police have volunteered to give brock turner extra security because he is receiving death threats but will refuse to give kap's entire organization and tens of thousands of fans security because he has spoke out against police brutality. Curious.
9/4/2016 12:25:01 PM
Just wanted to point out that it's not the police department, it's the police union making these dumb threats. Specifically some dumb shit union boss.
9/4/2016 12:56:18 PM
Good point
9/4/2016 1:10:58 PM
I like how the police union is demanding the 49ers punish Kaepernick, when they don't seem very proactive in punishing all of their officers who callously murder civilians on a regular basis.
9/4/2016 2:11:51 PM
It IS sorta fucked up the niners have done jack shit though. This is the league that ruins careers over gameday fashion statements
9/4/2016 3:57:59 PM
He doesn't wear the socks during games.
9/4/2016 6:08:57 PM
Yo Kaep, I'mma let you finish. But Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf had the best national anthem protest of all time!
9/4/2016 7:35:53 PM
Megan Rapinoe gonna get her own thread?
9/4/2016 11:32:04 PM
not enough male or straight or football privilege to get enough attention for checking her white privilege and becoming a SJWfrom last month
9/5/2016 12:03:13 AM
lol @ Kaepernick for having the best selling jersey on the San Fran 49ers right now?
9/5/2016 4:42:18 PM
Who else's jersey are they gonna buy? Blaine Gabbert?
9/5/2016 4:53:22 PM
Is that just this (pre)season? Cause when he was leading them to NFC title games I'm sure he sold plenty of jerseys. And a bunch of his teammates from those years retired or are on other teams.
9/5/2016 4:54:08 PM
it's definitely a recent figure...don't know if it's over the last month or what, though.
9/5/2016 5:23:04 PM
Who would possibly sell more nowadays, maybe Bowman, that's about the only guy I'd think. That franchise is so poorly run.
9/5/2016 7:43:44 PM
maybe carlos hyde since he's a recent high draft pick at a skill position and was well known out of college
9/5/2016 8:03:57 PM
Darren rovel just reported that the 49ers sold more kaepernick gear on their website this week than in the last 8 months combined.
9/5/2016 9:04:47 PM
gotta say, i'm not surprised at all that they didn't sell many jerseys during the offseason.and don't get me wrong, i'm sure plenty of people have purchased Kaep jerseys in support of him. but it's hardly noteworthy that they didn't move many jerseys for their back up QB in the middle of the offseason.
9/5/2016 9:19:59 PM
All of the rich white owners want to thank Kap for his protest.
9/5/2016 9:29:38 PM
^^ I see you're not familiar with the stupid shit Darren Rovel reports. He's the best and worst follow on sports Twitter.
9/5/2016 10:10:47 PM
i thought Rovell was just the worst.
9/6/2016 7:15:22 AM
He's a human tellanovella.
9/6/2016 8:33:12 AM
republicans: unions are worthless liberal institutions that should be done away with. except police unions...those are cool.
9/6/2016 9:27:34 AM
his own birth mother criticized himhttp://sportschew.com/colin-kaepernick-how-he-turned-out
9/7/2016 2:12:08 AM
The one who gave him up for adoption, practically at birth? Who gives a fuck what she thinks about raising children?
9/7/2016 7:10:20 AM
i've seen that going around...and who gives a shit? like, how is her opinion relevant/newsworthy?[Edited on September 7, 2016 at 7:12 AM. Reason : arrow]
9/7/2016 7:11:48 AM
Her opinion is just as relevant as Kaepernick's opinion on black oppression.
9/7/2016 8:52:22 AM
Yeah, but her opinion isn't offering a unique perspective because she is black. That is not why she is brought up in the news. Her opinion is unique from others because she is Kaep.'s mother. In fact, her own tweets (which I believe the link is referencing), Heidi Russo is not even talking about black oppression. What she said she disagreed with was the manner in which Kaep. was protesting, i.e., disrespecting his country and those who serve, yada yada yada. But, like, what I'm saying is.... if you give you kid up for adoption at birth, sure you can hope for the best for the little guy... but your opinion on what your child is doing is just an opinion... as meaningless as any other opinion... so like, who gives a fuck what Kaep.'s mother has to say?
9/7/2016 9:24:36 AM
LOL...the guy sat during the national anthem. he didn't run into a school and murder people. I don't see how this is "bringing shame to your country" or any of that nonsense. we all fucking know what he is protesting about. he's not burning flags or raping veterans. I feel like most of the people that are really pissed off about him are most certainly oblivious to problems outside of their bubbles and that's part of the problem. some people have no empathy because they can't see outside of themselves. many of these people feel like you have to be poor or have grown up poor to genuinely support the needs of the poor (substitute poor for black). I'm patriotic as fuck, but I don't expect the next man to be and that's his goddamn American right.[Edited on September 7, 2016 at 9:43 AM. Reason : ]

National Anthem != Ode to the Military
9/7/2016 9:50:42 AM
yeah but the way the military has taken over football has made it fill of jingoism and fake patriotism
9/7/2016 10:27:55 AM
do people stand up during the anthem while watching at home?
9/7/2016 10:34:11 AM
Shit, I may or may not stop to put my hand over my heart. This usually depends on if I had my arms full of drinks and hotdogs.
9/7/2016 11:09:08 AM
I'm willing to bet that the off-duty gig is hard to come by for most guys at the PD and one of those things where "you got to know somebody." I bet for all the officers who are like "f this dude, we aren't going to provide security" there are like 200 hundred other officers who are like, "f you, will take the money and not say shit."
9/7/2016 11:12:09 AM
^ except their union probably won't let them right?
9/7/2016 11:13:04 AM
Don't know. I work in a non-union state. I'm a member of FOP, but all I use them for is the legal benefit and maybe a discount at AVIS.
9/7/2016 11:15:49 AM
9/7/2016 11:35:23 AM
You have no idea exactly how he may have been oppressed over his lifetime. Maybe he got pulled over a couple times more than he would have if he was fully white. Do you know he didn't?We do know that she gave him up for adoption and forfeited the right to act as his mother in any capacity whatsoever
9/7/2016 11:38:55 AM
You're right, i don't. But i refer you to his family picture on page 1 of this thread.
9/7/2016 11:41:01 AM
You know what, you are the one that's right here. If you have a white family take you in and give you money than I guess there are no other ways you could possibly be oppressed. Every time he gets stopped by a police officer he just takes out that picture and goes on his way
9/7/2016 11:50:14 AM
you mean black children adopted by white families aren't given a special card to keep in their wallet?
9/7/2016 11:56:26 AM
9/7/2016 12:02:37 PM
Kaep. said he will donate the proceeds from his recent surge in Jersey sales to communities in need.
9/7/2016 12:19:33 PM
^no that can't be right...he's a selfish asshole doing this only for attention and fame.
9/7/2016 12:43:55 PM
He's doing it for dat ass. His slam piece is a #BLM crazy
9/7/2016 1:07:01 PM
9/7/2016 1:08:04 PM
Similarly, you don't have to be a good mother to point out when someone is being an ass.
9/7/2016 1:16:59 PM
^ jebus the mental gymnastics with this one
9/7/2016 1:18:55 PM
9/7/2016 1:19:23 PM
It's not oppression when you are less likely to get shot by a cop when factoring in violent crime. It's a narrative of oppression just like the wage gap myth. It's not "speaking out against oppression" it's spreading misinformation and more police distrust.
9/7/2016 1:22:40 PM
THE WAGE GAP MYTH YOU SAY?!
