12/31/2018 10:32:31 PM
At least we didn't hire Mack Brown.
12/31/2018 10:33:36 PM
Cotchery?
12/31/2018 10:36:35 PM
Wow. What a Fuck You summary of Finley's career.
12/31/2018 10:37:18 PM

Well, for one, Pratt wasn't completely healthy.
12/31/2018 10:44:10 PM
Because they don't get paid and they don't owe you shit
12/31/2018 10:48:30 PM
I'd have no problem if they sat out after like, wake.. Before that we could maybe have still played in a relevant game
12/31/2018 10:49:56 PM
it's not like he's sitting out the ACC championship or anything importantno players will ever just choose to sit out a CFP game, just the bowl games that don't really mean much[Edited on December 31, 2018 at 10:58 PM. Reason : .]
12/31/2018 10:57:29 PM
12/31/2018 11:01:59 PM
Not playing the bowl game is disrespectful to the troops
12/31/2018 11:15:55 PM
We need player to play in bowl games so we can have good soldiers, they are who make America strong
12/31/2018 11:28:18 PM
I dont begrudge a player looking after his financial future, but the NCAA is probably going to end up cracking down on players sitting out bowl games. Players sitting out is an explicit signal to fans that these lucrative games don't matter. If fans are getting that signal, they'll begin to stop supporting the bowls, and the NCAA and its media partners will lose a stupid amount of money.Where it's going to really hurt is the top-tier, non-CFP bowls. The teams in those games have significant levels of NFL talent, and you could run into a situation where the Rose Bowl is a battle of the 2nd and 3rd stringers of top 10 teams. Who is gonna get excited over that?
12/31/2018 11:30:05 PM
Also, it was nice to see our 1st stringers get curb-stomped by an SEC team's 3rd stringers.
12/31/2018 11:31:28 PM
What a perfect end to finleys overrated career

^^^^what the hell do you think they’ll do? These guys have one future and it has nothing to do with the ncaa[Edited on December 31, 2018 at 11:48 PM. Reason : ^]
12/31/2018 11:48:24 PM
I don't see what the ncaa could do to somebody leaving in a few months.. I'm sure they'll try because they act like a bunch of old curmudgeons
12/31/2018 11:49:21 PM
I'm not sure who got slayed harder. Sauron or Finley's NFL draft stock. Hooooo

What about Texas A&M? They have at least double the fan support we do, and the two sides looked about the same to me in terms of number of fans.
1/1/2019 1:58:58 PM
Do Texas a&m fans constantly harp about how great their fans are and that they should get better bowls because they travel so well?
1/1/2019 2:26:53 PM
Atleast we arent so "proud" of our own fanbase we gave ourselves a nickname thats plastered on the stadium
1/1/2019 2:50:15 PM
Justin derives pleasure out of the weirdest shit.
1/1/2019 3:06:22 PM
our fanbase, especially the traveling fanbase, probably holds an undeserved reputation for being pretty good when its kind of mediocrebut our bigger problem is that we just spark very little national interest outside of the fanbase. our bowls tend to get lower ratings (relative) and no one wants to watch one of our games. the only thing we really had for a bit there was the Thursday night affairs against FSU, but they kinda suck now and doeren has us as this weird exaggerated version of wisconsin where we get smacked down every time we play someone good and just rack up wins against nobodies
1/1/2019 3:12:03 PM
Our fans suck. The student sections at home football games NEVER fill up and are 3/4 empty in the 2nd half of every game, no matter the opponent. Paid fans are no better, because they won't give up their beloved pass outs and that halftime beer that they can't live without. We can't even sell out a non conference basketball game against a top 10 opponent. We are actually fairly good at both revenue sports now and fans are for the most part indifferent. And yet all you see online are how many State fans think they are the best fans in the nation. It's ridiculous and it drives me fucking nuts.[Edited on January 1, 2019 at 3:24 PM. Reason : None of this is pleasurable for me.]

1/1/2019 4:06:42 PM
well we still have fans, which not every school can say, but yeah it turns out when you have a long dull period where none of the teams are very good you lose a whole generation of fanskeatts hopefully is starting to change that
1/1/2019 5:04:19 PM
Our fans have gotten worse in the last 10 years. Especially in football. And our football team hasn't ever been good and the last two years have been as good as they have been in a long time.[Edited on January 1, 2019 at 5:16 PM. Reason : But our fans are dumb and like to hate coaches (and their teams) that don't have an in your face attitude]]

1/1/2019 5:16:22 PM
It's fucking true man.[Edited on January 1, 2019 at 5:18 PM. Reason : I might be exaggerating a little. But we still think we're way better than we really are]
1/1/2019 5:17:50 PM
I think we're the best overall fans in the state when it comes to all sports as a whole. But I literally don't think I've ever heard any State fans claim being the best fans in the nation. Maybe you spend a lot more time on PackPride than I do or something.

^^ The Gator at the time was the ACC #2 pick. They used to be ahead of the Peach.Plus, playing Notre Dame was a big deal because they were Notre Dame.[Edited on January 3, 2019 at 2:03 PM. Reason : .]
1/3/2019 2:01:40 PM
The gator bowl is no less prestigious now than it was then (It's always been a meaningless bowl game, just like every other one not involving top 10 teams.) If anything, the ACC was a much, much weaker conference football-wise in 2002. FSU had already begun it's decline under Bobby Bowden and there was no real nationally relevant team in the conference.]
1/3/2019 2:50:16 PM
I think the playoff may take a little something away from the other bowls. Or maybe not, I can’t really quantify that at all. Just sorta a feeling. But I don’t think players sitting out really diminishes them significantly.
