Baseball is so dumb.
10/14/2015 7:00:06 PM
Y'all are missing an absolute beauty in Toronto. 7th inning for the ages.
10/14/2015 7:14:37 PM
I agree.this is exciting baseball, I wish every game was like that inning.
10/14/2015 7:19:46 PM
Oh look, a bench clearing "incident". Time to be fake tough guys everybody, somebody flipped a bat!
10/15/2015 1:47:57 AM
this is so dumb -

"he's a role model to little kids and if you make baseball look fun they will abandon the sport entirely...please this is a gentleman's game"

10/15/2015 1:08:59 PM
You don't like a batter flipping his bat? pitch better.
10/15/2015 4:23:03 PM
^ exactly
10/15/2015 5:07:24 PM
Bottom of the 9th and my game feed started getting wonky...all I know is Utley is out. COME ON METS!
10/15/2015 11:19:35 PM
M-E-T-S METS METS METS! What a game! Bring it, Cubbies!
10/15/2015 11:22:58 PM
Lol @ Dodgers. Fucking pathetic waste of $300M
10/16/2015 12:02:38 AM
What's amazing is Greinke and Kershaw were mostly on-point for 4 games, 3 of the 4 biggest Mets bats (Cespedes, Duda, d'Arnaud) were silent outside of Game 3, and the Mets still pulled this out.

if we talked about baseball managers as coaches then that would have to be one of the worst coached games for the dodgers. 1. not covering 3rd on the walk.2. why did the rf catch the pop up foul ball allowing the runner to tag. just let it drop and live for another pitch.
10/16/2015 8:10:06 AM
People are talking about it, its the only thing I heard about on the radio on the way into work today.
10/16/2015 8:16:36 AM
this has been a great week of baseball. some amazing game fives. Looking forward to making my gf sit through another great game tonight ]

^right...that's easy to say in hindsight, but it was also a catch he had to make on the move, in an area of the field that has a a rather narrow foul territory. so it's not like it was a lazy foul pop.[Edited on October 16, 2015 at 11:22 AM. Reason : c]

There are different schools of thought, but my coaches always said when you can get an out, make it happen. You never know if the next pitch is going to be hit over the wall and then you're in a worse situations. I've seen it happen in MLB games too where an intentionally missed foul ball results in more base runners or a home run. Also, it was early enough in the game and it was the tying run, not winning run. That had to be a factor. The extra base was Greinke's fault. He could have called time as soon as he got the ball back and he didn't. In the post-game Murphy even said "If they had called time I would have looked like an idiot."[Edited on October 16, 2015 at 1:02 PM. Reason : -]

ALCSBlue Jays vs Royals (Friday, Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday)NLCSCubs vs Mets (Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday)
10/16/2015 1:08:26 PM
NLCS is a titties matchup. ALCS should be fun because both teams are a little snippy. This so beats the shit out of something like St. Louis-Los Angeles. ALCS was going to be cool with me as soon as the Yankees got the boot.

Would be nice to see the Cubs or Jays win. Otherwise, just hoping for some good games.
10/16/2015 2:41:10 PM
@bdmazurBoth teams jaw a lot and get their feathers ruffled easily. Things got pretty hot in August between the two already.
10/16/2015 3:38:55 PM
Ah, yeah I see that. I think both clubs have so many young players (and even older players who haven't been here before) that the adrenaline is super high.
10/16/2015 3:43:38 PM
The playoffs have been awesome so far. I'll be happy to see any of these teams win the WS including the Mets (I'm a Braves fan). Just nice to not see the Giants or Cards or Yankees/Red Sox for a change. As is, I'm rooting for Cubs-Royals.
10/16/2015 5:07:38 PM
All I'm seeing are articles about Cubs "power hitting" vs Mets "power pitching," but I don't see it that way:NL Batting Ranks, Post-All Star BreakBA: Mets #6, Cubs #9Slugging: Mets #1, Cubs #4HR: Mets #1, Cubs #2Total Bases: Mets #1, Cubs #4NL Pitching Ranks, Post-All Star BreakERA: Mets #10, Cubs #14K: Cubs #1, Mets #4Shutouts: Cubs #1, Mets #6BA Agains: Cubs #1, Mets #5Looking at just the probable starting pitchers this series, I'd rank them:#1 Arrieta#2-#5 deGrom, Syndergaard, Harvey, Matz in almost any order#6-#8 The rest of the Cubs
10/16/2015 6:03:15 PM
Just watched the 7th inning from the other night for the first time. Absolutely the stupidest inning I've ever seen.
10/16/2015 6:55:49 PM
An AL bunt in the 3rd inning?!?!
10/16/2015 8:51:12 PM
Pretty much the perfect Royals formula tonight. Dominant 6 innings from the starter, shutdown bullpen, solid hitting from the top and middle of the order.
10/16/2015 11:17:35 PM
Welp, that was an impressive game.Price was lights out and we still scratched out a win with a lot of small ball. Once we got the lead the bullpen came in and locked it up like they have for the last 2 seasons.I love our chances to advance at 2-0. I really thought we'd only get 1-1 out of these first two with Price pitching game 2.

