Beverly is better than he's shown these last 10 minutes of play, but Johnson had been on fire all night (the last desperation shot not withstanding), so why on earth do you not give him the ball and let him kill time until taking a shot? Beverly tossed an off-balanced 3-point miss with barely 3 seconds into a new clock. That's not just bad shooting, that's bad game control.

We beat the spread, handled ourselves for 40 minutes on the road against a Q1 team, and should have won if not for Floppy Davison. We're better than I thought and this gives me hope moving forward.

I think Markell seemed gassed. Maybe I’m wrong, though.

And yeah. Refs knew that Davison was a charge taking guy. And they gave him he benefit of the doubt. So that’s why theyre so hard to beat at home. Wiscy didn’t look as good as I expected them to, we looked better than I expected for about 37 minutes. Ugh. Oh well.

I hope Daniels is similar to Freeman last year. Freeman really struggled to fit in the first month or two and seemed like he shot every time he got the ball but after that he was one of our best scorers. Hope Daniels can have a similar turn around.

i slept on it.

ultimately losing this game isn't *that* big of a deal. it's an early season road game vs what will surely be a quality opponent. it's just really frustrating considering we were controlling the game for 35 minutes. got Vandy on Saturday, that would be a nice win...they lost their start freshman guard for the season, they are 61 in kenpom. this and then penn state are our best chances for quality wins OOC (auburn, obviously, but they're a tougher opponent).

i did expect wiscy to look better...and i don't know if that is a compliment to our defense - particularly in the 1st half - or if maybe i'm being influenced too much by past wiscy teams. i know they were down last year, but kenpom really likes them this year (top 10 i think). so maybe we're better than i thought, maybe wiscy isn't as good as i thought, or maybe it's a little of both, or maybe i'm trying to draw too many conclusions from one early season game.
