I brought one, but they request that you not wear busy patterns or prints. They ask you to bring three outfits; I brought three dress shirts and a Hawaiian just in case they'd let me.

No, but he did make several off-color jokes and references to alcoholism.

Apparently a lot of people think he comes off as a jerk on TV but I thought he was about as friendly as you can expect him to be, given that he's met at least two new contestants per episode over nearly 8,000 episodes (the June 1 episode will be #7,775). So, you know, nice, but you don't come off with the impression that he might ask you out for a beer or anything. Some of what he says is pretty well-worn (he made a reference to how the staff must have heard him tell one particular joke to the audience hundreds of times), as you'd expect, but he had good banter with the crew.

Overall, I entered the studio with a certain amount of awe surrounding Trebek and it was not diminished by meeting him, which is saying something.

^^Actually, I thought he came off as a jerk in person during tapings for the College Championship the year they held it in Raleigh. I thought it would be cool and took my immediate family to taping. However, we were all turned off by his attitude and pompousness. We don't watch the show any more. I'd gladly make an exception for your episode(s), but I only get CBS.

That's second place and you wouldn't get to come back... If you win a game you're going to end up with $3,000 at a minimum. (I think, I've never seen anyone win with under 2K... I'm not really sure what the min payment is for first place.)

The average win per episode is around $20,000... but you're point still stands, it's not retirement cash.

The minimum a winner would take home is $1,001. I saw a guy win with a $1 (the other two went down to $0 after final Jeopardy) and then he came in 3rd the next day and got the $1,000.

In this case, he was. They don't snap a photo, they just train the camera on you for a few seconds and snag a still. During the entire came, he was complaining that I and the contestant to my right were so tall, he was having to stand on his "tippy toes," as he put it.

But this is kind of a damned-if-I-do, damned-if-I-don't situation. If I just straight ghosted after the taping, people would be hypothesizing that I either humiliated myself or was still on some sort of epic tear. If I imply that I'm even remotely pleased, then I'm "hinting" that I crushed it; if I just come back and acknowledge "I will be on Jeopardy on June 1 if you want to watch" then I'm "hinting" that I lost; literally everything I do could be construed as a hint.

Besides, since the taping all I've said regarding the outcome was "It was worth watching. All of the games that will air that week were taped yesterday and they were all good games." That's it. If that's "talking around it," then I guess I am in fact lame as fuck.

If anyone has any thoughts on how to record this program for my own posterity, they would be welcome. I don't have a DVR or any more antique means (VHS) to do so.

i typically DVR jeopardy on my computer, but Plex DVR is hit or miss and sometimes it only records a few minutes

edit: scratch that i just checked and my most recent recordings look like i am not receiving that channel any more. i'll check the antenna tonight, if i can figure out the issue i'll record it