I admit, I have been dead wrong about the mets. Murphy is probably the best player in either league so far this postseason.
10/18/2015 2:42:40 AM
GO ROYALS!Bullpen has been the difference...that and small ball...Royals might sweep if these bats keep up.
10/18/2015 3:32:13 AM
10/18/2015 3:32:40 AM
Haven't seen Arrieta much this year. Have seen last two starts....
10/18/2015 8:35:25 PM
Well that was fun while it lasted at least the Cubs should be built to keep this going for a few years at least. Murphy has been amazing and the pitching for the Mets has been on point. Cubs needed both wins out of Arietta in this series so unless the Cubs offense just goes bonkers or de Grom just has a terrible game this one is over.
10/19/2015 8:44:25 AM
these championship series games have been absolutely awesome. god i love postseason baseball.
10/19/2015 9:23:51 AM
^^ deGrom has struggled more against the Cubs than anyone... but Mets have to feel real good right now.
10/19/2015 9:49:43 AM
I'm so glad Syndergaard was able to pitch at home. Huge difference in his numbers on the road. deGrom is the right person to go on the road, especially since Wrigley Field is much more of a hitter's park (Bleacher Report ranked Citi Field as #5 most pitcher-friendly, Wrigley #20)Regular Season HR/Start:deGrom .53Harvey: .62Matz .67 (only 6 games started)Syndergaard .79It works out pretty great that if Syndergaard is needed again, it will be at home.
10/19/2015 1:49:49 PM
Tulo getting tossed is a direct result of the way the Jays have been bitching about balls and strikes the ENTIRE postseason. They whine about balls and strikes a ton, Batista is probably the worst, but Tulo isn't far behind.I think the ump had just had enough. It was a 10-4 or 11-4 game and he's still there chirping about a close pitch and then said something else while in the field between innings. I'd love to hear the audio from Hirschbeck's mic, but we won't get to.Nice win for Toronto, really glad that KC didn't have to use more of their bullpen and also really glad they forced Toronto to put Osuna out there with a day game coming up tomorrow. I like our chances to win tomorrow especially as bad as Dickey has looked, but you never know how it will go with a knuckleballer.
10/19/2015 11:47:00 PM
hate these ticky-tack replay challenges where the foot is off the base for a split second. I get it, literal interpretation of a once understood rule. but it really hurts the game.
10/20/2015 5:39:59 PM
I have no problem with that. I'd rather they get the call correct than not. It forces some actual consistency from the umps. If they need to go back and rewrite the rule they can do that.
10/20/2015 6:49:42 PM
Position player pitching alert.
10/20/2015 7:35:36 PM
Lol at how excited the Cubs fans are that Murphy struck out. That's a great meter of how well you're doing that the other fans start to hate you that much. And then Wright and Cespedes combine to put up a run, two guys who have needed to start hitting this series. If Granderson hadn't been caught stealing it would be 2-0...not really sure why they felt like sending him.[Edited on October 20, 2015 at 8:17 PM. Reason : -]
10/20/2015 8:14:02 PM
And then a miracle occurred because NL teams can't hit home runs, and Chicago tied it up with a solo shot.
10/20/2015 8:28:58 PM
Schwarber barely swung at that...But the other two hits were soft. Not too worried about deGrom here..
10/20/2015 8:34:05 PM
The 1st inning is almost always his worst.
10/20/2015 8:46:20 PM
