How are the fairways @ WCC? Haven't played there in a year or two and I live like 4 miles away Last time I played, several fairways were under repair so the golfing was a bit rough.[Edited on October 19, 2017 at 12:12 PM. Reason : .]

I don't have a ton of nice courses to compare it to but for the most part it has been fine. Think there was one hole this summer they had laid some sod down and gave you a free drop if it landed in that area but was pretty decent otherwise. My biggest complaint would be some of the cart paths have been all sorts of messed up by tree roots so its a rough ride in spots.

At some point I am gonna have to find someone or a group to play with. While they will let me play as a single at most places I have gone I also know if I start trying to hit up the nicer courses on the weekends at some point I am gonna have to play with random people. None of my friends want to/can afford/have time to play golf so I have just been playing by myself.

I went and got a new driver yesterday and played it today and shot a 42 on 9 holes. Missed one fairway and that was six inches off to the left. Just hitting the fairway gave me confidence on all my iron shots and I only hit one of those that was pretty bad. 7 bogeys and 2 pars including on 9 to finish up the round. Only one three putt and that was on a par 3 where I actually hit a good first shot on the green and then yipped the par putt.Question: if you hit a ball and it skips off the water back onto land is that ok? I hit one hard and low and it skipped off the water and ended up in the fairway then hit that ugly iron shot but hit a good third onto the green and two putted to save bogey. If that isn't ok then I didn't shoot a 42 haha. I think the best thing I did was just concede that I was bad at first and concentrated on getting a triple each hole, then a double as that became easier, and now I just try to bogey each hole. Until I get my approach shot under control I am not going to improve anymore that's why I just shoot for bogey. My drive is becoming reasonably consistent (will see if this new driver helps that) but that shot into the green either a par 3, 2nd shot into 4 or 3rd into five I rarely get onto the green in a position to at least think about birdie. I am generally chipping from somewhere around the green and then just trying to make sure I two putt, which I have gotten much better at judging speeds. Now all of this is again off beginner tees on a very easy course that I play all the time so I still have a ton to work on. I am gonna move back to the white tees the next time I play I think and start working from that distance and see how it goes.

Jesus Christ. Good on the PGA for denying waivers. As JT said, “if you want to go, then go”
