depth just wore 'em out, and the had no answer for Markell once he got it going. Larranaga is a hellvua coach though, he schooled us tactically. Identified all our weaknesses and just hammered them relentlessly.
1/3/2019 9:16:06 PM
^yoy mean once he actually got a chance to play, Markell barely had any minutes in the first half
1/3/2019 9:17:04 PM
Markell solved the lykes problem
1/3/2019 9:19:15 PM
I said this after the Auburn game, but we're now that team that can outlast everyone else on the floor. I'm reminded of all those UNC and Duke games in the Sydney Lowe era when we would keep it close until the last 4 or 5 minutes and then fall apart. We're seemingly on the other side of that now.Excited to see what we can actually do against UNC and Duke now.
1/3/2019 9:22:33 PM
Markell didn’t start, I’m assuming that’s a discipline issue. He then had a couple bad turnovers and 2 quick fouls. I disagree with benching him the rest of the half, but Keatts has made it clear that effort and energy need to be there or it’s next man up. And right or wrong Markell sat. Also separately. I’m so glad I don’t have to hear the bullshit “see? Once we get ranked we lose, we’re better unranked” bullshit for at least another week
1/3/2019 9:24:41 PM
Great win.Hopefully Markell figures out whatever he needs to figure out. Can't win many with half of him.
1/3/2019 9:25:59 PM
One thing I learned today Miami is a very disciplined team and rarely fouls 14 total fouls in the game, three of them in garbage time.
1/3/2019 9:26:58 PM
way to battle back. their shooting definitely fell off later in the game, it had to be due to being worn down. we did a good job on the offensive glass too.glad that dorn showed up late in this game. Markell is a golden god.
1/3/2019 9:38:20 PM
Officiating lately...oof
1/3/2019 9:46:42 PM
Wow. I turned it off at 64-74. Surprised to see we pulled it out.

It was an ugly game but like others are saying we normally lose a game like that when we got down 10 in the 2nd half. Way too man turnovers again, especially Beverly had some headscratchers. Hope whatever point Keatts is trying to prove to Markell it gets through soon because we are a different team when he is on the court.

My takeaways after having some time to sober up reflect:- A road win is a road win but this was especially tough being the first ACC game for multiple players and with the expectations of being ranked and favored on the road. - Miami was shooting very well and posted career highs- We adjusted at halftime - Miami was gassed by the end of the second half / we were better conditioned - We played nine guys with Harris out sick- We didn't melt down or give up like Gottfried teams would have- Markell only played 23 minutes and still scored 20 points- We had four guys in double-digit scoring, a fifth with 9, and two guys one point/rebound away from a double-double- Outrebounded them - We did all this despite early/questionable foul trouble and them being in bonus/double bonus like 8 minutes a half - Need to improve on turnovers and figure out whatever is going on with Markell (discipline/intensity?) so he's getting the majority of minutes at the 1 (I like Beverly and he's good to spell Markell but he's more effective at the 2)- Need to work on shot selection and staying calm / not forcing things. We had way too many errors in the first half trying to play hero ball after they had a little run or we got a couple of dumb fouls called. - Need to help when we get doubled up in zone like they did to us all night- Need out bigs to choose their fouls more wisely, especially Funderburk. I'm sure he'll get better. - Devon Daniels isn't quite there with knowing when to drive/pass but is improving. /words[Edited on January 4, 2019 at 10:27 AM. Reason : .]

I really hate to be that guy, we played with grit in the end, but...Miami's shitty FT% helped a lot.
1/4/2019 11:43:23 PM
One thing I didn't realize is that Markell was in foul trouble in the first half. I thought his limited minutes were related to effort.
1/4/2019 11:52:33 PM
^^they shot extremely well from 3 on shots that weren't exactly wide open, so not too bothered about thatmy bigger concern when it comes to things that might come back to bite us is that ever since the auburn game our offense has turned the ball over like a sidney lowe team
1/5/2019 1:42:30 PM
^ Excessive dribbling from guys who are not proficient dribblers like Dorn and Daniels. I also been seeing a lot of unforced errors, perhaps from miscommunication and playing at an uptempo.
1/5/2019 2:29:38 PM
^eh, markell and beverly had 8 of the 16 turnovers against miami. Dorn and daniels have turned it over less than those two the last 3 games. Its a team thing...everyone is turning it over. But yes, need to reign that shit in
1/5/2019 8:14:35 PM
I was there with 7 of my family members, mostly from my wife’s side and they all wore some of my State shirts and were rooting for the Pack. We made a lot of noise to help with the free throw defense. There was actually a good many State fans that came to the game. I was impressed.BTW where is the UNC game thread?[Edited on January 5, 2019 at 8:24 PM. Reason : ]
1/5/2019 8:24:06 PM
It hasn't been made yet. The game isn't until Tuesday.
1/5/2019 8:42:20 PM
^^^yeah Bev had a few during Miami’s big run to end the half. He was really struggling with the pressure. That’s where Harris’s speed and length would’ve hopefully come in handy
1/5/2019 9:31:15 PM
I need to look at the stats, I was just going off of memory. I'm ok with Dorn driving, he's a good slasher, but when he holds onto the ball and dribble too much I get nervous. Same with Daniels.
1/5/2019 9:49:37 PM
Definitely agree about Daniels. Don’t know that i specifically remember many from him in this game (just the late one he followed up with the huge block) but in general his handles kinda need work.

1/6/2019 1:05:47 AM
I wonder how closely we will be ranked with UNC
1/6/2019 8:34:39 AM
It’s 18/15 now, right? Both teams had road conference wins this week. Kentucky (13) and OSU (14) both lost yesterday. Marquette (16) lost Tuesday. So there’s a good chance we move up a few spots. I’d guess we each move up to something like 15 for us and 11 or 12 for them.
1/6/2019 9:11:09 AM
Well, there were still people who didn't vote for us at all last week so I am not as confident as you.
1/6/2019 12:28:53 PM
Oh I can totally see some voters not dropping Kentucky because “winning on the road is hard” while not bumping us up for...winning on the road. Voters use dumb rationale to convince themselves of what they already believe
1/6/2019 1:48:04 PM
Given it's UNC, they will likely go top 10.Meanwhile we only move up one
1/6/2019 2:15:21 PM
